I have the one , love it. I put a electrical ( normally open switch on handle) so when handle is down the saw won’t start. Plus ,I ran a relay switch inline with on/off switch so the lamp will not be illuminated. Use 20 amp components for build. Happy times is wood working

A simple fix, attach a small flag to the tension bar that sits on the table when the bar is down and off the table when the bar is up.

A micro switch on the blade tensioner would prevent it from starting with the lever down. Rub a piece of scrap wood on the blade to stop it.

Nice honest review Mark. Thanks for sharing all your thoughts, both the good and bad. I have the same saw and like it quite a bit, although I did modify the fence, dust collection system and add a small outfeed table. I walked into a woodcraft store and the employees had tied a red shop rag around the tension release handle. I did something similar with a red pipe cleaner wrapped around the handle. That way I never forget to tension the saw.
Hey thanks again, I enjoyed the video.

It's a very easy fix for that tension bar. Just attach a stick with a red cardboard sign on it that sticks right in the path behind the blade. Just dollar store stuff.

One of the first things you should have pointed out was that stupid light. That plate underneath to help collect dust looked a little annoying as well. It's gone up over $500? like everything, research just makes it even harder to find the right fit. I was leaning towards this model, but not so sure now.

I leave the upper door open a little bit. When I go close it before turning it on, it reminds me to tighten the tension.

“Caution yellow” duct tape on the tension release handle would make it more visible, and nothing dangling down to get caught when you’re working. Update: Another thought, make a magnetic sign (like a fireplace damper open/closed sign) to put on the table, the upper wheel door or beside the power switch to remind you before you start it up.

Get rid of the guide blocks and purchase a set of Carter upper and lower bearing guides. Fully adjustable and they will help make your cuts be much more accurate. Then watch Alex Snodgrass set up a bandsaw here on CZcams. You will be amazed how much you like the saw then.

Put a red bandanna on the handle
