The GOSAFE Glock magazine is, well, special. If you're looking to secure your handgun this is an option. Do I think the GOSAFE Glock magazine is a good option? We find out.
#glock #safety #gosafe - Zábava
I just keep my firearms at my local government mandated storage facility. If I ever feel threatened I just drive down there, fill out a simple form and submit it for review. Once it's sent out for review it only takes a few short weeks and if I'm allowed I can then be permitted to access my firearms and log them out for a designated period of time and hopefully solve any issues that threaten my life.
🤔😳😂😂😂
"Sir, your application came back negativ. Self defense is not a valid reason to have access to firearms. If you feel threatend, call the local authorities. They are a government agency and therefore 'here to help'."
Self defense, just how the government intended.
England, huh?
Go through all that and you’re still not legally allowed to use it for defense!
Shhhh dont give them any ideas.
My Dad’s revolver stayed in his night stand. I never touched it, I was more afraid of my Dad than the gun. I get all kids are different, but it worked for us.
Same here. My dad kept his guns in displays and on wall racks in our basement. I too, was more scared what my dad would do to me. If I ever took a gun down from a rack. And this method worked for me, my brother and 2 sisters. Fast forward to current times. All 4 of us kids are gun owners. I have 2 kids...older now. And they were taught to be respectful with guns and the guns are not toys. Of course when younger and in their irresponsible age range, our guns were locked up in a safe.
My stepdad did likewise, I knew where the guns were, no locks, and I knew where the ammo was, also not locked. Unless some real bad shit happened, or we were cleaning or out shooting, I was to leave them where they were. Of course, all of us kids knew how to load and handle guns safely, and to respect them as well. No problems here either.
Same! They weren’t taboo or hidden from us and they would take us out and shoot anytime we asked. So there was no “curiosity” of it to make us sneak a look when they weren’t around! Hell! They were on display in an old glass door gun cabinet (that I now own) and was just like another piece of furniture! Others were on gun racks on the wall and pistols were on bedside tables, etc.
My dad left guns and ammo all over the house when my sister and I were kids. Shotguns in 12-gauge and .410 and .22s...both rifles and revolvers. He only had to tell us ONCE that if he ever caught us messing with one of his guns, we'd regret it. My dad also had a mouth like a sailor, which I also inherited, yet I didn't even use profanity around my dad until I was ALMOST 30 YEARS OLD! I knew he'd smack the shit outta me if I ever used profanity in front of him when I was a kid, and that learned behavior just carried through until I was about 30.

Lockpicking Lawyer has a video of him picking one of those cable locks with a LEGO minifig walkie-talkie
Long as your kid doesn't watch Lockpicking Lawyer it's fine!
@@cavalieroutdoors6036 Who doesnt watch the Lockpicking Lawyer
To be fair when any lock sees the LPL, unlocks its own self in surrender.
okay, this comment is extremely misleading. He used it to open the AR's trigger-guard, which let the lock slip out. very poor design and very unsafe, sure, but he didn't "pick the lock" with it. bypassed it, sure, but the lock was still locked by the end of that.
Fumbling with a small key is just what you need when a group of intruders are chasing you around the house.
Well don't drop your key, it will be worse than dropping the soap in prison!
Maybe they should make the key with a little back-up OTF/or out the bottom switch blade😂
And less capacity. Lmao this thing is junk. I seen one at bass pro several weeks ago and literally lol.
You never heard of “times out!”?? LOL
@@davestahl572better yet, don’t lock your damn defensive gun!
To quote Dr. Evil.... "How about NO!"
..Glock.
If someone breaks into your house and is instantly able to threaten you, you've failed as a homeowner. Being immediately awake from a deep sleep and able to respond to a threat is pure fiction. You need to harden your home so you have some time to respond, purely because you're human, not some robot. Your gun is your LAST line of defense.
If you have a wizbang rapid deployment gun storage solution, but still have chintzy 3/4" wood screws on the deadbolt and hinges of your front door, then you aren't really safe
@@Compgeek86Dogs are also good too. A decent sized dog (anything over about 50lb) is a deterrent by themselves and even the smaller dogs can be trained to start barking as someone approaches your door to wake you up just a second or two earlier which, if you're woken up by your dog(s) barking and immediately someone trying to break through your door, should be enough time to realize what's going on.
There are other ways to safeguard yourself from home invasion at least long enough to get yourself ready and/or call 911. One thing you could do first (which I recently ordered myself to install for this reason) is to install strike plates with all of your outside access doors; the ones that you would mount and covers both the dead bolt and door knob lock with up to 6 x 3-4" screws. This supposedly makes it immensely more difficult (at least that's what I've heard) short of a battering ram for someone to kick in your door. It would take many more attempts to successfully kick in the door than without and would give you sort of an early warning that someone unauthorized is trying to get in. Second, put up security cameras and/or a doorbell camera so you can see who is outside without actually going outside. Your gun whether carrying in public is meant to be your LAST defense; not your first. 3rd; have a plan. Designate a "safe" area at a certain part of your house. I live alone; so for me my "safe room" is the 2nd bedroom that is adjacent to my master bedroom. It's at the end of the hallway so I have clear line of sight for anyone that comes around the corner from the entry way and my front door. Also, it does have a window but it's not easily accessible from the side of the house. My master bedroom has a window facing the street. If there is a "bump in the night"; I wake up, grab my fully loaded (and one chambered) pistol from my night stand and while clearing the hallway, I move into my 2nd bedroom. It's also where I store my long guns. So if I have the time I transition from the pistol to my S&W FPC. If I get setup to that point and no one has come charging down the hallway (and if they did, it would be their last mistake), I'd shut/barricade the door and call 911 (I have a government issued phone stored in there since it's also my home office).

