I started this channel simply because I love motorcycles and I was tired of watching guys yelling, hard rock music, bling bling bling, and just simply advertisement videos for the OEMs. Now 4 years later I am still going and just added Ducati to the stable of OEMs 👍😁

I'll not agree with you, he seems like he doesn't rly know what he's saying and that type of men with his own beliefs. Just to begin with, V2 engines are very well known for reliability. I've looked at his reviews ... I find them lame. This is the reason why I'll never subscribe, he seems to have a disability when he speaks.

So it only took a year and a half to get a real, unbiased review from someone. Kudos to you.
As an ex-owner of a Multi V4S, I'm with you on the engine being a bit jerky below 4k rpm. It is smooth by Ducati's standards, but I'm surprised every single journalist who got invited at the press launch failed to mention it... And I'm really glad you're touching on the off-road at the end, and the eye-watering cost of a simple tip-over.

and at the sales shop they say "hey its a motorcycle," and "or its the California emissions fault" ( though its Euro 5). In 2023 a $30k+ bike with niggles like stalling and surging, is "just the way it is". What happened to you pay for quality and superior design.

People ride differently - if it was me, I sure wouldn't be in 6th gear on those roads - probably not out of third. It is a motorcycle engine, it is a 4, it does like revs. I'm sort of puzzled that it is limited to 10k rpm.

I demo rode a V4S Sport MS in July. Highly impressed with it. Loved it. Bought it. Most rowdy fun motorcycle I’ve ever owned, and I currently have 21 bikes in my collection. No, it’s not a hard core ADV bike, but I have a tricked out ‘17 Super Tenere and much modified Suzuki DR650 for that. I do take it down gravel roads, and some light two track trails. No mud, tho.
This was a short review, and you failed to cover some of the more advanced tech. How all the electronic driver aides are adjustable.
I have my abs set to 3 and the front Stylemas grab like a race bike. Maybe the mid ‘22 models have better pads? The rear brake doesn’t.
I liked your racehorse/Clydesdale metaphor. I agree with that. 👍
I also agree that it’s not the best ADV bike at all, but a great all-around rip roaring bike. Place it in Dynamic, and let the wheelies begin!

At 6'2, I found it to be a comfortable bike and the suspension was happy even with a passenger on my test ride. But agree with you, it's not really a dirt road, gravel road machine. I can't see myself trundling along for hours in first and second gear with this engine. But I think it would be an excellent highway machine if performance was your premium and presents a very good value in terms of scheduled maintenance costs compared to the BMW.

Yeah, I think you nailed it! I test rode one and thought that as an adventure bike it has its shortcomings. What I really liked was the motor (but not as an adventure bike, more like a spicy upright bulky bike!), the tech, the wind protection and the handling although the speed that you can carry can catch you out when approaching a bend. It's a Ducati, it's sporty, it's beautful. But for me it's too much for a bike in this sector.

Top review, Scott, very sincere! But I'm surprised! In the press this bike is represented as the first real GS-killer, but it's a complete different kind of bike with a different character. • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  Před 2 lety

Well, on my 2021 1250 RT it works well at full throttle but everywhere else it's kind of clunky. 1st to 2nd is always a huge clunk unless at full throttle. Which on these bikes is rare to use 100% throttle, so just use the clutch there. 2nd and up at 30% throttle (which is normal for me) is ok, diffidently not the best but it works. BMW say it's the boxer motor, being a twin and so big but then I ask the question, well, what about Ducati, Triumph, KTM, Honda...etc, they don't have the same clunkyness. Then...no answer.... LOL!

Then Pikes Peak is where the motor belongs and the one I have ordered. Way too much money and I don't care for someday I will die and it won't matter. I'll get full race exhaust and associated ecu tuning which will help it not chug at 3000 rpm and gives a nice boost down there. It will run as Ducati intended. Euro 5 doing no bikes any favors in low speed drivability. My 5 KTM 1290s in various form also don't like below 3000 rpms but I can't imagine why I would ride a bike below 3000 rpm range in any situation. Unfortunately. If you ask any real adventure nut.
If it isn't shaft drive then it's a no go.

sorry but shaft drive has nothing to do with adventure. It is more a personal choice. I had both. I also talked with riders who traveled the world and had broken shaft drives, and since then none of them is driving with this type of transmission. Everyone has its advantages and disadvantages.

How do you repair a shaft drive in the rural out reaches of the world? A chain you can repair replace just about anywhere and with little assistance.

A face only a mother could love, the Ducati, not Scott 👎 An expensive Akrapovic that sounds like a tin can 👎 Brembo brakes which don't actually brake 👎 Power that only kicks in in the upper rev range 👎 Fuel consumption similar to a tractor 👎 An Adventure bike which doesn't take you on an Adventure 👎 That'll be Triple Two thumbs down from me, my ZZR's probably got more off road potential 😀

how bout this for a perspective.... do ducati make amazing bikes? yes they do. do ducati race team get sponsorship from mce insurance that have gone bust and owe their customers a lot of money (not to mention writing off their customers marginally damaged bikes as write offs and then selling them on ebay)? yes they do.
