As a former theme park employee, I can appreciate that they encourage using the tester seats outside the rides. It's not as easy as one thinks to loose weight... we have sugar companies and health companies who artificially manipulate foods to be addictive. Obviously our grandparents did not even have this problem of willpower.... foods were not addictive back then. And natural foods are usually flavourless or have one flavour or two at best.
And when lawyers and NGOs address these issues from legislative perspectives... these companies drown them under a mountain of lawsuits. In the USA especially...

Had to get surgery for mine, but I went down from 330-227, I'm back up to 257 after my mom passed, and I decided to go back to the gym. No excuse to be fat for anyone, especially me.
I really need to hammer this to my parents. Trying to watch my diet and work out. So far I think I plateau for a bit. My mom goes on about my weight but panics when I do eat a lot when I go to their house for our weekly family dinners. My dad is trying to lose weight for my sister's wedding in the fall and wants me to join in. But his idea of weight lost is only taking apple cider vinegar pills. To be fair to my dad he recently had some heart stents installed and he is active in his garden, but every time I see him he's laying down watching TV. I think they got it into their minds they are too old to work out and too set in their ways to change their diets despite all their talk of changing it.
Same here. I'm at 130kg / ~286 pounds and started my weight loss 2 weeks ago. I can't fathom how people come up with the "I just love myself" argument while literally feeling your body killing you (bad sleep, bad breathing, hurting joints, etc.)

I usually like your videos a lot but this one felt a bit meanspirited. I don't get a sense they glorify "fat acceptance". Admittedly they are eating some unhealthy food on camera, and this is far from ideal. I don't see them defending being fat, or glorifying it. I see them mostly reviewing the fit of seats and rides. Maybe they are "health in any size" proponents, and I'm wrong? But this isn't clearly conveyed. There are fat people. There are many reasons they become fat ranging from unrelated health issues, abuse, the food culture in the US in general, the car culture, the office culture and yes, "personal accountability." I don't see this group of women as the problem. I don't see them saying this is a good thing.

I miss your documentaries.
I agree with your stance that these people are incredibly unhealthy and should be trying to take steps to improve their health. However, your "just lose weight!" comments are not helpful. I'm a 46 year old guy and I've been fat my whole life. I'm currently 6'5" and 290. I've tried many times to lose weight and I've even been as "low" as 265 but cannot maintain it. I go to the gym a couple times a week, I live in a walkable part of town and try to walk anywhere I can. I've been prescribed multiple weight loss medications by my doctor but my insurance won't cover ANY of them and I can't afford the extortionate $600-$1000 a month to pay for those medications. I don't eat fast food and try to only cook my own dinner most nights and try my best to eat healthy. The weight is just infuriatingly stubborn and refuses to leave and stay gone. Some of us are legitimately trying our best. Now I'm not saying these creators are trying at all, but it's not as simple as "just lose weight fatty!"
Monitor what you eat in a week, but don't obsess and track calories. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, track it. The next week, cut out 10-20% from each meal while being active. If you drop too many calories too fast, or exercise too much your body freaks out. YOU know when you'll eat, your body doesn't. If there is a sharp change in diet, or a missed meal, you body will store almost all of that next meal as fat. It puts it away for safe keeping because it has no idea when its next meal is.
If you maintain the consistent 3 meal schedule, those become your maintenance calories. When you gradually take away calories from each meal your body goes "hey, we need a little more to keep us going" and it'll take from your fat storage. If you take away too much your body will just bypass the fat storage and begin eating your muscles, as that's a much faster source of energy.
To be vehemently clear, this is what worked for me when I was faced with the same dilemma. I'm by no means a dietician, so don't take my word as gospel. Taking pills or following trendy diets are a waste of your time. No food magically cuts weight, a deficit of it does. You cannot and will not EVER outrun a shit/inconsistent diet. If you're not at least coconscious with what goes in your body, your body will never change. You mentioned eating healthy, but I fear that's such a blanket statement. You could substitute 2k cals worth of shit food for healthy food and it'll still be 2k cals worth of food. You're still not in a caloric deficit.
Also, your body literally doesn't need sugar to survive (processed sugar) unless it's naturally occurring in what you consume (fruit). Soda, Coffee, and Alcohol are a real killer too. You're older so your metabolism has slowed down. Even the pace at which you eat can help you eat less as well (if you eat slower your body has time to process what it just consumed and tell you "no more"), which in turn would help you cut out calories like I mentioned in paragraph one. I believe you're trying your best, and I hope you can at least take something away from this. You've got this!
The key is to continue, even when you have a setback. Many people believe they have to do things perfectly, and when they fall short-they give up. Continuing is the key to success.