demoRat intelligence has never ceased to amazed me.
Probably the business model for this company. What they are counting on.
Just get your mags in a free-er state. We are not obligated to follow unconstitutional legislation (not law)
Exactly what I was thinking
The best locks you can have are the cable pad locks that you can program to a number combination, and use the same code for all.
I secure my guns by teaching my kids how to use them.
This should be the standard.
Same here. My boy can look at and hold them anytime he wants he just has to ask me. Takes the curiosity factor away for him. It's just like any other tool.
@@kevinwicklund5914 EXACTLY. LOVE IT.
It's weird to me. I grew up around guns. I always knew where all of the guns were and how to use them. It was never a concern. Some of my earliest memories are of target shooting in the backyard.

If I’m home nothing is locked, if I’m not everything is locked !
I’ll admit to being old, but we were trained to lock up our service revolver at home w/handcuffs in the late ‘60s. One end went over the closet bar and the other end through the open frame (cylinder open) of the gun. This magazine lock gizmo looks like another “solution” in search of a problem.
any and all gun locks/safes/storage that isnt immediately accessible and ready to use within half a second is worthless
Start at 9:20
Brutal waste of time
Little additional issue here. When you pull out a gun that's loaded, you are a deadly threat to your opponent and will be until you find the key to unlock. It's worse than having no gun.
I don't really get whom they are trying to market these things to. I'm from Germany and over here it's mandatory you keep your guns in a safe, since you're not allowed to use them for self defence anyway. However in the US either you inted to use it quick for defense, then for the love of god don't hinder your access to it. And if you don't need to get to it quick then just stick the thing in a safe.
This magazine contraption seems pretty useless for either intention.
Well you are allowed to use them in an self defense scenario. Technically
@@darmanskirata4167 Well maybe you can avoid getting into Prison if the attacker has a gun too. Your guns will be taken from you then though, since you're only allowed to use them for the "allowed purpose", which means a hunter may only use them for hunting, sports shooters only for sport shooting etc.
Having a gun strictly for self defense is only allowed for people who transport money for banks and so forth.
I think these devices are being marketed to politicians. In other words, this is a device the politicians can now force upon the citizens. And this company is happy to provide them.
@@DennisFuller-mc7yw You are allowed to use anything to defend yourself, including guns- if its proportional . If somebody breaks into your house and threatens your life you are allowed to shoot them. Simply breaking into your house would not grant you permission to shoot them.
You also are able to get a Gun License for Self Defense as a Civilian, but thats extraordinary rare
@@darmanskirata4167 You would still lose your guns in that scenario. Because you aren't allowed to keep them easily accessable. This would lead to the government deeming you "unreliable"

"This and a liberty safe I got on the way"....Why in the world would you buy a "Liberty Safe"? You did hear about the crap they pulled several months back where they just handed over a "backdoor" code to the authorities that they had no warrant for because they were investigating someone that had a Liberty safe and Liberty just gave them the code to get in; didn't you? How could you trust a company that would first of all even have a "backdoor code" to begin with and 2nd that would sell out a customer without a second thought and with no legal obligation to do so?

