Using the Yaw Motion Simulator play Gran Turismo 7 is such a blast, I can not wait to be able to use this with some PSVR 2 and GT7.
Its real easy to do, download the Beta latest Beta Branch of Sim Racing Studio, then just go to console, games, and input the ip address from your PS5, PC and PS5 need to be on the same network. With SRS running boot up GT7 on the PS5 click the game in SRS and you are off to the races.

2:02 - I upgraded from the G920 to that Fanatec wheel and pedal combo, and am absolutely _stunned_ by the difference. I'm mostly an iRacing guy, and my driving improved significantly - because (I suspect) the default iRacing setups are tuned _using a direct drive wheel_ - I found that the fidelity around places like "Bumpy Daytona" is increased to an enormous degree. When I'd get in the car with the G920, I'd have to spend probably 30 minutes in my league practice session before a race just fiddling with brake bias and steering ratio in the ARCA and xFinity cars - Now I just get in and drive! The brake bias is perfect for the sensitivity and travel of the pedals, and the steering ratio is "as intended" - I don't need to change the ratio to have the car feel like it has the right combination of accuracy vs. wheel motion.
I was really on the fence, and kept all the boxes so I could ship all the pieces out in case I switched back. Nope. It's absolutely the best money I've spent on simracing since I got into the hobby way back in 2004...
I'm *_hoping_* the Yaw2 Pro takes the crown of "best purchase" away from both the Fanatec wheel and the Valve Index...if/when it ever shows up. My Backer Number seems like it's a loooooong way away still. :D :D :D

    • @RenderedReality

I am so tempted by that fanatec wheel. I really want to order, just hate to spend the money. I may end up doing though. Once I get something in my head, it's really hard to push it out haha.
I am loving the Yaw 2, I was a super early backer. Hopefully yours gets shipped out soon, they are definitely behind on things, and a little annoying they are shipping some pre orders before backers.

@@RenderedReality If you do wind up going with the DD wheel, I might save you a few dollars - I got the McLaren GT3 Wheel and the BMW "round" wheel, thinking I'd likely swap between them for iRacing Road on one, and Ovals + American Truck Sim + Rally sims, etc. on the BMW wheel.
Nope. I haven't taken the McLaren wheel off in months. =) Just skip straight to the one that has all the buttons and switches you could ever want or need, and call it a day. 😃
On the Yaw2, I pretty much want to wait for the Yaw + Gravity platform to be out, so I pinged them this week to see if I could pony up some more cash (I've had a year and a half to replenish my 'toys' fun, y'know?) and bump from the Backer list to the Preorder list, and then order the Yaw + Gravity separate in 2024 when that's finally ready.

-can u tell me how exactly u got the yaw to work with ps5? Does ur yaw connect into ps5 or the pc?
-Does it work fine over wifi or do I have to connect both yaw and ps5 to Ethernet?
Thanks so much and keep videos coming! :)

    • @RenderedReality
      @RenderedReality  Před rokem

Hey thanks, I would think the Yaw 1 would work with GT7 as well, but I can't say for sure.
So I use Sim Racing Studio on the PC, download the beta branch of that. Then get your ip address from your PS5, in settings and connections. Then on Sim Racing Studio, go to the the console tab, and enter in that ip address. Restart the software, then boot up GT7 and click to start GT7 on the software, jump in and it should work.

Loving the Yaw 2 content. I'm still waiting on mine. I know you're not sure about upgrading to a fanatec but the difference is really a stark contrast. I used to have a g27 and with the fanatec there's so much more nuance in feeling the wheel slipping or resistance. I upgraded around the time I preordered the yaw2 to "complete the experience." Got the shifter and elite pedals too. Only thing I don't have is an e-brake. But yeah, it's a lot of money to go all out... especially if you're not a hardcore racer.

@RenderedReality Just out of curiosity I have the same setup with the xbox wheel using that brooks ras1ution converter. When using on ps5 the ocilation is terrible meaning on the start finish line the wheel jerks itself back and forth by itself without hands on the wheel I was thinking it's gotta be because it's a xbox.wheel on a ps5 so I was wondering if yours does the same and if you have a workaround or a settings fix you've come up with. Thank you 😊

That Yaw looks a lot of fun Shaun! 😁 Your Logitech G920 is probably a good match being light weight, the DD wheels will add a tonne more inertia. That Brook PS wheel emulator looks handy too. It's Interesting it doesn't need a Sony controller to authenticate itself, like the Drive Hub emulator does, so it must have a PlayStation validation chip inside it. I imagine Sony may cotton on at some point, so your viewers might want to grab one whilst they can unless it is totally legit haha.
