Part 1 Here: • Top 10 Overtakes of F1...
There were so many great suggestions in the comments of part 1 that I decided to make another one.
Leave suggestions in the comments and if I get enough good ones I might make a part 3.
Music by Ross Bugden
/ @rossbugden - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Before leaving a suggestion check whether it's in part 1:

That Villeneuve - Arnoux duel is a masterclass. Where are such epic battles in F1 now a days!?
fia safety rules wont allow it
Nah it's not about rules. Rules in 2017 would allow that kind of battle for sure. The cars, however... Let's just say the cars of those days were much much much more suited to battles like those compared to cars of today.
Dont
Race
Severely
The cars with the complex aero of nowadays just don't lend themselves for this type of scrap. The only race in recent memory reminding me of oldschool racing was brazil last year with Max.
^^ That said it all, technological innovation in aerodynamics has gone so far, it's become what it is.
Montoya vs Schumacher 2:34 👍🏻
If it is just for joking, we can report many overtaking episodes: if we want to talk seriously, NOTHING can be compared to Villeneuve-Arnoux. It was amazingly tight and long!
Jacques Villeneuve on the outside with schumacher estoril '96!
Massa on Kubica - Japan 2007
Barrichello on Schumacher - Hungrary 2010
Senna on Lauda - Monaco 1984
Ricciardo on Bottas - Italy 2016
Barrichello on both Schumachers - Spain 2000
Alonso on Webber and Massa - Brazil 2012
Massa on Barrichello and Kovalainen - Canada 2008
Verstappen on Rosberg - Brazil 2016
Bianchi on Kobayashi - Monaco 2014
Massa on Senna - Singapore 2012
Vettel on Alonso - Great Britain 2014
Raikkönen on Nasr - Hungrary 2016
Vettel on Bottas - Spain 2017
Prost on Berger and Alboreto - Spain 1987
Thank you very much, I'll be looking at those for part 3
Charlie Snowball also Vettel vs Ricciardo- China 2017
Piquet a Senna por afuera.
Pedro X Massa on Kubica on Massa on Kubica on Massa on Kubica at the finish line in the wet with several contacts, gloves off, no big points at stake just hard racing
Verstappen and Rosberg
I liked the overtake of Hakinnen on Schumacher both overtaking Zonta after eau rouge in Spa Franchorchamps in 2000 more suitable than some of the actions in this top 10.
Hakkinen & Schumacher both overtaking the same guy in Spa
Check part 1
right..... it was great!
00:30 El adelantamiento a Raikkonen es muy parecido el que le hizo ricciardo hace poco en monza 😂
Massa and Kubica around 10 years ago. Took like 2 laps while using allthe track and run-off area's
Fangio, on Collins and Hawthorne at Nuremberg ,1957 . Epic master class, before the term was even invented.
I believe about the same time (mid 70s to late 80s), at the Monaco G.P. a pair of drivers were battling lap after lap for either 2nd, 3rd or 4th (maybe lower?). It seemed that each lap they were bumping, interlocking wheels, riding up on each other, finally there was a pass and it would start all over.
This went on for what felt like most of the race and I was literally on the edge of my seat, yelling at my TV in astonishment.
Mansell rules in overtaking . Watch the man in BTCC in a very heavy rain. Its just amazing.
Mansell was overtaken many times too.
Beautiful 😭
INCREIBLE CARRERA ...QUE CALIDAD DE PILOTOS , MAESTROS DE LA VELOCIDAD Y CONDUCCIÓN, HA SIDO UN DELITE ESTE FINAL EPICO....
vettel on bottas in 2017 Barcelona :3 It was awesome, so far the best overtake this year :)
BTW Hakkinen on Schumacher in 2000, this overtake is awesome to
Part 1
It's lit!! Part 3!
Thank you!
And I need some suggestions first
Monaco GP 2005:
Heidfeld overtakes Alonso on braking, before "Nouvelle Chicane"
Charlie Snowball Raikkonen on Webber- Monaco 2006
Awesome video. Thanks for making it.
Thanks
Good video. Wish formula 1 had overtakes like that now.
MORE VIDEOS PLEASE. GREAT WORK!
Thank you!