$100 10-round Glock mags... Who'd've thunk it. Not a bloody chance I'd buy one at any price.
And now a smooth voiced "This is the LPL, and today I have.........."
The only excuse that I can see for the ten-round capacity, is it allows space for the locking mechanism.
Worse than the cable, you could have an ND while fumbling with it.
First, I'm not saying that this security/safety device; or whatever you want to call it is even remotely a good idea. But chances are that some gun owner out there will actually buy one of these. Just because Tim has a channel where he reviews it and says he doesn't like it doesn't mean that every gun owner out there will actually watch his channel to hear his opinion or come to that conclusion themselves. But your argument about having a ND is not a valid reason IMHO. You could have the gun in a holster (not on your person obviously) and unlock it while holstered before you unholster it. If you take a moment to think about it, there are ways to use something like this and still be safe about it.
Not offering it in standard capacity reveals that their true intention isn’t safety but restriction, so I hope they go under. 😂
LOL the boebert edition Glock. The awkward moment your caught in the middle of a riot when you realize not only your car keys are locked in your car, but your gun key is locked in the car too.

Imagine waking up in the middle of the night hearing a noise and grabbing your pistol in that slightly confused state while you are still waking up, and pulling the trigger and nothing happens. You rack the slide and it ejects a cartridge and you pull the trigger again. WTF? NOW you remember you have that stupid GOSAFE in your pistol and need to unlock it. While you are trying to unlock it the bad guy is mag dumping into you! Yeah, that's a GREAT design!!!
Gun-free zones are dangerous. Don't let yourself be a gun-free zone. I recommend avoiding bars, pubs, and gun-free zones. Carry or be carried. The police cannot protect you if you are dead. Safety first. Learn basic gun safety. Stay armed. Guns do not commit violence, and guns do not assault people, no matter what you call them. It is not a crime to carry a gun for personal safety or the safety of others. It is a crime to blame something that is not to blame, so you can steal people's personal protective equipment (PPE).
I'm almost 9 minutes into the video and he still hasn't even told us wtf it is😂
Why pay $99 for long term storage when most gun purchases include a cable lock?
I’m glad I came across this video. I get in a straight self defense scenario it has no value, but I can see an application that this would hold some merit, for the “more money than sense” type of gun enthusiast. Happy to say I’ll be hitting the subscribe button.
The 10 rounds might be because of places that have strict gun lock laws are also going to have magazine restrictions.
I'm in Massachusetts. You cant keep ammo with the gun unless your actually carrying it, regardless of safety gizmos, so it's completely useless here too...
Doodickey! lol
Your little laugh after that made it even funnier…

Great video! How about a link to the bedside safe you use. That looked like a great safe.
We have these at the hospital where I work security. One dispatcher issues you the key,the other unlocks the locker, we then turn in the mag lock to get your duty mags. It makes sense for liability at work but really not practical elsewhere.
Holy no
The issue with the lock is common for that type. It has to do with getting the grooves on the unique key lined up properly with the pins in the lock.
This is brilliant

