After the incredible experience of seeing the new trailer and meeting members the cast and crew of the Star Wars films, we were honored to receive the award for Best Visual Effects. The actual fight between Revan and Nihilus is very well done. The choreography is amazing. This really shows how skilled they were.
The guy playing Nihilus got the one handed saber use down to a tee 👌 was really well done.
Revan was great as well no complaints there and the gil playing meetra did brilliant... but that little wiggly run 🏃♀️ at Nihilus gave me a wee chuckle 😂

That is likely because it's the most economical solution. Fan films typically have very limited budgets. Building sets is expensive, so space stations and high-tech locations are more rare.
because they can't afford to build sets for a short fan film, this was good. They didn't need sets.
We wanted to make the Salt Flats our focus location of the film. We made basic sets for Revan's throne room and the ship under siege scenes but a tight budget is something you need to creatively get around.
We like to think we were showing the origins of the planet Abafar, as seen in the animated series The Clone Wars. Our non canon backstory of the planet is that it was once a lush forest before being consumed by Nihilus, thus giving the dead salty wasteland effect.

Canonically, Revan was an amazing duelist, whilst Nihilus was average. Nihilus was strong in the dark side being able to summon red lightning, and leech entire planets. Still pretty good tho

If you create a Soldier class as a Jedi guardian and make his strength, and dexterity high and max out toughness and combat feats for soldier class you can beat him trust me man I’ve been playing this game since it came out for original xbox. Also if you create a Jedi councilor class and max out wisdom and constitution you can literally use almost any force power on him and kill him. If you have to use mines or rum away from him you went wild in the leveling up feature

Hard to say. Nihilus was more of a creature at the end. More instinct than anything, and not entirely in control either. Revan, however, was a tactical genius, in addition to be quite powerful. Over all, I'd have to agree. The only reason the Exile was able to defeat Nihilus was because the exile was "a wound in the force, " and the force was all that sustained Nihilus.In a fight with Revan, Nihilus would likely feast on his strong connection....and go on to destroy the galaxy after supper.

Darth Revan, if I recall, is among the most powerful and smartest Sith Lords, Jedi, and Gray Jedi that ever existed. Darth Nihilus was an above average duelist. But his power with Force Drain was incredible. He was able to Force Drain entire planets, making him among the most terrifying Sith Lords in Star Wars history. No jedi could defeat him, except Meetra Surik, a wound in the Force. Since Force Drain had little to no effect on her, he had to resort to his lightsaber. At this point, he can be beaten. This doesn't make Meetra more powerful than Revan, but she is more of a threat than Revan simply because she is a wound in the Force. The existence of one could mean the end of the Force itself.
That said, supposedly Darth Sidious, aka Emperor Palpatine, was more powerful than he was given credit for. Supposedly he was able to Force Drain entire planets as well.
Also, Disney needs to take all this into account, especially the concept of wounds in the Force. I think to end the Star Wars story, as in no more sequels, have there be a wound in the Force and the
Force actually ceases to exist.
Last thing, there was a little rumor that went around saying that Disney might make KOTOR movie and have Keanu Reeves play as Revan.
Anyway, I rambled way too much. Good video overall.

Thank you for enlightening me, I know very little of the KOTOR games but I’m still learning. One thing I definitely learned is that this is WAY BETTER than any Shit Disney has made.

They nailed Nihilus down. They didn’t just see his character and assumed what he would be like, they got him spot on. Nihilus speaks a different language, a language people assume is the language of the force, they got his vanishing act down, and most importantly, they got his lightsaber combat down since apparently it is said that he duelled with only one hand.

That was totally awesome. Nihilus was just so intimidating and scary. I got goose bumps as soon as the camera first shot him just standing there staring at Meetra, making those creepy noises. And Revan was just cool. The helmet, the armor, the accent, the moves. Great work.

I'm sorry this is 1million times better than the garbage of Episode 7, 8 & 9! It's only 7 minutes vs. the hours spent watching Rey Mary Suewalker yelling back and forth at each other with Finn and Poe! Now these were great Sith stories, especially Revan/Darth Revan but Darth Nihilus is just pure Dark side evil! Great job on this video my friend and well deserve on the award you guys won this👍

Two of my favourite force users head to head. Honestly before watching this, I didn't know who I'd put my money on, Revan or Nihilus. But after reading some of the comments I do agree that Revan would have lost to Nihilus without the exile and this video is quite accurate. But I think Revan and Nihilus cannot be compared, they are both badass in their own categories.

+ConorChaos, Our research indicated Revan was 168cm (5 feet & 6 inches) tall. Our actress for Meetra is 6 feet tall.
Seaichfilms I'm assuming you're research was from the statues made of both Revan and Malak, respectfully? Of which you can't really judge their actually height. Malak was stated to be very tall and several inches taller than Revan in a book written around the Old Republic era but it's been so long since I've picked it up. I believe the heights of each character were something like, Revan was 6'1 where as Malak was about 6'4. Bastilla Shan also referred to Revan as being tall and skinny. Which would later be used in the Force Unleashed for Juno to describe Galen Marek, which is a nice throw back.
Also, I'm not trying to insult the actor or the people who worked on this incredibly well done short movie. I just noticed how short he was and remembered Leia's quip to Luke. The Revan costume is beyond epic, by the way.

