Marty Klein, what a nice and funny guy. I'm sitting here laughing out loud when he talks about looking in the mirror and being surprised (I can relate to that, I'm 68 years old).

In the latest U.K. census: Around 48,000 people (0.1%) gave their identity as 'trans man' and another 48,000 (0.1%) gave their identity as 'trans woman'. Almost like it's an evenly split grey area as one would expect if it was purely biological... and not male fetishism or female fashion victims.

Please, please read Helen Joyce's 'Trans' Abigail Shrier's Irreversible Damage and Hannah Barnes' new book Time to Think. Then read the Cass report and the disgracefully undemocratic legal advice from Dentons Lawyers ( they recommend trans activists secure legislation via stealth and 'piggybacking' on more popular causes). There is so much more but that'll do for now. Please.

This has been a superb discussion of many facets and angles of human sexuality. Kudos to Michael Shermer for leading it successfully for two hours and a half. A record! and fascinating to the very end, and bravo to Mary Klein for his patience and insightful answers.
It might be interesting to know what Marty Klein's comments would be to the ideas presented by Prof. Robert Sapolsky in his videos on Human Sexual Behavior I, II, III (lectures 15, 16, and 17) in his Stanford Un. course on Human Behavioral Biology shown on CZcams, for example the importance of female ovulation time, or the timing variations of hormone secretions.
Also what would be Marty Klein's comments to the idea presented by Dr. Leonard Sax that sexuality and sexual orientation or identity do not take place as points moving in a single linear dimension varying from male at one end to female at the other. But they are points in a plane where one axis marks the degrees of masculinity and the perpendicular axis plots the degrees of femininity. The two-axis graphic presentation permits more variability and nuances than the single horizontal axis and avoids the traps of the either...or...dichotomy.

On the matter of young people's fleeting emotions, inexperienced thinking, and transitory decisions, there's the underlying neurobiological fact that adolescent brains are not yet mature and fully developed until around the age of 25. We can read it all in "ADOLESCENCE: OR, DUDE, WHERE'S MY FRONTAL CORTEX?", chapter 6 in the comprehensive review of the neurobiology of human behavior entitled BEHAVE, by Stanford Un. neurobiologist Robert Sapolsky (2017).

Seriously, it's interesting to me how sexologists generally don't want to talk about incels, even though these "scientists" present themselves as the go-to experts for all aspects of human sexuality. Given how the topic can unsettle sexually experienced people who encounter it, I have to wonder if the existence of incels pushes people's terror-management buttons. Does "incel salience" work like "mortality salience" in terror-management theory?

I have a question. Why do people still have sex? Sex is very gross, nasty, messy, and disgusting! I don't see how sex is a good thing. Why don't humans just remove sex from this world? Women can still get pregnant without sex (there's a lot of ways women can get pregnant without sex including artificial insemination). Sex does cause a lot of problems, so the world might be a much better place without it.

I would like to ask this guy his opinion about Dr. Kinsey. That right-leaning "What Is a Woman" documentary attacks Kinsey as having performed twisted experiments on babies or something, I forget exactly what. I know Kinsey is generally widely respected, and I quite admired him, at least as that Liam Neeson movie portrays him. I didn't agree completely with the documentary's right-wing perspective, but I don't think it was just making stuff up out of whole cloth. (The documentary also bemoans society's (ugh) abandonment of "Judeo Christian Values," for which it also largely blames Kinsey.) I would like to get the objective truth about Kinsey and whether some of his experiments really were unethical.

Michael - you need to be careful when you're agreeing with someone who is balking against modern psychology or modern science. It's everything you've fought against, and on matters of gender - you are falling in to a few of the same traps.

I know what I felt like for as long as I remember anything. I also remember seeing men in dresses as objects of ridicule or fear in the form of murderous psychopaths in film and TV. I knew I wasn't gay and I saw no positive role models. And you wonder why transgender people suffer in silence, sometimes before it's too late. So when all you see is disgust, hatred, fear or at best severe disappointment aimed at how you were born and no place to live as you feel comfortable, what would you do? You man up and pressure cook.

I don’t agree with his view on porn. The vast majority of porn is made by men for men. How the women in porn act is how men want women to act. Often that means they are subjugated in some way.
As for his minimising violent porn, how does that explain the increase in women reporting being choked by their partners? If there’s not much of it, it definitely has an influence.
We used to learn about sexual intercourse together, through experience. Now people are learning about ‘sex acts’ through porn. I cannot see how it can be dismissed as harmless.