Yea this video didn’t feel supportive at all. In fact shame and emotional discomfort are what drive most people TO EAT. It’s a coping mechanism. I don’t know why it’s trendy to be so mean to chubbsters lol.
“It’s because I care” no you don’t dude.
Idk, I think I’m on the hoppers side here.
The video where they addressed the negative comments didn’t strike me as them saying fat is healthy or beautiful or anything like that. It seems to me that they’re simply saying fat people exist, and while they exist they should be able to engage in hobbies they love. Their hobby happens to be Disney parks and they’re sharing information that people in similar situations might find useful.
I think your point about obese people having no shame is completely wrong. Most morbidly obese people have immense shame and have been shamed for a large portion of their lives. Some people choose to live how they want in spite of the shame, some people let shame spiral into self-hatred, and some people actually don’t feel shame at all (but I think this is rare). You can encourage people to live healthier lives without shaming them. When people are addicted to drugs or alcohol, we don’t say “you can’t enjoy your hobbies, connect with others, or have fun until you’re completely sober” because we know that’s counter productive. But somehow we think that shaming and isolating fat people will help them lose weight.
Shame may motivate some people to lose weight, but many people will fail and the shame will get even worse with nowhere to direct it except at themselves. Having failed, the shame makes them feel like like a failure, like losing weight is impossible for them, and probably drives them to turn to food for comfort, the exact OPPOSITE of what people were allegedly trying to accomplish by shaming them. A much better approach, in my opinion is to encourage people to lose weight out of a sense of self-love and self-compassion, rather than self-hate.
Thank you and very well said. This video and comment section are just hateful for no valid reason and it sucks to see him put this out quite frankly

Somewhere along the way, the modern message of self love got twisted into "healthy at every size" and that is a dangerous mindset. Loving yourself should include working to better yourself, and health is a part of that. At my heaviest I was around 250 lbs, and was MISERABLE at that size! Losing weight was something I never thought I would accomplish, but managing to bring my weight down to 175 lbs was one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
It baffles me how anyone as big as these women can delude themselves into not only accepting their size, but embracing it. There's nothing enjoyable about being obese.
It's like anything that's horrible and destructive for your health. Steroids, alcohol, drugs, smoking, an*rexia/weight loss - based eating disorders etc. You cannot convince nor force someone to change. Even if death is staring them in the face. Here, the wires got crossed between "don't treat fat people like subhumans and bully them" and "obesity is okay and totally normal." *Sigh.*
Social programming.
American diet just sucks waaaay too much, you don't get half a country looking like that on "coincidence".
I agree with you on the idea of self love getting twisted. You can love yourself, still recognize certain things could be better, and work to improve them. It seems that these “fat acceptance” people missed that for some reason (maybe to shield fragile egos, fear of change, laziness, or just plain narcissism).
@@cubefreak123 fear of change and putting the effort in is the usual suspect. It's very easy to become complacent and the bigger you get, the harder it is to muster the willpower to change.
I told myself "I'll never let myself get to 200 lbs" but eventually I just kept moving that goal post. I'd be at a drive thru almost every day telling myself "I've gotta stop" but it wasn't enough to just say it.
The thing about weight loss, and Phil points it out, is that small/gradual changes are really all it takes. I still ate the food I craved, just less of it, and slowly worked in better choices.
That's actually the BEST way to do it. So many people fail because they try to pull a sudden 180 on their diet which is usually way too much of a change for their mind and body to handle at once. It's easier to cut back on certain foods than to outright quit eating them right away.
Also a lot of people start exercising while making NO changes to their diet and wonder why they aren't losing weight. Exercise is good, but most weight loss will come from dietary changes. For me, I lost the weight almost entirely just through calorie deficit alone.
Your heaviest weight is my maintenance weight lol. Bdw sitting comfortably at 105~108kg, and that's with high volume high intensity compound work and a relatively clean diet lmao
It didn't happen at Disneyland, but in the early 2000s I was so big I couldn't fit on the roller coaster, two workers had to try and put me in but it wouldn't fit so I had to get off in front of everybody after sitting in line for an hour. Being overweight is objectively unhealthy and people need to look after themselves.
But being obese doesn't all of a sudden give everyone free reign to give you verbal abuse over your physical appearance.
Burning up someone's mental health in an attempt to make them change their physical health is counter productive.
Smoking is objectively unhealthy, but nobody starts unloading into smokers about their habits.

It's difficult to believe that you have any concern or care regarding these people's health. You spend much of your time and platform making unhelpful, and I am sure hurtful jokes about their being overweight and living in an unhealthy manner.
It’s called JOKES. What do you think this is, a therapist?
