20 years from now I'll still be watching this iconic movie.
In 20 years, the internet and the means to run technology will no longer exist.
@@MensaGiraffe You know something we don’t 🤨😟

That's what I like about iconic movies....I get older and they stay the same age, haha, yes they do....yes they do.
@@r.j.tindell9728 Yes indeed.
2:48 I always like that short monologue, he’s saying basically saying life is what you make of it.
But he’s a loser who has a crappy job and hangs out with high schoolers…
I feel like a lot of people miss the point of this movie. It’s largely seen as a nostalgia piece, a pining for a bygone time. But in reality, Linklater was trying to illustrate that the “good ol’ days” weren’t very different from the then current days and that kids were just as bored and rebellious in the 70’s as they were in the 90’s.
The
Endless cycle of teenage angst
I really love the themes of this movie. It’s not just a nostalgia piece, yes it’s that but it’s also so much more. Mitch, Sabrina and the other freshman highlight the coming of age aspects of the movie, as they have they experience new things like alcohol, love and teenage angst. Wooderson’s character explores the theme of wanted to re live old times, while Pink just wants to live his life on his own terms, he wants freedom. Many characters also express feelings of confusion as they don’t quite know what they want to do with their lives or how they want their futures to be. So there’s this real contrast of wanting to relive old times and also escape the times that your living.
and, coming from a teen, just as bored and rebellious as they are in the 2020s
I took this movie as a "how to get laid" guide
some things never change
Arguably the movie that put McConaughey on the map, and proved that he was truly a star on the rise! 🌟
It was. I read his book. It’s great btw. He said headlines were titled “The savior of Hollywood” when it came out.
First roll i recognized him was on America's most wanted as a reenactment actor.
It was his first lines on TV.....alright alright alright
@@mikek7029 what do you do for American youth 🤔
@@mikek7029 Why should he? He's an actor and movie star. Almost nobody with that occupation ever has.
And he's now working towards gun control. Given the appalling number of school shootings in the USA: That sounds like a good thing for American youth to me.
"Hey Coach! Remember Me?? 2nd Period Gym Class???" LMAO I literally have an older cousin who looks and acts just like Slater.
Everybody's got a slater 😜
As someone who was there, I can say this movie perfectly captures the mid '70s.
You forgot one. "That's why I like high school girls. I get older but they stay the same age." 😆
That’s not PC for work culture, bruh
YOU DONE MESSED UP A A RON!
Chomo in the making huh? Aaron
@@danielnichols3713 Don't go hating on the movie buddy.
Iconic and at the same time creepy
A movie I can watch over and over and never get sick of! One of my favorites of all time!
best movie!
The entire script is an iconic line. Only Pulp Fiction is in the same ballpark. IMO, obv
I don't wanna hear no muthafucken IFs
It is timeless. Every generation can relate to it. Especially those in my age group for whom this movie.]]
@tom carter I also lived through the 70's. Of course it is a work of fiction, but the filmmakers in my opinion nailed the fashion of the time (velour shirts anyone?), and the look and feel of the movie is just very well done in my opinion.
“ I just want to dance ......🤣🤣😂😂

I paid for the beer man
@@lawrencedockery9032 my man...you already know 🤙🏽😎
I paid for it.
As a member of Pink Floyd;s Class (1977), in a small Southern town, I have to say that is is spooky accurate.
I feel like someone took a movie camera and filmed inside my high school.
demons in people are familiar to mankind............@@lisabrown6361
I would never trade my experience for anything but the 70s seemed so fun
Class of 1978. It was a blast!
The 70’s were fun!
This movie will always be relevant, it's the timeless art of L I V I N
That's what I'm talking about!
1:12 "Ohh d'you hear O'Bannion flunked?" "Yeah what a dumbshit!".😂💀
Watching this movie as I type. Forgot how great it is. Whoever is responsible for the music and the way it’s used in this movie deserves an Oscar. 1976 I was 5 years old. Long live the 70’s!🤘🏻😁🇺🇸🎶
So very many memories from this movie, such a wonderful stroll down memory lane for me. Thank you
I lived it we knocked mailboxes off posts, had 2 clubs in high school that we used to bust freshman butt with boards just like those, hung out playing foosball and pool at many different game rooms. Sure did the beer top flip like they did outside the game room, had a ton of beer bust with kegs and lots of smoke with Ludes, rjs, tuinals, etc So I really can't understand what you're talkin about
These were "THE DAYS".
The daze

one of the best teen movies ever
You been out with those losers all night? Hey coach Conrad, remember me, 2nd period gym class... gets me every time.
One of my favorite movies.
*Class of '76 & '77 because back then... everyone didn't pass on the first attempt!*
This really was what it was like growing up in middle America between 1976-1996 lol.
The laughs after l-i-v-i-n are so real 😂
I grew up during that time.... high school 78-82
Muscle cars were plentiful and cheap....
I had a 69 GTX ....... one of my best friends had a 69 Firebird..... another one had a 73 Firebird and a early 60’s Chevy II/Nova...
In 1980 when I got my drivers license.... all the muscle cars were about 5 to 15 years old and fairly cheap...... and cruising around was the thing...!!!!
sounds like a dream
and gas was 39 cents a gallon! 1966 Mustang here!
This movie will never die.
Ummm how about "ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT"
“u got a joint mann”
" Be a lot cooler if you did " 😎
The Gilligan’s Island conversation in the bathroom not being here is a choice for sure. Honestly, such a great ensemble cast, from the vivacious Darla to the cool Randall “Pink”, this was a picture perfect cast
"heeey watch the leather maan ehhahah"

One of my favorite movies, ever! Great soundtrack, too! "Remember, Aerosmith, two weeks."
Funny thing is to me Matthew Mcconahy did it really come across as that old. Actually two woman who play high school students Parker Posey and Joey Lawrence Adams are older. Compared to the incoming Freshman they all seem older.
The best movie of all time
Martha Washington was hip hip lady!
