DISCLAIMER: For ranks such as Bronze and Supersonic Legend, there were not as many responses in the poll so many stats for those ranks were calculated based on the trends of the rest of the ranks. They are still accurate, however.
I found a ton of interesting Rocket League stats about its player base and organized them in a way that you can compare yourself to them to see if you're truly better than you're rank. Do you progress faster or slower than most players? Are you more toxic or less toxic than most Rocket League players? Do you practice and train more or less than most players? You'll find out all of that in this video!

I'm really curious what the average time per game is. I did the math for my own stats and it comes out to 4 minutes and 25 seconds... which means there's a LOT more forfeits than over times.
Definitely a rank-dependent statistic. I bet there’s less forfeits in low ranks (silver to plat) bc they just play regardless of the outcome.

I dont know when high rank for you starts but I have a waiting time of around 15 to 20 seconds on around gc2 to gc3 - not really insane. It has more to do with the fact that already set up packs are more a thing of memorizing stuff and after the second or third attempt you hit everything since you already know the exact trajectory of the ball - so you rather go into freeplay where you always have to use your own set up, which will never be the same. This way you also learn to recycle bad set ups or just recover from them.

as someone who's played on and off for about a year and reached c1 in like 550 hours, I think the best ways to improve for new players are to grind free play. maybe 30-40 minutes of free play, then play 1v1s or 3v3s. I find you improve your boost management, shot selection and defense in 1v1s and you improve positioning, rotations and reading plays in 3v3.
i got it in 200 but then i got knocked back to d2, now im happily hardstuck at c2 with 800... Got diamond literally just after my first season, then hard sturggled to get champ 1 before the 2nd, but 4 seasons later im still champ... what a difficult rank for me... just them tricks i need to learn but i cba ever using training :D

@@MrOrangeonion that’s crazy i just started playing rl last 3 days of last season I got diamond 2 after 10 games maintained it until the season ended… got diamond 2 after 10 this season then ranked down 2 plat 2 and haven’t played since… so I’d say in about 50 games I got diamond 2 twice got to plat 2/3 then stopped playing the game in general but next season I plan on maintaining diamond I just need diamond teammates😂
@@mugetsu9548 all i do is just play games, dont ever use training, well a tiny bit, thats the only reason my hours wernt big, but yeah now i really need to learn, but im incapable of doing those spins in the air to do flip resets and tricky shots, im just sticking to double taps on wall for now, youll get diamond man, diamond isnt easy to break into but you dont need great skill to get into it, good gamesense and rotation can, but then again, its hard if you got greedy teammate. Yeah, but games are more acurate in my opinion. I personally have played 1400 games but have 370 hours, due to being afk a lot (d1)
I've been saying for a while that low champ ranks are by far the most toxic because people hit champ and suddenly forget they still suck.
I hit Champ and got to C2 and realized it just wasn't worth playing with toxic tm8s and deranked intentionally back down to around D1 to D2 and have a much more enjoyable time playing.

I'm C1 (briefly hit C2) in duos at 641 hours. I never grind the game, but usually play for a couple hours 2-4 days a week. I also rarely train. I use free play in between matches, I've tried a couple custom training packs, and I downloaded one of the ball dribbling maps that I worked on for a couple weeks awhile back. My mechanics are pretty basic for a C1, but I feel like I'm pretty solid at rotations for my rank.

Grinding from April to now I’m a diamond 1 pushing to 2. Total of 75 hours played, mostly 2s and then 3s with the right teammate. Started off as a gold 1 and it wasn’t easy. As long as you train, understand mechanics and try something new each week you’ll advance

I got diamond with 300 hours in 6 months, I’m very bad at the game, but beginning this year I didn’t know a thing ab rocket league, and now I’m just amazed on how much I learn and still have so much more to learn, I think that the key to not get bored is to set easy goals so you always feel like something is improving.

First off, love the video! I like how this video does talk about games at least compared to other videos that talk about how many weeks/years it took to get to a certain rank. Also, many of your videos don’t just give a tip but give guidance behind it (like your dribbling video with a custom map).
Speaking to videos that talk about weeks/years to a rank. There is no way to know if I put 40 hours a week into the game or 6 hours. So to me your use of games played is a much better representation of ranking.
With me I hardly get game time and like learning so I spend a decent amount in customs. So, to me, not knowing the use of your time outside of the game total skews the progression.
I honestly expected to be below average, really glad to see I'm not! Seriously awesome video, I notice when videos are made in a rush or have low effort and you sir.... Did not do that! Keep up the great work

That’s wrong, champ in rumble is mixed, I’ve seen people doing flip resets in rumble, it’s a mixture between real champs and plats-diamonds

Started playing in late 2021, have accumulated about 120 hours of playtime and just got the diamond season reward and got quite close to D2, something I'm quite proud of.
One thing about extra modes, is that the players rely on powerups (in rumble) more than their skill.
For example if my and my tm8s go into rumble and keep scoring at the first 10 seconds they cant do anything because they don't know how to counter the shots and stuff.Unlike 2s and 3s where its essential to know how to counter each play.
you have to know how to use the power ups effectively tho. what's a plunger good for if you take the incorrect angle? obviously the precision matters more at the higher ranks