No the ultimate saftey device would be cable lock,go safe lock. Then put all that in a bedside safe then take the bedside safe and put it inside a big floor safe. Then you may be able to be actually safe. 😂
Hey Tim,
5 years later after your axis buck hunt, what are your continuing thoughts on 6.5 grendel? As an effective cartridge in an AR platform.
I love mine, but 6.5 grendel has fallen to the wayside. Not dropped off like 224 Valkyrie (what’s with the Norse mythology names on these?) but 6 ARC was all the rage 2022 shot show and seems it’s fallen off too.
Would be a cool “catch up” video getting your thoughts on 6.5 grendel as a hunting or general all rounder in the AR15 platform. I know you hunted with 6.8 SPCll as well. Might make for a good revisit video? In the mid Atlantic to southern Midwest region it’s what we hunt with since it’s .230 or larger only for deer. Or shotgun.
The davey Hogg special 😂😂😂
It is just a moneymaker for them. What's the gun is for if you cannot use it?
I'm guessing you can also never clean the magazine, b/c giving the end user the ability to disassemble and fiddle with the internals of the "Lockazine" would be an open-ended liability horror show.
In experimental aircraft building, where your life depends on your choices, there is an acronym; KISS.
This mag is anything but KISS, and your life may depend on it.
An unlocked gun is a weapon;
A locked gun, is a rock ...
The only instance that I'd ever think of that being useful is if you're a teacher that's carrying at school and leave your pistol in your purse and not carrying on your body.
Probably great for Mass residents. Key isn't that bad. Easy to find and feel in the dark, good unique shape.
There a lock thats out that locks it from loading and its a twist dial and as you unlock it, it racks a round. Best one I've seen on the market.
Cool invention, safety first.
Dude... just get to it already... Just tell us what it is and tell us not to get it 😂
Lock Picking Lawyer will open it in under 1 minute!
Now I want a video of him doing this lock.
Something like that might work if it worked electronically with an RFID bracelet or ring. Even so I'd still prefer a night stand pistol safe.
I'll be sure to keep the key safe and accessible in my prison purse when I go to bed at night.
I used to have that Billconch biometric safe. It was unreliable and slow. It was pretty rare that it would open up using my fingerprint on the first try.
Thanks Tim for the time to make this educational video and the 99 dollars you spent to give us the info. For me the decision was already made before watching. NO. When seconds count, at home a quick access safe works best. Thanks for your time and the ridiculous amount $$ to not buy this lock. For $99 will be used for more Glock mags.
Stupid gizmos. Maybe Smith & Wesson get to realize that having such a device built-in is ever more foolish.
I taught my kids gun safety.
I've used biometric (facial reconition and fingerprint, not iris) access for some 20 years now. All it tskes is a freshly washed finger, wet or dry, and you'll be locked out.
Is it flawless most of the time? The fingerprint is. But "most" of the time ain't good enough.
I would not pay that much money for that. Long term storage I would use the cheap lock that comes with the firearm. Great video as always thanks!
I have found even normal 10 round magazines are hard to load at well.
Completely unrelated to the topic of guns, as a German, I just can’t comprehend the fragility of US front doors
Contractors get the pre-hung bulk pack doors with chintzy screws that attach the strike plates and hinges to the trim around the door, not the actual framing lumber. It's a 5 minute fix to take them out and put in long screws that will actually make the door kick resistant, but the builder isn't going to take the time to do it.

In theory it will make Sigs drop safe at least. Haha
From Heller v DC (2008): "We must also address the District’s requirement (as
applied to respondent’s handgun) that firearms in the
home be rendered and kept inoperable at all times. This
makes it impossible for citizens to use them for the core
lawful purpose of self-defense and is hence unconstitu-
tional."
I put this in the same category as "smart guns". Leaving aside political / philosophical questions, assume that you've identified a risk and decided (or been legally required) to address it. Buying this (as opposed to either a safe, or a lock you can chain to something) means you want to stop unauthorized users _from firing the gun right now_ , but are OK with them _taking_ it (to wherever they could deactivate the lock at leisure, or school, etc.).
Who thinks this way? Whose identified threat scenario is an intruder who arrives with murderous intent, but no means to execute it because he believes you'll provide?
Huge NO for me.
You didn't just not like this thing, it put you in a bad mood. Grab yourself a Ballister Molina or something like that and cheer up my friend! :)
A biometric or RFID component with magnetic charging would be cool. You could glue a hidden tag somewhere and just tap the baseplate to unlock it.
LOL, the only use for that "GO SAFE" is if you are suicidal after being criminally attacked.
We had one of these offered to us for a review. Let's say that we were glad that we don't have a Glock in the safe.
I don't have anyone in my house, like kids, I need to keep my guns away from, so I bought a GrovTec bedside holster for about 40 bucks. Now I don't have to worry about trying to find keys for a lock of any kind, or the batteries going dead in a biometric safe. It's not the best option for everyone, but it works for me.
Someone should run an ipsc tournament with these
While it's not my cup of tea either, it may be an option for some folks depending on their particular situation. And it's a good thing that some companies are actually trying to come up with some fresh ideas, even if many of us think they need to go back to the drawing board.