Here's my take. I think it's rude to shame someone for their weight among several other health issues one might have. However, you should not be proud about being unhealthy. It's not something to celebrate, and one should take measures in their own hands to improving their health. This includes both mental and physical health. Not only does it prolong your life, it also helps you avoid financial dependency upon hospital visits. Going to the gym, going for a hike, a walk, a jog, etc is you taking measures to improve almost every basic health issue you may have in the future. Common sense.
The thing is that people are very egotistical and self absorbed. Instead of being proud of your body, and how much it can accomplish as you stated. Most big people tend to think "I'm proud of this body so there is no need for change." Which ultimately develops into arrogant close minded individuals like the ones in the video.
It's a snake eating itself at the end of it all, they think it's ok to be big with no change, so they grow an ego, the ego starts to bother people... especially when broadcasting it to the world, they get ridiculed, they get mad and continue to be ok with no change. I'm sure it's more complex for others, no doubt, but this is fairly common, would you agree?
I took you as someone who was somewhat intellectual, but when it comes to this you've completely missed the mark with many points and have gone against health advice and the science of weight loss. We should not promote being obese as healthy or desirable, but weight loss is not a trivial thing and if you could simply shame people into losing weight there wouldn't be any overweight people.

Atleast they are enjoying life, choosing to share it with the world, making some money on the side for the time they have left.
I d rather do what phil does than go to disneyland to review seats
Imagine a Heroin user going and reviewing bridges that have the best views and over time advertising hotels that give free rooms because they prefer when you OD it’s not in the front
I agree they are outside but statistically they are going to die much sooner than if they had not accepted their weight
The foundation of the message is that these women are allowing others to feel as though they don’t need to lose weight because the world is establishing a norm allowing for it .
SO phil makin videos a certain amount of hrs a day for 1 or so vid a week means he doesnt go outside and have fun with family and friends??
thats a strawman. you are low iq.
Fair point
@@xy-te9db they don’t only review chairs! They have fun and give advice about what to do as a bigger person! He just showed all the food videos
So as a normal size person can I book the XS seat and just have no one sit next to me? Lol
The problem isn't me, its everything around me
ymh got to them for sure with that Netflix roast comment 😂😂
The fats have gone too far!
Big got bigger
You'd think they'd have lost some weight with how far they went 😂
They cosplay the Death Star, or the Starkiller Base?
bro im 6'3" and i am cramped in every seat unless i pay $100 to upgrade. and you know what? IVE NEVER COMPLAINED ABOUT IT.....
Yo, I really like the regular uploads. The boi is back. Missed you for some time man, happy to see you doing well
Maybe I’m an idiot but I assumed Disney would have plus sized accommodations. It would be wild for Disney to not be “inclusive” at one of their parks.
Anyone who is trying to convince you that they are happy and in doing repeat it ten times is not happy just trying to gaslight themselves.
obesity should be treated like any other disease, with professional help and support, not by shaming them. fat people know how they look and know they are fat, you screaming at their faces that they are fat and ugly won't help them, it will cause more problems, a system that provides support from doctors and psychologists on the other hand will. we don't say to someone who has any other serious disease "just don't be sick bro" or "you suck for being sick" we send them to the doctor and give them meds. there are many other systemic reasons that make people gain weight too, like the way our foods are made or how the worst type of food is cheap while the healthier options costs more or that there is no awareness about diet and finally the state of the world, with many people being depressed and unfulfilled due to poverty, social media etc. if shaming them or telling them "just don't eat" worked, we would have solved the obesity problem by now, so maybe we should try something else instead.
ye thats kind of hard when they perceive every comment as critique due to feeling shame of themselves.
"just stop eating" is a hyperbole to an extent because it means just enter caloric deficit and you WILL LOSE WEIGHT. Its that simple.
And no that doesn't mean stop eating and start running marathons like fat people like to perceive it.
You know what your body does when it doesn't have regular food source every day???? IT BURNS YOUR FAT AWAY TO KEEP YOU ALIVE.
You don't need 3 meals a day if all you do is sit home and do nothing. If you already eating 3 times a day not every meal has to be super XXL size with extra sugar drinks and other redundant shit.
Except the issue here is morbidly obese people who think it’s everyone else who has the problem for not accommodating them at their size, not that they have a problem.
Therapy won’t do anything for a person in denial about having a problem in the first place.
Nah there’s absolutely no excuse to be fat
if they can afford constant travel and eating out at disney, they can afford healthy foods.
If you can afford to go to disney world and eat there, you're not poor.
If you live in America, and not a 3rd world country, you have access to the internet and information about foods/diets/exercise.
If you're not a kid, you know full well how different foods impact your body.
You can't just expect an adult to pretend that eating doughnuts and chips will make their body feel the same as a chicken salad.
