    I like to spend a few moments of the day watching and listening to your videos.
    I love the band whatever it is and whoever plays!
    Unfortunately we in Italy do not have the diffusion of musical culture like you do, everything is done voluntarily by people who like to play.
    Keep it up, thanks

    A really superb video The picture and sound quality are first rate! This is one of the best Windsor Guard Change videos I have seen recently. Nice to see The Band of the Grenadier Guards in good form and with a full compliment of 40 pieces instead of the usually 35 for these events.

    The band sounds Great! The band also looks Great! I love those red coats. May I ask a question?
    I noticed that most of the bandsmen
    are NCO'S ( sergeants and corporals. ) Does a guardsman need to be an NCO or almost an NCO to
    be in the band? I hope this is not a
    stupid question, as I really am not
    an expert on ranks in the British army. Thank you, for a great video.

  • @bertschalk1798
    @bertschalk1798 Před 2 lety +2

    I'm wondering why some of the barack's guards are standing at attention and do salute the Band and the Guard troops while others (like in this example) are just standing there as if they're waiting for the bus ??? Is there no standard protocol for that...anyone knows ??

    • @militaryevents107
      @militaryevents107  Před 2 lety +2

      If its the regiment at the gate, in this case Coldstreamers, they HAVE to salute, i thought the other ones with blue berets would too, but I guess not.

  • @harveynermlinger1013
    @harveynermlinger1013 Před 2 lety

    I'm a bit confused
    I love watching these videos but I'm confused as to the uniforms. This band in black and red with the buzzbees then there's one where the troops are wearing long coats and calvary helmets then there's another with them wearing a different uniform.
    Are the all different eliments of the cold stream guard or different units rotated in to guard Windsor castle.

    • @keithrudd8003
      @keithrudd8003 Před 2 lety +3

      All different regiments … black and red as you call it are the bands of the Guards regiments (there are 5 ).. and they are bearskins not buzbys, buzbys are small and worn but the Royal Horse Artillery (kings troop) long coats are the winter dress uniforms and Calvary helmets are the Blues and Royals and Household Calvary regiments

      An infantry band at the head of a battalion needs a strong beat to enable all to keep in step. Most bands these days are marching orchestras no good for the battalion column.