I really wish there was a way to filter career stats by game type. If you play a lot of 1v1 specifically it can make your overall stats look misleading. It's going to inflate your goals per match and massively lower assists (as it's impossible to get them in 1v1). Would also be cool if you could filter between casual and competitive.
I instinctively looked for trainings when I first started playing (I knew to from other competitive games like Smash), so that helped me learn super quick & also came across your channel. 671 games in & just got to Plat I. Appreciate the tips you give g 🙏🏾
I got to gold in 450 games. And now every match I play i have around 200 ping +

i started playing rocket league again after a year without touching it, played 10 games and just got from unranked to plat, fun thing i never got past plat cuz i focused too much on looking like a good player not being one, now that i just use basics ranking up has been easy
The reason people climb faster when playing extra modes is because it forces you to do fancy stuff and its actually fun. Fun is super relevant when it comes to climbing and getting better!

As a Silver 3 in 1s and Gold 1 in 2s, I can confirm the toxicity of the Gold area. I know from experience. I’ve seen quite a lot of toxicity in these ranks. From constant spam even after telling them to stop, to just outright not fun players.
Oh dude it gets ridiculous in Plat. Plats think they're good. Then in diamond its pretty toxic in D1 but levels out around D2/D3. I can't speak for champ as I'm only ever been champ in 1's and 1's is generally the most relaxed of all playlist irrespective of rank.

@@kalordalknl1806 Plat to me has the greatest skill disparity. You could have one teammate that barely understands rotation and incapable of aerialing then have another teammate who can ceiling shot. By diamond "everyone" is at least component, but game selling whiffs still occur with startling frequency.

I started playing RL when it became free to play in 2020 and I'm already champ 2, training packs really helped and obviously free play.
@@BrunoJF0804 another thing that helped me was playing with a friend who is a higher rank, my friend was GC and when i was diamond he smurfed so i could get a taste of champ, so yeah i was a diamond playing in champ but it made me learn quicker the champ level and now i myself am champ 2 which is great 👍🏼

For the f2p players thats about 10x worse than bronze is today. Some bronzes today can ariel. In 2016 a prospect could LITERALLY only drive forward and jump. Thats it

Hoops ranks above diamond 3 is crazy. I routinely see players in diamond 3 with grand champ banners or champ tournament winner banner. Its usually we win 7-0 or lost 0-7

well this has made me feel good about myself lmao. I played quite a bit on release, but maybe a week ago I got it off of epic and got a new profile and what have you, did my placements got gold 3, played with some friends for a few days who are both champion then I just played solo queue 2s and went from gold 3 to plat 3 in a couple of hours, pretty much winning every game. It's funny a lot of these plat players have way better mechanics than me, I've been away from the game for years and years, but I know how to rotate and also I have gotten used to the pace of diamond/ champion games so the plat games just seem really slow and I have loads of time to make decisions and such.

53 hours, hit play 3 div 4. Feelin good. Pretty comfortable on the ground, just need to improve ANYTHING involving the air/air control & I think I can comfortably move onto diamond :~)
I play in Champion 1/2 atm and i think that the toxicity comes from the discrepancies between Game Sense and Mechanics. Some Players are in Champion 1 only by Game Sense and some only by Mechanics. Sure Game Sense Player must have mechanics and the other way around but they are not on champion level. These two type of players totally don't understand the playstyle of one another because they diverge so much that they can't read theire own teammates and expect them to be somewhere else.
That's why i started to develop a sense for reading if my teammate can read me if not i play more passive and play into his playstyle to not confuse him. This led to way less toxicity and better Winrate overall. By playing passive and reading your mate you learn so many Skills: Defense, Shadowing, 50/50s, Passing, Reading, Setting Up, Controlling, Spacing, Rotation.

Where'd you get the statistics for the intro? The number of matches specifically. I got to Platinum 3 after my placements and got to Champ 1 after about 100-200 games.

I really appreciate how he took time to determine and balance the validity of the data in an attempt to eliminate any unnecessary bias and potential false data skews. That goes a long way 🙂

The data might be biased, but I honestly doubt it. if he got enough people to fill out the survey it shouldn't be too much different from the general player population. Surveys like this will probably always be a little thin on the lower end, since people only start engaging with content for a game once they themselves become invested in it. But then again, the majority of interesting conclusions he drew from the data are only applicable or relevant for Platinum and upwards anyway.
Biggest tip: own up to the mistakes you make. I see so many players always blaming tm8s and never realizing they are a problem and I’m telling you if you just start owning up to ur mistakes and you work through your natural platos you will keep getting better.

Yeah. I just hit champion in rumble while last season was my first season touching diamond. I think i got to diamond 2 in 2v2 but its not like I was constantly playing to get higher.

I thought the toxicity would decline when I climb up in rank. But the champs really are the most toxic of them all. I even deactivated chat several times to ignore their bs lol.
