- čas přidán 6. 12. 2022
- At the Emporium, Fred (Ben Affleck) hears Carl (Esteban Powell) is being held out back, so he goes to give him licks. However, Fred has fallen right into Carl and the other freshman’s trap as Carl’s friends dump paint on him from the roof.
Film Synopsis:
This critically acclaimed cult favorite, written and directed by Richard Linklater (The School of Rock), explores the last day of school - and one wild night - in the lives of high school students in 1976. Complete with bongs and bell bottoms, macrame and mood rings, and featuring classic rock music by Aerosmith, Black Sabbath and KISS, this superb ensemble cast of up-and-comers (Ben Affleck, Matthew McConaughey, Parker Posey and Milla Jovovich) delivers an enduring film that Rolling Stone called "spectacularly funny!" 1976 was a time they'd never forget…if only they could remember…

Love that he’s lecturing the mom on proper natal diet while she buys cigarettes and booze
70s man. the good ol days
See you tomorrow night!
@@Rob2068 I MISSED THAT PART LMAO 😭😭
Prenatal*
You just don’t know how it is to be FREE, man.
That store clerk knew DAMN WELL that Mitch wasn't 18
Dunno about that! 😂
@@Rob2068 bro i was raised 60's 70's 80's and we had a dude who had a little pop and mom store believe me or not you could buy a joint for a dollar under the counter .
I doubt it. He sold liquor to a pregnant woman. Something tells me he's not very bright.
@@johnyberra5328I don’t believe you
When I was a kid in the 80's I walked down over the hill to get cigarettes for my mom. Was nice cause she always gave me enough to get a couple candy bars, 2 packs of cigs, and still had change left over to keep. She gave me $2. This was when I was 12 - 16 (all 4 of those years, not just a general guessing what age). They didn't "card" people back then. For anything.
Nice of Melvin to give away the entire 6 pack he just bought, and letting Mitch keep the change. He only kept 1 beer for himself.
Lol I saw that too, unlike Ben Afflecks characters, the Black dude ended up being cool l
Well as soon as he heard a keg party at the moon tower he got excited and gave em away cause plenty of booze in kegs
Thats how it should be you bring a 12 pack to the party to share man who ever is stingy with beer ends up having no friends later on in life
He made him buy it to see if the kid had the balls, he didn't really even want the beer
The good vibes of summer just beginning. This movie echos the best moments of youth like no other.
There are more iconic lines in this movie than there are stars in the sky. 😂 “Here’s some more money for your pocket” is such a brilliant and subtle example.
Every single character in this movie…. Has character. They are not there to take up space, but play a three-dimensional person Ieven if they have two lines.
This movie is so re-watchable.
@@theholymackerel072 I couldn't agree more
I love how just yesterday it wasn't censored. Now it is
Love that Affleck almost slips through the paint thing on the floor but stays in character.
He actually rolls his ankle when he smashes his paddle on the ground but doesn't break character at all.
The pregnant woman who's smoking and buying alcohol was Rick Linklater's girlfriend at the time.
He actually broke his ankle @5:31
Dam he really broke his own ankle with that swing!
Actually. Ben Affleck did. Messed himself up good there for real.
Yup. So brutal when you see it.
O'Bannion finally got his paint job
3:59 - When Pink and Wooderson walk out, watch Pink tap him and point and Wooderson's eyes look up. They totally saw the freshmen on the roof with the paint and they weren't going to do a damn thing to stop it. Everyone knew O'Bannion had this coming...except O'Bannion.
I don't really like Ben Affleck, but damn did he nail this part.
Saw this movie with some friends when it first came out on vhs. I remembered his character being a huge dick but had no idea who Affleck was.
Saw it years later with some of the same friends and when Affleck first appeared we laughed our asses off!
That’s the kid who gets pushed around by his “tough” old man at home. Linklater wrote these characters with such depth.
I just found out today that he returns with clean clothes to the moontower party. Ive watched this movie around 8 or 9 times in my life and i always thought his night was over after this because if you blink you will probably miss it but hes at the party too.
