This must have been recorded in the mid 80s. Thanks for the memories Don.

Just about all we budding jazz musos have a claim to fame in rubbing shoulders with the "Don" due to his willingness to foster jazz and encourage all comers especially youth.
Some VERY memorable occasions have been for me to see the very mutual respect for each others talents whenever Don and our Toowoomba's Paul Hendon got together on a par in slightly differing styles.
Memories of having to be so careful in shaking Dons painful arthritic hand many years ago.
Long live your music contribution Don.
Ahh such memories.... "Thankyou for the music" as sung by ABBA.

Along with Marie, Don and James there is George Golla on guitar, Julian Lee on piano, Craig Scott on bass and John Sangster on vibes. Unfortunately I don't know who is playing drums.

Mate, 2 1/2 years on and I'm just catching up with your post! The Don is one of life's true gentlemen, one of the most beautiful people I ever met, with a quiet, subtle humour. Meanwhile, the late John Sangster? Bloody character as well as one of the most underrated (internationally little known) musicians and composers. Julian Lee I've met but don't really know and amazingly, not met George Golla. Recording available of the Burrows Quartet (?) at the Montreux Jazz Festival?
