Who's your favourite video game villain? Let us know!
Love that there was an Ace Attorney villain on this list! The first trilogy at least is truly fantastic. I think most hardcore fans of this series would probably choose Godot over Van Karma though - the catch is that he’s not introduced until the 3rd game so a lot of people may not have experienced him. He’s not particularly high on the evil scale, but he’s clearly one of the best villains of all time
I am sad, Count Bleck was a great villain with a sad backstory with a presumably a happy ending but Dimentio made a great impression of a villain but one of my more favorites is Team Star from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
This is probably too obscure for you all but AM from "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" is the most terrifying of all of the AI villains because of its pure sadism. Also, as stated elsewhere in the comments, That Dog from Duck Hunt is a bastard.
I hope to see 101 protagonist in video games as well
I am also glad that Kefka is on this list he is the best final fantasy villain and will always be better than Sethiroth.
Wild card entry: The gaming industry
Gottem’.
Apart from the gambling, it's like the most benign industry in the world.
Edgy…you showed “them”…now back to playing the games they made
Yet you play video games. Good job sounding stupid.
EA being the final boss
Here are a few honorable mentions:
1. Scott Shelby aka The Origami Killer (Heavy Rain)
2. Mario (Donkey Kong Junior, yes Mario was once a villain)
3. Sinistar (Sinistar)
4. Coily (Q*Bert)
5. Mike Tyson (Mike Tyson's Punch Out)
6. Singe (Dragon's Lair)
7. Dark Queen (Battletoads)
8. Lance Vance (Grand Theft Auto: Vice City)
9. Shang Tsung (Mortal Kombat series)
10. Akuma (Street Fighter series)
I can't believe you missed out Cousin Roman from GTA4 - the psychological warfare that bastard waved on you by continually asking to go bowling is up there with the absolute worst!
nice trolling
I love how the disclaimer at the start immediately heads off any fights over the placing of Sephiroth
Not much debate about him being the most iconic tbh. Debatable if he'd be the *best* game villain out there, but surely that's a whole another list.
I’m guessing they won’t list Adam Pacitti on here out of fear of repercussions. He does have the look of a final boss about him.
Always love these super long lists from you all at Triple Jump! Also glad to see so many of my favorite villains on this list as well! However, I am disappointed that Dr. Nefarious didn't get onto the list, but somehow, the dude from Quantom Break got on. To each their own, I suppose 😅 Great job all around, everyone!
Good list overall. Only notable omissions I can think of are Shang Tsung, King Dedede and any of the Gears of War villains.
Villains are listed in no particular order - places Master Hand at #69. Nice.
So many others to add like Psycrow, Wario, King K Rool, Shang Tsung, Kazuya Mishima, Mr X from Streets of Rage, Yami, Calypso come to mind.
Sagat from Street Fighter
Very solid list, TTJ. & here are some despicable mentions:
Alessa Gillespie - Silent Hill series
Brickster - LEGO Island series
Catalina - Grand Theft Auto series
Charles Jericho - Driver series
Dr. Nefarious - Ratchet & Clank series
Dr. Q. L. Killjoy - The Suffering series
Haytham Kenway - Assassin's Creed series
Lu Bu - Dynasty Warriors series
Mara Aramov (or Mara Aramova if you want to get grammatically correct about this) - Syphon Filter Series
Nemesis - Resident Evil 3
Nobunaga Oda - Onimusha series
Piggsy - Manhunt
Onikage - Tenchu series
Orochi - Okami
Zoran Lazarević - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Sagat Street fighter
One villain I'm a big fan of who wasn't on this list is Helis from Horizon Zero Dawn. The way he speaks and is absolute fanatical devotion to his beliefs is completely chilling not to mention his appearance.
As a die-hard RE fan, no villian comes close to the legendary Albert Wesker.
I would say if there were going to be any more it would be Umbrella themselves, one of the RE8 villains (Heisenberg is pretty iconic and the other houses are pretty tragic) or if you include them as one thing, the Baker Family. Like the new RE games were pretty good at giving real character to all the baddies
Kane, from Command and Conquer does. they even dress similar, and he is arguably more charismatic than Wesker. both are legendary though.
