I learned a lot of them. By listening and listening trying to copy them. My personal favorites are James Jameson, Donald Duck Dunn and Marcus Miller.
But what really set my on fire was "Another One Bites The Dust". I hat a new stereo equipement and heard the bass for the first time in my life. And that with this incredible hot and groovy bass line of John Deacon. And another favorite from whom I learned a lot, is Donald Duck Dunn. With the Blues Brothers as with Otis Redding as with Eric Clapton. I saw him live in the 80ies with Clapton. But in the mix, the bass was too low. That means, I could see, what he played, but not hear...

No JJ Burnel ....is there a cooler bassline than Down in the Sewer? I think no. Good list otherwise....like it all.

+Rhodes1966 That is exactly how this works-people like lists, top 10, top 100, or whatever, so they came up with a format to get views, and therefore make some ad money-top 10 this, that and the other thing-doesn't really matter what. All the lists are is just another opinion, no better than any other, and since it isn't mine, a totally irrelevant one.
Obviously any list of great bass lines, solos, bassist bandleaders, etc, ought to include Jaco-otherwise its laughable crap. I have spoken-agreement is mandatory for all humans.
