I really enjoyed the shrinking Godzilla storyline. It allows for so many unique situations for Godzilla to be put in. Him literally fist fighting the human characters is great and how can you not love G vs a sewer rat?
So, the Time Machine is a long time staple of Fantastic Four, going all the way back to issue 5. It's actually Doctor Doom's and they took it from him after their first battle! Just fun little trivia! Also, they're making a Devil Dinosaur animated series soon!
Yeah, a time machine in the Fantastic Four's building is just classic Reed Richards. It's like going into Dr. Strange's home and seeing weird mystic artifacts.
A Devil Dinosaur cartoon... after a 45 year delay. As Marvel let Jack Kirby write/draw Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur because they had hopes their contacts at Ideal Toys and Hanna Barbera would develop a TV series.
1. I actually like the Micro-Godzilla concept. To think of all the situations and adventures Godzilla can go through when being shrunk down the size of a rat …temporarily, of course.
2. There's tons of movies where Godzilla has been acknowledged as a reptile by being called a "lizard", he's based on three different dinosaurs (which were thought to be reptiles for the longest time), and the MonsterVerse Godzilla is a design that went all the way with the reptilian sttributes if that incarnation is anything to go by. So, yeah, Godzilla is a reptile.
(7:49) Well technically. Godzilla did it first since these issues came out in late 70s (1977-1979) and Eastman and Laird wouldn't publish any of their original TMNT comics until 1984 (ironically the year Godzilla made his return) and the cartoon show is what started the trench coat bits so you can technically say the Turtles are pulling a Godzilla.
This is so funny, especially the part where the professor drops the cage. These stories probably would fit in the Showa era Toho universe when Godzilla was a hero and drop kicking Megalon.
Honestly I was expecting a whole being sent back to be the reason as to why he’s frozen in ice in the first comic. effectively making the story a time loop
I didn't even think of that. That's a crazy twist if the story went in that direction.
Godzilla is a amphibious reptile since he both lives on land and lives in water
The original Jack Kirby Devil Dinosaur comics are really fun.
It looked fun from what little I saw of it. Might check it out when I get some free time.
Great review! Lol yeah I wasn't a big fan of Goji fighting the cowboys either. Seems like it was a nod to the Valley of Gwangi film which was awesome though. I don't mind the Goji shrinking thing, I think it made things a bit different and interesting but yeah as long as it doesn't over stay it's welcome
Yeah this is definitely played for laughs, considering you look at Shin Godzilla and what happens when he unleashes that purple beam. You would have had vaporized cowboy.
Godzilla vs Cowboys is such a stupid concept that I was excited as hell. Who comes up with this stuff. They're a genius in the worst, and best ways possible.
I can't pretend to know how this stuff works, but I feel like shrinking Godzilla is the worst thing you could do to contain him. So much of his strength has to just be in keeping himself upright against gravity. Take away all of his weight, and he'd still have ridiculous muscle mass. He could probably leap at someone with force enough to kick off their head.
So finally, Godzilla vs the Thing is an accurate title!
13:57 Funny that you mentioned Gamera, because I would prefer Gamera in Marvel Comics instead of Godzilla.
A banana is radioactive but wont kill you. 10 million banana's is enough to give you radiation poisoning. It all matters how much radiation Godzilla as emitting at anyone time.
There are Batman stories where he loses his costume tho. And stories where Superman loses his powers.
Those stories are cool, it's cool to see a character lose something they took for granted and having to adapt.
The shrinking Godzilla with costume is one of the coolest parts of the comic.
8:30 I kinda love the shrinking Godzilla, at least it’s different. It reminds me of the stories where Superman loses his powers. This let’s you explore more aspects of the character, Godzilla fighting bacteria and gangsters - territorial and badass
Godzilla would totally be considered a reptile, in nearly every iteration he fits the characteristics, numerous times he's even explicitly stated or shown to be some kind of Dinosaur or generic prehistoric reptile. As an added point, I always really liked the cover art of Godzilla fighting the rat. Ever since I saw it in a book as a kid it just stuck out at me, it's actually one of the few marvel comics I own for that reason.
10:08 your not the only one who likes Godzilla shrinking plotline. It's so silly and fun. Plus Godzilla gets to fight a rat. How can you not like this
I don’t persistently like it but it will be cool to see if Godzilla fights an giant rat
@@DinoRicky eh true. We need more giant rats
@@Godzilla-tu2cd We need Godzilla vs Nezura
@@shedjr_ that'll be fun to see
There are a bunch of museums out there that have live animals in them like for example in the back of the Cleveland zoo they have a little wildlife sanctuary with a bunch of wilderness animals
Godzilla vs. Cowboys gives me a Beast of Hollow Mountain/Valley of the Gwangi feel to them.
Best Part Is when J. Jonah Jameson tells Godzilla off
Honestly, I loved the shrinking Godzilla story! I thought it was hilarious and human sized Godzilla was really fun to see tbh.
