The good old days, when the tires were hard and the drivers were harder.
I watched Mika overtake Schumi on tv. My jaw dropped. The commentators were playing back the footage several times. The best part was when Mika & Michael were caught discussing the race. You would never pit them for rivals... for me, it was one of the greatest moments in F1.
I saw Piquet overtaking Ayrton Senna. To me it was the best because he had to make a late brake putting his F1 side sliding trough the tight corner blocking the way of the Ayrton. It was incredible!!!

I was just a kid when Michael and Mika fighted for championships but i saw nearly every race and today i cant watch this shit what is called F1... :(

Piquet's one must be the greatest. Specially when you hear he found time to show his finger to Senna during the overtaking hahahahaha. Two of the greatest drivers.

For me is the best one and by a long shot. When they're going in you're like "there's no fucking way in hell he ain't losing it"... Then he slides the freakin' car right into the turn and keeps it steady on the way out. Literally jaw dropping.

The overtake of Hakkinen - Schumacher was so impressive especially because the previous round it didn't work, so hakkinen pushed a full lap to get close enough to make this insane move.
He also took eau rouge flat out in race setup when drivers didn't even attempt that in qualy
JV took it flat in the Williams days. His pass on Schumacher at Estoril 1996 was far more spectacular than this - Spa 2000 is overrated.
Schumacher and Hakkinen really showed respect to esch other. This is important and today not always there. I remember how Schumacher had to cry during an after race press conference after being asked what it means to him having more victories than Senna. Hakkinen tried to stop the interviewer from keeping asking on and on and on... Nice respectful behaviour from Hakkinen.
That showed how much pressure is on these Top 3 drivers.

Well tbh, once when the dutch media asked Hamilton about insulting Verstappen on the radio after some on-track action, Vettel interjected to defend Hamilton since he thought the question was unfair.

Mika Häkkinen, the only driver Schumacher feared. And my favourite racing driver of all time.

The following is the original ranting comment explaining the issues that have since been resolved:
Okay, since people are complaining about their being music on the video, I'll upload a copy of the video without music within the next few days, so stay subscribed for that.
UPDATE: So I tried to upload the video that was EXACTLY THE SAME, just without music, and the FOM blocked it worldwide for VISUAL CONTENT. Yes, an EXACTLY IDENTICAL video has been blocked somehow, and the visual content that they have claimed is mostly the fan footage of Spa. I've put in an appeal but I've tried that before and haven't even gotten a response despite youtube claiming that you will get a response within 30 days.
In short, the youtube copyright system is broken and unfair, and we can't do anything about it. But hey, what's new?
UPDATE 2: I will try to get the video up anyway, but the FOM can manually take videos down without an excuse, and again appeals don't work, so it's not going to be easy. My channel also might get another copyright strike which means it can be deleted forever with no appeal. I wish that youtube wasn't the only hugely popular video sharing site, because their policies are completely disgraceful and frankly unbelievable, bordering on illegal, and again, nobody can do anything.
Sorry to get all serious, but all I want to do is share videos about the sport I love.

I watched that Mika's overtake over Schumi, I was 10 years old, one of the best F1 moments for sure.

4. Alonso on Schumacher at Suzuka in 2005 (in the video)
3. Piquet on Senna in Gödöllö in 1986 (in the video)
2. Häkkinen on Schumacher at Spa in 2000 (in the video)
and
1. Senna on Schumacher, Wendlinger, Hill and Prost in Donington in one lap :-))

im saw some vids with the best overtakes , but one overtake is in them all: Piquet- Senna- insane.
poor zonta milling about then wham up comes the race leader and then they both come behind zonta too his left michael sort of blocks his way then mika on an excellent lap overtakes them both and then swings into the next corner so brilliant

telephonic this shot was actually mika explaining to Michael about the Lao before this one when mika tried to overtake and Schumacher closed the door in a very risky way

when schumacher was overtaken by Aonzo the previous lap he blocked and brake tested him after the overtake on board replay showed Schuy checking his right mirror for alonzo then double taking as the Renault screened past on his left , i nearly pissed myself with excitement

Well I obviously understand nothing about F1, but all of those overtakes look to me like "yeah, he drove faster, so what?". I cannot understand what's so spectacular about that.

piquet vs senna deserves a higher rank then 9 imo ... that maneuver was sooo immense on the edge.. I think many people underrate maneuver... beeing on that slip angle with slicks with that downforce while braking and accelerating.. is such a tough move... and then you consider it was a pass against senna .. that thing is in my top 3 not on 9
edit sorry... I just understood.. this might not be a ranking.. just a compilation of top ten... so no particular order mentioned... however usually most people built it from 10 to 1

Thanks, and yes there is no order to the list, as I've done that before and it got a lot of dislikes from people who disagree.
I guess it's difficult to rank overtakes compared to each other, so everyone's opinion will be very different.
No it absolutely doesn't. Piquet drove, easily the fastest car on the grid that time with Senna arguably driving a 4th best car. All other overtakes were done with similarly matched cars except arguably Webber and Alonso.

FOM kept taking my video down with that in due to copyright, so I had to replace it with Verstappen's one at Silverstone instead.

Alonso’s overtake in wet on the outside was a similar move to verstappen in Brazil. The only difference is alonso pulled it over Schumacher and verstappen over rosberg.