The cheap food thing is an excuse, since most of the obese people consume a good quantity of shitty foods, which would equal a lighter but healthier meal.
People often complain about fruits and meat prices, but if they'd cut out all the shitty processed/sugary foods, and trade them for real ones, they'd be far healthier and eat less by default.
Every time she said “are you dying to get into” I’m like NO but YOU ARE lol 😂
Imagine staring a new character and they give you just 1x skeleton, where you have the option to select and put fat and skin on it starting from 2x up to 5x…
We see, we click, we dominate
Lmaooooo “you forget people on this planet, when you become a planet.” I am fucking deceased lollllllll😂
"Guys im happy, i swear!!"
Park sized plus hoppers had me 😂
If we ever had a zombie apocalypse break out in the United States, many zombies would simply be too preoccupied with plus size people to do any harm. On the other hand, if plus size people were to become zombies, they would get stuck in a lot of doors...In that sense, it would be a very disappointing apocalypse indeed.
Well at least thinner people would get away from them 😂 now i want to see this zombie movie being made 😂
I worked at a grocery store that has electric bikes for overweight people. They are some of the meanest people I have ever seen. If you don’t have a certain meat or bakery that will yell at you. Fat people are suppose to be jolly. You can’t be mean and fat pick a struggle
I agree. Pick one mean trait not both. I'm overweight but I try to be pleasant ro people 😂
100 years ago being fat and jolly was a thing. Being fat on modern food upsets your GI tract and makes you mentally unwell.
"fat people are suppose to be jolly" Imagine getting your real life perceptions of groups through 90s movies cliches.
@@jacobtodd7347 yes, why are fat people so mean nowadays. You can’t get your favorite food so you can scream and yell at people. You can throw groceries at people. You can say nasty things to people because you’re angry you’re fat.
What you hear when you die and enter through the gates of hell:
"Hey everyone, we are plus-size park hoppers, we range in sizes from 2X to 5X..."
''so this is what they mean by disney plus'' I died here XD
the gluten-free one is probably the lightest one out of the herd
Hehe herd 😂
…ha…years ago, at a bar with a friend…group of girls walked in..he turned to me “welcome, Marshal University”…..ha
Ten seconds in, and i had to take a minutes long break.
Dude, what in the South Park plotline did i just hear?
My boyyyyyy of culture 😂
Imagine how terrified the Disney employees must have been down in the tunnels as they all jumped for joy above.
No one touched the heathy end of the baffuet. 😂😅😂😂
16:10 "I hOpE tHeY aCcOmMoDaTeD yOu" I'm dying 🤣
As a fat guy who is not that fat: "Just put the fucking fork down"
"Ham planets" was out of pocket 😆
"We've grown thicker skin..."
Me : Checks out!
I mean this with love they are not plus size they are multiplication size.
People arent fatphobic, nature is
The water splashing out of the hot tub😂😂🤣🤣👌
"..when you become the planer" ffs Phil I'm dying here
I'd imagine the job of tending the food troughs at Disney would be Phillions personal Hell.
Im doing portion control and i dont eat past 8 and ive already lost 10lb within 2½ weeks
It really is easy
Bro I sat there and rewinded the piglet part where you laughed over and over for an hour.
they said we deserve to see this. no. no one deserves to see this.
You're right. Phillion shouldn't have subjected us all to such a shit video. He should do better
my thing is no one wants a random mf telling them how to live their life period, you don't see someone smoking on your day to day then walk up to remind them of the effects. it's obvious and not your place or your business most likely
It’s a problem when the fucking plane can barely take off from the belugas on board
Let’s hope it’s not a Boeing either since the fucking landing gear with fucking break upon landing from that weight.
See a lotta people hopefully have friends and family who arent enablers and will tell them the way they are living life is killing them.
@@DeaconPain Their* life, not yours at the end of the day. It's your loved one but you can't control anyone
I agree to a certain degree when it becomes a problem where they are constantly having to be extra cared for and have accommodations for their weight then it doesn’t just affect them. Also there is a lack of self discipline and accountability that allows people to get that big.
@@ernestovalencia8227 the chances of that aren't very likely in most cases though, most people don't know anyone in that severe of a situation and like you said "self" discipline. Nothing to do with you, I have more self discipline than my cigarette smoking cousin and ofcourse I want him to stop, we all know effects and what can come of it but that's his choice. This is definitely less detrimental atleast
Without a doubt they need to lose weight and change, but I dont think the hate they get in their comments is helpful. No point in shitting on people who are already likely shitting on themselves.
Shame is an evolved response. It has a powerful purpose. Behavior modification, behavior that threatens the survivability of the tribe. Which overweight, slow people do.
“If I fits I sits”
Wonder if they fit in a coffin ?
Not the disney plus 😂😂