It felt very nostalgic seeing al three of these vids. I have read the enitre Marvel G comics ever since I was in my very early teens and I love all of them because each issue puts Godzilla in a new situation. That's the cool thing about Godzilla: you can out him in any situation and how he deals with it is why it's so fun.
I LOVE the shrinking Godzilla issues... because it is so insane.
Maybe it's just me, but I really enjoyed the storyline where Godzilla was shrunken. I believe you that it wasn't popular, but this was before the internet, so I can only talk about how I and my friends felt, and we loved it. This was my 2nd favourite storyarc (next to the alien monsters he fought). I didn't know about copyright blues, and I always wondered why other Toho monsters weren't in these comics. That said, I really liked the creative trio of space monsters. This, and Battlestar Galactica were my only real Marvel reads during this time (I primarily collected Action Comics starring Superman, along with a few other Supes comics)
I think of all the various origins of mutated unnamed dinosaur,(Gojira) "godzillasaurus" (heisei films), tyrannosaurus/stegasaurus hybrid (godzilla's revenge), triassic reptile (godzilla), and unnamed prehistoric marine reptile (shin godzilla), mutated iguana (1998): All are technically reptiles.
Lmk if I'm missing a canon origin
If theres no ranch, theres no banditos. Checkmate
You’re the best man! Thank you for these, I really enjoy them!!
I kind of wish Big G fought Fury. Man what a fight that would be..
In defense of the random time machine the FF have, thats a thing they had throughout a lot of older comics. Haha
Yeah, the took off of Doctor Doom.
So that's what happened to Doctor Doom's time machine.
I hear sonic music
Edit: I saw the description and I was right!!!
👍👍👍 keep up the great work 👍👍👍
Your first congratulations 🎈🍾🎉🎊
@@DinoRicky thx 🙏
Oh the crossover😏
Yeah lol
Can you maybe talk about the news of how pacific rim Director Gilman Del Toro wants to have a godzilla and pacific rim crossover and how it would work and how it would not work
Dope stuff
2:50 Man, Godzilla is very sneaky in this series.
Was that what inspired that one lyric in "Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny"? As if that song wasn't already perfect enough as it is, it keeps one-upping itself.
He saw godzilla sneakin up from behind
Nice music dude
The comic panel at 10:06 reminds of a Godzilla themed lighter I once saw. Though I have no idea if it was official or not
They were just trying to make the world safe for McDonald's🍔🍔🍔
Lol
in general I really wish they'd take another crack at a Marvel-Godzilla crossover since now they have a lot more potential and ground to cover given that now they have another 45 years of content to go off of with the big G. But generally I think the upcoming Ultraman-Marvel crossover has more potential than a Godzilla one since a lot of these battles between Godzilla and the Avengers feel very... two-sided, if that makes sense. As in, obviously the Avengers couldn't kill Godzilla, but Godzilla can't kill the Avengers either since they're important characters, where as in Ultraman the kaiju are a bit more vulnerable and squishy (often times kaiju will be killed without Ultraman's intervention) so the fights have a winning outcome. Would still like to see what they could do with reviving the Godzilla crossover. An idea I'd love to see is them tapping into the Spiderverse and having the Japanese Spider-man's Leopardon fight Godzilla...
so smart
Just want to point out henry pym is hank pym’s real name aka the first ant man
Godzilla vs the rat
Coming soon in 2023
Seaworld museum maybe
Yeah, this was the very low part of the comic run. Just random stuff happening to fill up pages. Sort of reminds me of the random stuff that happened in the last quarter of the Dark Horse run. I will say, it is pretty crazy that Devil Dinosaur was part of the "all new, all different" Marvel repackaging from years ago. (AKA lets just swap genders or races of every character to pander). Honestly I didn't mind when that is done to established characters from time to time, but when you do it to everyone at the same time you are pretty much thumbing your nose at an entire generation of fans and comicbook writers and sending a message lol :P
They weren't saving Godzilla from the Sharks!
They were saving the sharks from Godzilla.
Because it was explained if Godzilla and the the sharks wasn't separated ,he could have damaged the shark tank causing more destruction.
Godzilla was defeated in Biollante because he has cold blood.
To me it looks like Godzilla is licking his wound.
1:41
Godzilla radiation isn't deadly except for the first movie and Shin. (Not counting his breath attack)
5:05 I thought he was HANK pym. Did you mixed them up or did the comic maker mix them up?
Hank is a nickname for Henry. They’re the same person.
Is that a Precure Cameo? = 7:46
💯💯💯💯💯!!!
Is there gone to be a movie called godzila vs cowboys
It will have explosions
Directed by Michael Bay. 🤣
Would you actually fight godzilla if he was human size
That fans need to lighten up. Stop taking it so serious. It's mean to make you laugh.
he is a reptile (a dinosaur)
7:44 where's this from?
7:45 sauce for that?!
Too Bad we don't get a Godzilla x Precure movie.
