  • Nothe Fort in Weymouth, Dorset is one of my favourite places on the Earth. It's hard to think that just a month ago I was exploring this historic fortification, and now with the pandemic life is extremely different. Thanks Coronavirus. However, please all do take care and hopefully this video will help you see somewhere historic that is now shut.
Nothe Fort is a Victorian fort, and possibly one of England's best preserved. Built during the 1800s, it has seen action in World War 1, World War 2 and even has it's own Cold War Bunker built within it. Join us today as we explore it's amazing history, show you around the bunker, dare to go down the Ghost Passageway (one of England's most haunted places) and also show you around this historic site.

One of my favourite places too! I’m a history teacher and Nothe Fort was the reason I fell in love with History.

I find it curious, in the city of Coquimbo in Chile, there is one of those original Armstrong cannons from the Victorian era lying in the open and still in good shape, it is exactly in Fort Lambert. It is an interesting and impressive piece of history

I’ve been watching you’re videos for a while and just found this video. I also went here every year whilst I was young and it sparked my interest (obsession) in history too. I have so many memory’s here. Including the timewalk museum they had too 😅

I visited twice while in the area and was impressed with the fort but disappointed that staff parked their cars inside the fort. I complained because it looked so poor and was assured that it would be looked in to but I guess nothing has been done. The simple solution is to issue staff and volunteers with passes for the adjoining car park but would involve staff walking 100m to work. Simple but probably too much to expect.
