  • The Ducati Multistrada V4 S, it's one of the most desirable and powerful adventure bikes on the planet, but what's it really like to live with? ABR's Alun has been riding the big Ducati throughout 2022 to answer that question and more.
    Watch as Alun and James give the Multistrada V4 S the definitive ABR Verdict, judging the bike on how it performed as a commuter, a weekend tourer, an off-roader, a continental road tourer, an around-the-world overlander, and a pillion carrier.
    Just how capable was the bike on long-distance tours? Was Alun brave enough to take a motorcycle that costs the best part of £20,000 off road? And just how much of 2022 did her spend stroking that sculpted bodywork?
    If you're thinking about treating yourself to a new Ducati Multistrada V4 S in 2023, make sure you get the full ABR Verdict on the adventure bike first...

    I've owned a 2023 V4S for about 6 weeks now - it is without a doubt the most exceptional motorcycle I've ever ridden, and I'm in my 40th year of continuous riding.

    Hi guys, I’m looking at the multistrada v4 rally, haven’t ridden a bike since the mid 80’s, I agree with the comments tha you could leave it in your lounge room and just look at the shape and lines of it. I live in Australia and have a trailer boat that I use out of Portland Victoria in the Southern Ocean and I just love the lines of this boat. It has never let me down only being a 5.8 metre boat that I have used in 6.8 metre seas. Fully understand what you’re talking about. 👍

    Many things makes me love the Ducati :
    - Exhibition in my house
    - Excitement on the road
    Everything is so well designed and functional

    The feeling of riding something ‘special’ is shared with its smaller sibling the V2S, I ‘downsized’ to the 950 after three GSs, the last a 1250 GSA. It’s a brilliant bike, great build quality and more than adequate performance for road and trail, in fact it’s arguably a much better VFM package as the brilliant V2 allows you to use more of the engine on the road and is £4000+ cheaper than the V4. I would love a V4 but as I primarily ride solo, don’t need radar and enjoy 50 mpg from the super flexible engine I’ll stick with the V2 on my local roads in Northumberland. Would like the rear radar and the heated seats on the next update though, and the 36000 mile valve adjustment😆
    PS. Love Halvarssons kit too…

    I'm pleased you like it so much, I wished you would talk to riders like myself who have had nothing but problems with the v4 s multistrada like myself , I couldn't even ride mine it was that bad and one of the reasons I went last year to the ABR is so I could speak directly to someone from Ducati and get some help, I have ended up having to sell it back to the dealer and losing 5k in a year just to get out of it after Ducati did nothing to help even though it supposedly comes with 4yr warranty and I'm now back on a GSA TE RALLYE 2022 model . I will never buy a ducati again new unfortunately and I was devastated to say the least.

      what problems did you have with the bike ?

    • @advmatt1250
      @advmatt1250 Před rokem

      @@mikeybikey106 massive vibrations throughout the whole bike, feet , crutch and hands so bad it brought major sciatica on for months and a massive lack of power to which it only did 140 mph and not 160 mph , dealer broke the bike twice and gave it back to me with crash bars and bash guard loose and left panel not connected plus the front seat broken twice . First time it went in for it's first service they didn't put the right side panels on so the fan didn't work and it over heated and went in to limp mode, they also broke ny front seat clips and never once connected the heated seat plugs and other things to and all the time I was told the bike was " perfect" .

      @@advmatt1250 Sounds like you had a very ignorant bum dealer and not so much the bikes fault.
      Did you bypass the dealer and go directly to Ducati to complain ? I recently contacted Ducati to complain about having to wait for a Ducati accessory which had been on back order for some time. Ducati Italy phoned me directly the next day and also emailed me twice and then got a follow up call 2 weeks later . I am sure they would have taken your bikes problem very seriously.
      Yes it’s a quick bike but not sure about why you want to do 160mph on this bike, maybe you should have got a panigale or stree fighter instead
      which town/city was the dealer based ?

    • @advmatt1250
      @advmatt1250 Před rokem

      @@mikeybikey106 yes I went to Ducati and spoke to someone at the abr festival direct, said they would get it sorted and they never did , the bike was a wrong one from the off with the vibrations alone, the speed of the bike is a big part of it and when it's advertised as doing a certain speed then it should do it and the revs where up so the gas mls was down and so on , I traded a v4 2020 panigale in for the multi as its spec was supposedly good . Not in my case either with the panigale , rear brake stuck on and quickshifter broke within 5500 mls and took over 6 weeks and phone calls from Italy and France to sort it out. I'm not the only one who has had the same problems and there is fb page just on the bad vibrations alone .

      Terrible, an expensive new bike with significant problems and when manufacturers won’t honor their own warranties. Was it a 2021 or 2022 model?

    Really great bike but Chain drive and fuel consumption is a factor for me.. usually i don't care about consumption but it is just to much on this bike (atleast the one i tried) compared to my 1250GS..

    Good video thank you, one as to ask oneself if Ducati gave him the bike , I know a few people who as unfortunately had nothing but problems I suppose like all bikes there’s good and bad I have a Gs and for me it’s the perfect bike , stay safe and best wishes.

    If the V4s had a shaft drive I wouldn't have bought a GSA in 2022

    I wish my V4S was the journalist sponsored model .
    Lost me when he did not even know what engine the V4 has .
