Should make a video of how to install gear reduction, reverse chain, and all yall's parts in one! Would be a huge help!
Didn't need to take off as much as you did, but very informative .
Just pulled my 16, xp4 1000 transmission, no need to remove hub assembly unless you got cv shaft issue, just leave castle nut and caliper all together, remove radius rods, sway bar link and shock bolts and trailing arm will pivot enough to get cv shaft out of transmission.
Did you have to remove the whole throttle body or just the air box
Neither, i removed 6 bolts on aluminum block on back of engine, slide block out and transmission slides out, reinstall trans first then reinstall alum block, it has an alignment dowl, look up and torque 6 bolts then go back to transmission mount bolts, its a pain but i reallly dont like touching engine intake parts.
@@Truckman194 thank you man so it’s fairly easy correct? I have broke my output shaft in mine or something
Ya now it is lol, i pulled mine when brg first failed, installed a buddies extra one for a trip my fam had planned then rebuilt mine and pulled buddies back out, and reinstalled mine, ya double work but its all good, i do mechanic work so its just a matter of getting it done, o side note, dont forget to putting something under engine to support when trans bolts are loosened and removed
@@Truckman194 10-4 man thank you I’ll be pulling mine out this weekend
Here it is
There's a tool that aligns the motor pto and tranny input before you tighten trans to motor
make a HD version for the 900, 900S, 1000S, general. I believe they use the same trans with different prop shaft/secondary shaft ends. Anyone with a turf mode explosion or reverse chain failure would just buy your trans. Please make a CV axle cup/slide hammer tool. You would make serious $$.
Is there a need for the clutch alignment tool for aligning the tranny to the engine or just watch the 10.5" dimension and call it good?
I used an alignment tool. Not the cheap one, the SDI one aligns the clutches and makes them in perfectly parallel also.
this transmition is awesome! any plans on making one for the Maverick X3?
No wonder every time my buddies decide to do something to there Polaris transmission there’s always something not right. I keep telling them leave that stuff alone till it breaks. There’s so much to these to removing these transmissions there’s always something wrong when trying to put back together.
It's definitely recommended to leave transmission work to an authorized dealership, but that's not always possible.
Is that driveshaft stock or aftermarket?
Is this about the same process on the general?
It is fairly the same as the General.
What prop shafts are in that machine? No u-joints?
C series
Of course you skipped the part I needed as usual.... lost my lower passenger side trans to engine bolt and can't get the new one to catch that little plate back there for nothing!!!!!!! I think it's bent somehow. If I loosen the top bolt the bottom of the bracket comes in and the bolt will reach it but won't start.
If it won't start into the threads, it may be the wrong thread pitch.