Yeah, for years I assumed the O'Bannion leaving in disgrace was his last scene in the movie. When I found out later he was at the party having a good time it kind of takes away from the satisfaction of this scene. O'Bannion should NOT have been participating so actively in the freshman hazing because it was his 2nd year of being a senior because he failed his first senior year. You get the feeling throughout the movie that most of the other seniors don't truly respect the guy for that reason...they just tolerate him. I think it works better if he had left for good after his humuliation with the paint -- and the fact that the other seniors did not prevent the freshman from getting revenge or support him afterwards - by supporting the notion that the paint finally clued him in on his true standing at school.
I never realized he ended up going. Where at what scene do I look for?
As they say- there’s something new you see every time you watch it.
Who said Obanion finally got his paint job! 😂
That was 100% Dawson lmao 😂
@@ladymacca88It sounded more like Floyd. And he did look back at wooderson as if he was saying something to him.
But it’s something Dawson would say.
@@Rob2068It was Floyd 100%
One of the coolest cashiers the world could ever ask for. If criminals can quit robbing and shoplifting and our stores would quit having so many self-checkouts, we can have more cashiers like him. LYAMI!
He probably knows Mitch is underaged. The way he looks at him, I see it that he sees himself years ago a little bit in him.
Linklater write these characters so deeply, even if they had a couple lines. “Here’s some more money for your pocket.”
Do yourself a favor and listen to that full song by Black Oak Arkansas “Lord Have Mercy on my soul”. The beginning is weird and brilliantly mystic.
Love how he's still willing to kick a dude's ass while looking ridiculous 😂
I remember the first time I got served at 15 such a proud moment.... Preceded by so many shameful walks back to the fridge
When you get served underaged for the first time you’re the king of France. The rush of confidence is a one-time thing, but unforgettable.
“Ahhhh sixer”
I just really like seeing movie stars get paint thrown on them as a prank. Can’t fake that reaction.
Good ear, my friend.
Why he didn't run after the first few splashes I will never understand. 😄
I cringe every time he gets into his car covered in paint.
Very true! Some brains aren’t that developed yet.
Shock, he couldnt comprehend what was happening
@@paulrebstock4993 "Watch the leather man"
Yup, they totally caught him by surprise 😂
Affleck s character is the only one who takes pleasure in it. Melvin and Dawson, after he gets the paddle, it's all good
You know its a Mopar when you hear that starter.
Good ear, my friend.
You can really tell it was Ben Affleck by his posture
Dazed and confused love this movie
What Is the name of the song that start to sound in the minute 4:23?
I wish this world was still like that.
We wish we were still 17. That’s the magic of this movie- it captures youth to perfection.
Affleck had it man .
03:19 SOO TRUE!! take from me
Don’t take advice from this lonely 46 year old brokie
Donny’s female advice to Mitch is a pretty cool moment …how lucky he was to have some of the Seniors take him under their wing.
The same clerk that was in “Boyhood” (I knew in the theater when I saw cuz of the glasses and his voice)
It’s funny that the f word is bleeped but bitch is still said…
Bidge !!
you can say bitch on the radio, it's not FAA censored
That Mitch guy is so cute.
I love you scrubby bubbles
Dalm O'Banion shure hates freshmen 😆😆😆 specially Carol and Mitch
Six pack back then was alot. Now days aint nothing lol
ok kiddo
no, it was six, same as today.

I did that
I think my interest in this movie died when my frontal cortex was developed.
or when you found out youre gay?
5:21 LOL Pink spills his or Wood's beer.
None of you Gen-Z kids can understand the freedom of smoking unfiltered cigarettes while seven months pregnant.
Sorry, but you’re not ready to have this conversation. Case closed.

Fah Q
if the black guy made the eight ball why is he giving the money to the white dude?
I think they were playing doubles. Melvin and Wooderson against the other two guys up against the wall. You can see all four of them are holding pool cues.
Yes they were definitely a team. Melvin even gives him a “beer for my partner”.
Yep, they were a team. Melvin even throws the last two beers to the other team and says "good game".
Back then commaradre was legit, didn't matter...we could have a good time without being brainwashed by the media❤
because the black would just spend it on crack if he kept it.