The mother of overtake is Piquet-Senna Hungaroring 1986, and Mansell-Berger mexico 1991. Zanardi-Herta Laguna Seca is Father of all.
pochitoke77 That Zanardi move was just totally insane.
Those 2 are in part 1
Zanardi's is a corner-cutting, illegal overtake. Sorry, no go.
A list without Piquet's overtaking on Senna in Hungaroring (1986) does not deserve attention!!!
Ich liebe ditch F1!!!!.
It was good seeing all the overtaking that used to take place in F1. If it was always like today's F1 you could make a video titled 'the ten overtakes in F1 history' lol.
Terrific!
MAGNIFICO
Barrichello vs Schumacher, Hungaroring 2010
Felipe Massa Canada 2008 Double Overtake
I love F1!
Best in my opinion is 1:19
Schumacher was a monster !
Fantastic! Epic!
alesi first race vs senna at phoenix
simply awesome
Thank you
Amazing video!!!! Song name???
pretty good choices. you could make one about as good just on hamilton passes alone.
What about Villeneuve on Shcumacher in Porutgal. Best move ever in my option!
Damon Hill and Michael Schumacher-Hungary 97
1:02 It's not possible, Montoya is not looking where is going, he completly shouthed onto my car
# 1 Ever - Piquet over Senna - Hungary 1986. Without discussing....
Fittipaldi, Piquet e Senna do Brasil - Quando tínhamos os melhores pilotos do mundo.
Barrichello on Schumacher- Hungary 2010
Barrichello on Ralf Schumacher- Imola 2003
Massa on Kovalainen and Barrichello- Canada 2007
Massa on Senna- Singapore 2012
Senna on Lauda- Monaco 1984
Alonso on Massa and Webber- Brazil 2012
Massa on Kubica- Japan 2007
Senna on Hill- Brazil 1993
Hamilton vs Raikkonen was when Raikkonen got injured after he went into the barrier at 40G during practice after a suspension failure... That was a spare car. Not even close to be called a great overtaking move.
The old F1 drivers is being crazy in racing.
u have to add Vettel - Bottas (Sochi 2017)! ;)
Arnoux vs Villeneuve is grear but Piquet overtaking Senna sideways under braking whilst giving Senna the finger is the best.
Part 1
great vid
Thanks
Totuus puuttuu tästä listasta. Naurettava!
Formel 1 was really different in those years. I started watching from about 93. There were much more action in the race. Now they are all crying ..."tell Charlie this...." It is not the same as it was in the 90s.
But they also died a lot.
Perhaps it should go back to being open class but with contemporary safety standards. The costs may accelerate but the 'Garigistas' seemed to survive when I first started watching it in the sixties. Niki Lauda made a similar statement back in 2014.
People didn't die a lot. We've had 2 fatalities in the 90s, 0 in the 00s, and 1 so far this decade.
Piquet on Senna 86 was one of the most beautifull and pure ones i've ever seen
Part 1
great
Nice compiçlation!
Thanks
now that was racing.
I'm looking for that overtake by Jacques Villeneuve where half of his car is off the road. Murray Walker says something like "Look left it's Villeneuve".
Anyone know when that was ?
This must have been a hard film to compile, given that there have only been about 17 overtaking manoeuvres in total in modern F1 (only slightly tongue-in-cheek)!
i have not that good of a memory f1 wise like some others. but i know a few verstappen singapore 2015/16 in the chicane under bridge. verstappen brazile 2016 ,alonso outside t3 catanlunya, rosberg on hamilton 2016 hungaro ring. there is 2 one on the outside tunnel monaco dont know the year or drivers taught a ferrari
Schumacher overtakes Button in Imola, Peterson vs Depailler in South Africa 1978, Gethin vs Peterson in Monza 1971, last lap, last corner.
Villeneuve Arnoux,/Ferrari against Renault.....phénoménal souvenir..
I forgot how good Montoya was in his prime.
All the ten overtakes in f1 history
Hey, I was looking for the song used using both SoundHound and Shazam, but both don't recognize this song.. :-(
Ross Bugden- Fall
Charlie Snowball Are you sure? Doesn't sound like it. Different melody and clearly the Ross Bugden songs are royalty free versions. The song you used in this video crearly isn't. Or is there a specific version of this song you are referring to?