These fan "films" always boil down to an over the top light saber battle with zero story.
I mean.... Lightsaber duels can be handled exceptionally well if they have weight and purpose behind them. The premise of this story has some potential, but it’s execution at times just feels... off.
It’s the kind of thing you get with a majority of Star Wars fan films in all honesty especially ones that involve Lightsaber duels.

Nihilus wasn't actually a physical being. When the human Nihilus gave himself over to the hunger of the dark side, his corporeal form ceased to be, and his spirit possessed his robes and mask. So cutting off his head like that wouldn't work.

I know the Ancient Sith would sometimes use the Force as if casting a spell or curse, much like the Nightsisters. Even Palpatine, during the Netflix Season of the Clone Wars used a curse to influence Yoda's visions! But Nihilus sounds like something else... a more ancient tongue. A darker, more sinister force of nature! A really good portrayal of his character!
Dudes the closest thing to a force vampire we ever got. They did such a good job hyping up ancient sith i always consodered the empire a joke and an insult to the ancient sith. Yes palp is strong in the dark side but he comes from a time of the sith hiding in shadows these were sith that had a whole legion of dark side users that want nothing more than to take their masters place so when you were considered a sith lord it actually meant somthing not just a defacto position because you were a dark side user longer than your apprentice.

maybe its just me but I always felt like Darth Nihlus should move much less organically than a normal person owing to literally being some robes and a mask I know in the game he moved like a normal person but they probably did that to save on the cost of creating a unique model for him
my thought is he should move like a marionette being controlled by a poor puppeteer, of little to no skill, jerky movements that are either too slow or too fast, his legs don't move when he "walks or runs" they just sort of drag behind him, and with no special focus paid to the things infront of where his face should be he is aware of everything in a 360° periphery and can contort his "body" according to said awareness allowing him to fight an enemy he isn't even looking at

Palpatine fought kinda like what you describe in season 6 of clone wars when we beats Maul and kills his brother Savage like they were total noobs, laughing maniacally throughout. He moved far and quickly, but almost like he was being pulled.
Revan is strong but Nihilus has devoured entire planets, only reason the exile was able to defeat him was because of her predicament.

@Dao Rave we've seen the hour fan film and can appreciate what they've accomplished. We certainly would love to make a feature length KotOR film as well but we would not do so without an adequate budget as we would not want to misrepresent such beloved characters. That's why the fan films we've made thus far have been non-canon. We'd wanna go ALL IN and do the franchise justice with expensive effects, costumes, sets and professional actors. Maybe one day we'll be able to fulfill that dream.

This is by far the best fan film I've ever seen. I love how it takes place after the dark side ending of the game. It's awesome to think that Revan would eventually have to deal with Nihilus and the Sith Triumvirate (will we maybe see Sion in the next? Will we ever get to see Malak??) Bottom line, amazing work. This seriously brought my favorite game to life in a way I thought it never would.

For those who think Revan should be taller guess again cause when I look it up it states that he is a little over 175 centimeters which is about 5'8". This makes sense considering Malak is a little over 6'6" and is an entire head taller than Revan.
They should have at least made him 5'10 Oh well at least short guys have someone to root for

Damn that was sweet and very well done! I love the setting of the salt flats and the costume design! Nihilius' force drain and illusion powers were on point, though I must say, Revan's face grab force lightning had to be the most metal part of the whole fight. Well done! 10/10

A world where this is a fan made film, likely with a low budget, amateur actors and student film makers, who did their best with what they had.
True, but there's no use in arguing with self-appointed internet critics. Most of them have never created anything of value on their own - not even a review more mature or detailed than "it sucks!" - and yet they love to judge others without taking into consideration the resources available to create the fan game or film in question.
If this was the result of a big budget film, it would be disappointing. But for what it is - a low-budget fan film - it is quite good. So, to those who created it, well done and keep on creating. And for those who can only spit mockery while claiming nothing unique in their own names, grow up.
Where is Revan's iconic purple Lightsaber? During the time that he fought Nihilus, he had a purple Lightsaber, and it was swaggin

Coming from a Star Wars fan who saw the original when it opened in the theatres, all those many years ago. I was lucky, my bestie at the time, her father worked as a manager for the cinemas and I got to see it at least 20 times in a row back then, while there were line ups around the block, it was glorious!
Disney needs to take a long hard look at what they are destroying and go back to KOTOR for the best SW stories. They should start looking here. The last thing they churned out is the first time I didn't bother going to see on opening night, a tradition since that 1977 release of SW: ANH
