  • This is a reverse chain upgrade on a 2020 RZR 1000 XP. The factory chain broke and got between the ring gear and the case. It broke the case as well. The kit I used for the chain is from Specialized ATV from Arkansas. It also included the low speed gear that also has to be replaced. I also installed the upgraded Specialized ATV bearing retainer plate. I used a replacement case half from SuperATV.

I have a ranger 570 that is very hard to get into reverse. I have to sit there and work the shifter back and forward while tapping the throttle. It will eventually find the gear but will pop out after driving in reverse for 30’. The entire time it’s trying to go into gear it makes a grinding sound as if it’s trying to engage but can’t fully. No noise once it’s in reverse. I adjusted the cable multiple times and all the other gears are good. Any ideas before I pull the transmission?

very interesting! i wonder why u choose HL belt chain not turbo? because turbo use reverse gear not belt. very curious about that!

I used the chain from specialized ATV. There was a supply issue when I did this and there were the only folks that had one in stock.

Does yours have a different size gear on the smaller shaft that meshes with the gear at 25:45?

@@FourwheelerDoctor we found out the customer accidentally ordered a general reverse kit instead of a rzr. Different amount of low gear teeth. We figured it out

If people who always have to throw monster mud tires on these rzr's would put on more sensible tires this would not happen. If you can't help yourself then do the gearbox first with the geared down & beefed-up parts
