- The History of Arendelle is much more than just a recap of Frozen I & II. In this video timeline we'll dive deep into Frozen lore that spans novels, comics, podcasts, and more! This video is made in close association with the Arendelle Archives, a group of Frozen superfans who've mapped out the lore and history very well. Find links to download some of their resources below! This video is also made in collaboration with @ModernMouse and Josh Taylor plays a new in-universe Frozen character, named Josh Taylorson, a Royal Historian of Arendelle.

Disney, if you’re watching this and you’re ever in need of a chronology/continuity guy for any of your projects, please reach out!
Thanks for having me! It was fun to be of Arendelle's history.
Your inclusion made this video so much better than it otherwise would’ve been. Thank you!
Imagine how much more lore will come out once Frozen 3 and 4 release.
Genuinely cannot wait!
You are quite possibly the most detailed and dedicated chronologist of the platform, and these deep dives are immensely appreciated.
That’s the best comment I’ve received in a while. Thank you so much.
Great video Dakota!
Thanks Vactor!
“For the first timeline in forever”
10/10 script. Sold. 👏👏👏👏. Genuinely an amazing line 🤣
lol! I’m so happy my puns aren’t going unnoticed!
Thank you so much for making this video!
I absolutely Love the world of Disney princesses and this video made me very happy!! 😃
Awesome! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for making this Dakota! ⛄️ ❤
No problem! Thanks for the comment.
Lord Peterssen was Regent of Arendelle until Elsa was crowned. This is stated in Conceal, Don't Feel: A Twisted Tale. He isn't mentioned in other books that I know but I include him.
Thanks for the comment! It’s true, Peterssen is regent in that book, but I chose not to include anything in it due to the author considering it AU, or an alternate universe. But it probably is Lord Peterssen!
Amazing video, Dakota and Josh! Didn´t expect anything less than a great and visually stunning timeline!
So much lore, so much history! It's great to see these stories being strung together to make them make more sense. I didn't know there were so many tales and stories and lore! I'm excited about Frozen III and IV, I would love it if they delved deeper into the history of Arendelle, its foundation, maybe Aren as well! Also, I do believe that Tangled and Frozen can occur within the same universe and time period. I like to believe so, it makes their worlds bigger and enhanced!
I grinned so hard at the first "I wanna get this right" and enjoyed the rest of the references to song lyrics haha
Long live the timeline!
Thanks so much for the kind words!! Haha, happy you caught all the hidden song lyrics! Glad you enjoyed the video.

Man, remember all those fan theories that suggested the parents were going to Rapunzel's wedding? And people used the idea that there's a three-year time gap after the parents die, and when Elsa's coronation happen, comparing that to the fact that Tangled and Frozen were released three years apart. I have a feeling Frozen II was only made to debunk this theory, since they confirmed the parents left for an entirely different reason.
Well I doubt the sequel was greenlit just to debunk a theory, but I definitely remember those theories haha!
Just wrapped up the video and as someone not really into Frozen lore, this was such a masterful timeline analysis, I was invested throughout and the timeline looks great. Great discussion between the 2 of you and I'm sure many hardcore Frozen fans will love this. Awesome video!!
Thanks Andres, I really appreciate the comment! And yeah! That was the intent, be super informative to Frozen fans AND to introduce the wider universe to non-fans. I’m glad you liked it.
Dang, I didn't know there was so much lore.
Right?? It’s kinda a lot!
Please do a lion king timeline
31:28 you even referenced a cut song! This was excellent,y researched and made
I’m so happy you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
Wow you continue to make such high quality videos! I swear the algorithm is just against you, this should have at least a couple hundred thousand views.
Really glad you enjoyed the video! I know, I really dunno what to do at this point.
A thoroughly satisfying timeline video. Well done!
Thank you! So happy you liked it.
Why Disney hasn't hired you yet is a mystery. Great video, looking forward to your next one.
Perhaps it’s for the best! I get to keep making videos for you all! Thanks Dan.
Amazing video guys! Didn't know the Frozen universe was this expensive but this is really interesting!
Also Happy New Year!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the comment bro, glad you liked the video. And you too!
I love the Frozen franchise, so this was a real treat to watch. I really hope you do a timeline breakdown about the history of Corona from the Tangled franchise.
That could be really fun to watch.
@@Geekritique Indeed😉
YOOOOOOOOO DAKOTA!!! GUESS WHAT?!? THEY ADDED THE DEFENDERS SAGA TO THE MCU TIMELINE ORDER ON DISNEY+!!!
I know we all have our qualms about the Disney+ timeline order but officially adding the Defenders Saga is a HUGE step!
I saw this. AND they placed the items in the correct order!
You were right. Your quality has gone up. So I look forward to your Alien/Predator/Blade Runner timeline. :)
Thanks so much for watching! I’m actually looking forward to that timeline, though it’ll be a while before I get to it!
Thank you! This is a great timeline! However one word of note. You said that Elsa thawed out Anna, which seems to be something that fans have been debating for years, since Anna sacrificing herself for Elsa should be considered an act of true love that thaws her frozen heart!
I also thought Elsa did it for years until I realized that didn't make any sense. I don't know if this is worth any more investigating, but other than that, you guys did some great work putting all this together!
I have not seen Disney Publishing deal with so much lore for a Disney franchise, since the underrated Disney Fairies books. I personally think Disney Publishing is extremely cool, because they expand the lore of the films, but seem to have a lot of creative freedom to go in whatever tone they want, whether it's lighthearted magical fun, or like you said, dark enough to venture into PG-13 territory!
Thanks so much for the comment. You’re right. Anna was the one who sacrificed herself for Elsa, which was the act of true love. My mistake. Didn’t catch that until you mentioned it.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I’m also very impressed with Disney Publishing’s output. They’ve done such a wonderful job of expanding this universe.
@@Geekritique What do you think of the Percy Jackson series? Disney Plus is making a TV series which I think is doing a pretty good job staying true to Riordan's original vision, even if there is some creative liscense.
What's notable about this book series is that it was a failed film franchise during the 2010s, but is also probably the most well known original property of Disney Publishing! I would love to hear your thoughts on this since for 2000's kids like myself, this series was a huge part of our youth and childhoods up there with Harry Potter!
Where does All is Found fit in the timeline? After the podcast or before?
It’s a short story collection, they occur all over the timeline.
Think you would make a timeline for Rapunzel and her kingdom?
If this video does well, that could be a fun future project!
damn so sad elsa and anna are separated after so much things they have to endure and frozen just got to the same point it started, so sad, frozen 3 has to bring elsa to anna and make her queen again
Elsa still shows up for game nights!
@@Geekritique no, no, not even close to be a compensation for the years of separation and the ending of the movie that negates the perfect ending of the previous movie
Thing is, I disagree. Anna is a better leader, and Elsa always had a different calling. Now they’re both happy.
@@Geekritique nah, anna in the movies is always eager to help but that doesnt mean she is a good leader, is different, her personality is not for that, elsa only wanted to not live on fear and be with anna, she never show problems being queen, her struggle was not about that, her personality is not being a hobo in the forest, she leaving cames out of nowhere. the point of frozen was reuniting elsa and anna and complement each other, the point of frozen 2 is separate them for no valid reason? lame, "we will do this together" yeah sure