Loved Montoya. He did not take shit from any of the self-proclaimed elite of F-1. Ditto for Mario Andretti who famously told James Hunt; "Who says we can't pass on the left on a right hand corner. Do it all the time in Indy cars."
Villeneuve is using the shingo tactic
Hakkinen-Shumacher (Belgium GP, 2000)?
Berger Mansell Mexico 1990 , if you haven’t already.
I think the 2004 Williams' was the quickest and fastest car EVER around a race circuit.
Original engine sound would have been much better than any music that only 1% of the viewers might like.
Half of this list should include Nigel Mansell, guy was absolutely on it when had had a decent car.
Check part 1
missed hackinen vs zonta vs schumacher in belgian gp
Part 1
Qué tiempos los de Montoya vs Schumacher
senna !!!
Rather x1000 these old school overtakes over the hundreds of cheap drs and kers overtakes we see today
Vileneve vs arnoux 79 😲😲😲 que isso amigos...nem no video game da p fazer igual.
Prost on Senna - Portugal 1988
Why do people think they need to add music? I'd rather hear the engines (and the crowds and the announcers).
Ayrton Senna's first podium in Monaco...where he almost won the race..had the race been allowed to go on... the race was red flagged leaving controversially leaving Prost at P1
Forgot to mention the year...it was 1984
What about Bellof's pass on Arnoux for 3rd position in that race?
Verstappen on Nasr at Spa?
part two? so it'll be top 20? lol
Vettel-Bottas 2017 Spanish
Why the music? I want to hear the sound of the cars!!!
Barrichello vs Schumacher at Hungary 2010
Sorry, how can you forgot Piquet VS Senna '86 Hungary GP? Terrible mistake! Real brazillian peice of art!
Missing the best ever: Mansell-Berger Mexico 1990
Check part 1
Please, Piquet-Senna - Hungary 1986
Part 1
1:00 magnifique ? He just drove the other car off the road! Need to review all overtakes here, but that is one penalty for Montoya.
Premier Ultima
>implying France is a motorsport country
You need all 4 tires out to make that rule effective. So yes, Magnifique!
i agree, i don't think any overtake that involved running the other car off the road could be considered a greatest. surely its a greater achievement to beat someone without having to push or run them off
You have to be joking, that was Schumakers stock in trade move.
Premier Ultima way too late now
But villeneuve - Arnoux is the best 2 shumacher- alesi... but villneuve is the best
Sato on Alonso 200?
Gilles ???!!!!Arnoux leggend!!!!
many renault/ferrari
Was the red car drifting in the thumbnail?
I thought you couldn't drift an F1
You can, but you shouldn't :)
Where is Piquet doing drifting witha turbo f1 car when passing Senna?
What about Verstappen in Brazil 2016?
do ricciardo on raikkonen at monza 2017
do vettel on bottas at spain 2017
do hulkenberg on bottas at japan 2016
do ricciardo on stroll massa and hulkenberg at baku 2017
do verstappen on vettel at britain 2017
do ricciardo on i think magnussen at copse silverstone 2017
wrong text
use of drs by ricciardo on raikkonen at monza 2017
use of drs by vettel on bottas at spain 2017
use of drs by hulkenberg on bottas at japan 2016
etc
the average in the 90's was 20 overtakes per race.
now is 100.
the overtake is played down, devalued, simplified, a routine.
is not important, the championship is long, take a risk is stupid.
the modern F1 is all wrong, the point system is wrong also the drs is wrong.
Good list, but come on, you can't include any clip of Schumacher in the known and proven illegal traction controlled Benetton.
Montoya was the man!
bufff!!!!
Nelson Piquet over Senna at Hungary is the best of the history!
Part 1
kubica singapore 2010
1:54 :O
Piquet x Mansell - Italia 1986
Piquet x Senna & Mansell - México 1987 (at second start).
where SPA 2000?
Overtaking?...excuse me what does that mean
Unless I've missed it, Jacques Villeneuve's move on Michael Schumacher at Estoril, Portugal should be included somewhere in your lists.
I'll take a look at it and maybe put it in part 3
