  • Long Term review of the Laguna 1412 woodworking bandsaw after 5 years of use. This is a good general purpose steel frame 14" bandsaw with excellent resaw capacity.

I bought a 1412 about 5 years ago. It has had a lot of use and I have been very happy with it. I like that I can put a 3/4" blade on it and make pretty significant resaws all the way down to smaller blades and cut tighter curves if I want.

Yeah, my old cast iron bandsaw maxed out at a1/2" blade, so I appreciate a 3/4" blade on the 1412. Thanks for weighing in.

Nice timing for this video. Two days ago, I made the decision that my next tool purchase was going to be a standalone bandsaw, and I've been looking heavily at this very Laguna model. Thanks!

Are there any adjustments for squaring the table to the back of the blade (for joinery), or is that a matter of shimming the table? Any adjustment for aligning the whole blade guide column to the blade? (minor annoyances from my current Delta cast iron saw)

Well the blade is in a fixed position and the table tilts to set 90 degrees. There's a dead nut to return to 90 each time you tilt it. No adjustment to skew the blade left or right, that would be a fence adjustment. I use mine all the time for notching and it works great for that. Best.
