    I use to live on a lake in New England. If this stuff got in the lake and took hold before anyone notices, the lake is GONE in a decade. So can be nasty stuff. After I moved away it got found in the lake. They had to drain the lake down to a certain level and bring in back hoes to dig it up. It gets spread either by birds that eat bugs and picks up a seed and poops it out, or in the case of lakes boaters transport it from one location that is infested to another that is not. That is why they tell boaters to rinse their boats before going to a new location. Happens with invasive fish too.

      @SpiraeaHerbs Před 6 dny

      Thanks so much for your kind words. Its truly appreciated. To answer your question, yes alcohol would take care of anything unwanted on your herbs. There is not much that would survive that alcohol-based environment. I am picky in the sense that I won't choose herbs that look like they are bug eaten or have spider webs on them or anything like that. I do ensure that they are the most vital and healthy plants when I harvest. Hope that clarifies.

      Never do! I grow everything myself and I don't use any chemicals/pesticides. Washing herbs is a personal preference thing I find. There are two reasons why I don't wash mine: 1. When they are wet they throw off the ratios of water to alcohol (in the case of tinctures) or ACV and honey. 2. If I wait for them to dry completely they lose a lot of their potency as they wilt. But like I said, its personal preference.

      I was pondering putting in basil actually! I only didn't because I was worried how it would impact the taste. Not for me... for kiddo. So I say go for it!

      You can really add anything you want! I can't attest to the flavour when adding thyme or rosemary, but I don't see why not (except that it might be a bit too pungent??). And thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. It is much appreciated.
