    You’re just, like, an explosion of information. My husband was born and raised in Ireland and our oldest daughter likes to make her sticks out of mugwort and juniper from our yard and I’m excited to show her how it’s linked to her heritage and also her practice of intuitiveness

      Isn't it amazing how we unknowingly tap into this beautiful information? I hope she finds it as fascinating as I do!
      Yesterday I was just reading about how mugwort and motherwort work well together for astral travel. Will definitely be exploring that!

    This was presented very beautifully and many thanks for explaining the difference! I’ve never given the difference between smudging and smoke cleansing any thought, but now I want to study it more! Thank you dear!

      For many years I didn't really understand the differences either. It wasn't until I really started to dive into the traditions of my ancestors that I saw there were differences. Enjoy the research process!

      Right!? He's been an outdoor cat his entire life so letting him in is just not possible. Husband is allergic, my kitchen is certified and he would destroy EVERYTHING. Lol. But we do love him.

    Another beautiful video. Can you explain how to create a bundle? I have lots of lavender on my property and would love to use it.

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  Před 3 lety +3

      I am by no means an expert, but I can tell you what I do! Gather all of your herbs keeping the leaves and flowers on their stems. I used hemp as my cordage, but you basically want something that will burn fairly well. I tied all the herbs together at the base, leaving two very long tails of cordage (so basically find the middle of your cordage and tie the base from there).
      I then worked my way up the bundle using the two long tails of cordage, so they weaved in and around each other (criss crossing... hopefully that makes sense). Once I got to the top of the bundle, you wrap it again and tie off. Trim off excess cordage.
      The trick is to wrap very tightly because as the herbs dry and loose moisture, they also shrink a bit in size. If you wrap too loosely the bundles will slip right out of their wrapping and fall apart. I hope that helps! Hard to describe a hands on process in words. Lol
      Also, make sure you trim off any herbs you have hanging out the sides. This makes your smoke cleanse bundle look neater and helps keep the smoke/flame contained.

    Hi, amazing video. I have a question, could I use lavender that's in my neighborhood garden? And do I need to do anything for preparation if I'm just cleansing my room? Thank you for this great and informative video!

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  Před 2 lety +1

      You can definitely use lavender from the neighbourhood as long as it hasn't been sprayed.
      In terms of preparation - I think setting an intention for what energies you wish to leave and what you wish to welcome in is a great place to start. And then just stay focused on that intention while you do it and you're good to go!

    This was such a wonderful and informative video, thank you. I have lots of loose herbs that I would like to burn as well as lavender from a dying lavender bush I have. When I made a bundle of the lavender and burned it it just smelled like fire but no after lying lavender smells. Am I doing something wrong?

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  Před 2 lety

      I don't think you are doing anything wrong at all! My bundles often smell just like "smoke" and "fire" with little to no scent. It's beginning to confirm to me that store bought incense and bundles must have some perfumes or artificial scents in them to get them to smell the way they do. Maybe play a bit with adding a drop or two of lavender essential oil if you have it?? Or just know that the energetics of the plants are still there even if they don't smell like it ♥♥

    I bought a white sage bundle before I knew that it was an exploited herb. I was going to use it for smoke cleansing. Should I give it away?

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  Před 2 lety

      Many of us have been in that situation before. There are a few schools of thought around this. Giving it away simply passes the energy onto someone else. But if you know it was exploited in its harvest, you can ask forgiveness of the plant and state your positive intentions for its use. Personally I would check in with the plant... if that is within the scope of your practice. I hope that provides some guidance. ♥

    • @natalieo.6874
      @natalieo.6874 Před 2 lety +2

      @@SpiraeaHerbs Thank you! That's what I plan to do: state my positive intentions and ask the plant for forgiveness and then do the smoke cleanse. This was helpful thank you!

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  Před 2 lety +1

      @@natalieo.6874 I think that is beautiful. The medicine is already harvested so we do not want to waste it. As long as the energy from the plant seems loving (which I anticipate it will), you should be able to use it.

    Mam, WHY only these herbs are used? I want to know the reason behind these particular herbs...

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  Před 6 měsíci

      For me it was about what I had locally around me and what I was familiar with. You can use what is local to you!

    Question,what do you do when finished with smoke cleansing? Do you blow it out and then put it down? And during smoke cleansing do do you always keep it lit? I think that's what differentiates it from smudging,if you answer thank you so much,I'm very new to this and trying to learn how to respectfully practice :)

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  Před 3 lety

      When I feel the cleansing work is done I put the herbs out. Depending on the energy of the space I may discard the rest of the herbs by offering it back to the Earth. Other times I will continue to use the same herb bundle. It really depends on what I am doing. I very much work intuitively so my steps may not resonate with you. The key to this work is the intention behind it... this is more important than understanding particular steps. But of course... just my thoughts. Enjoy this journey of discovery!