Dimitri GTA 4 pretty much unforgettable in my opinion. Definitely should have been in the list
I think the entry of Heihachi Mishima should be paired with Kazuya Mishima. Heihachi is the original villain but Kazuya takes on a more villains role as well by the time of Tekken 2.
Resi 4 number 1! Couldn't agree more. So good! Merry Christmas and happy New Year mate
FF7 was number 1 wdym
Ultimecia - FF8
Sweet Tooth - Twisted Metal series
Majima - Yakuza
Father Gascoigne - Bloodborne
I love how the video starts by saying these are not in any particular order, and they probably aren't intended to, yet you've got Robotnik, Bowser, Glados, Handsome Jack and Sephiroth all appearing at the end of the video.
It's why bands with one hit wonders wait until the very end to play the one song everyone knows. Keeps people watching through the whole thing.
Another absolutely incredible effort from all involved. Great work everyone!
Fantastic list. Thanks for this. It was a lot of fun to watch.
Oh hell yeah! Love these random lovely drops!
So many Final Fantasy and Metal Gear villains to choose from!
It’s nice you all picked some of the most iconic ones! The likes of Kuja and Skullface do deserve honorable mentions though.
As a skylanders fan I appreciate Kaos being mentioned and I can confirm we do defeat Kaos with the power of consumerism 😁
Alma #1 villain FTW
in the thumbnail, Alma looks like Ozzy Osbourne
Luca Blight (Suikoden II)
Seriously? You have 101 Villains and no William Afton? He definitely deserves to be on this list, what a disservice
I cannot believe you don't have Clockwork from the Sly Cooper Series. Some of the villains in this list are derived from pure hate, and to me, no other villain takes the cake more than the malicious metal owl. His actions are motivated by his hate of the whole Cooper Family bloodline, and he would stop at nothing to end the legacy. He is the mastermind who bands together with other villains to finish the job in the first game. Then the second game, the entire plot is trying to prevent him from coming back to life, which shows the true FEAR the protagonist (Sly Cooper) really has for him. He is one of the most underrated villains of all time, and every future villain in that series took inspiration from his hate.
WAIT STOP!
(Goes and makes popcorn.)
Okay, go ahead.
Nintendo has plenty of video game villains which one has already featured in Andross and of course Bowser as well as Wario and Gannon.
Honestly surprised that Kane of the Command & Conquer series didn't make it in this list. He's got that mix of determination, charisma, psychosis, ruthlessness & adaptability that's allowed him to more or less become the face of the main C&C series (not counting the Red Alert or Generals spinoffs).
Thats who I was expecting when I clicked on this video lol.
To be fair he *did* make a appearance in the first Red Alert game as well..
@@lafeelabriel True. Though he was more in the background as the silent puppeteer pulling Stalin's strings.
@@manofmercy1500 Which is a often under appreciated kind of villain to be fair.
Soul Calibur fan sitting here, watching the list go on, the numbers getting higher and higher, thinking that my one big vote wasn't going to make the list. That everyone forgot about how phenomenal of a villainous and evil force Nightmare/Soul Edge actually are (kinda like how Bamco has forgotten about the series altogether these days). Because there was _no way_ they'd make it above the likes of Wesker, Dracula, Ridley, Phantom Mantis, Pyramid Head, Kerrigan, or _Sans._
Then I get to #24 and realize, to my _great_ surprise, that they're not only on the list, but _high_ on the list!
Thanks for proving me wrong, Internet. Every once in a blue moon, you do something pretty good, like remember how fucking dope the SC franchise is.
They aren't in order
Oof, that was delivered cold, haha @@noodlebrains2689
I know they’re in no particular order, but I scrolled straight to number one expecting to see him there. Glad you decided to put him in that spot.
Him you say? I'm watching and haven't gotten there yet but I was expecting a her occupying the 1 spot
No Peter, you're completely right. As a father of 3 I can confirm that indeed "don't throw your child off the top of a tall structure" is pretty high up in the child rearing handbook's list of do's and dont's..
Me and my ex-wife added a new one to the list when our younger daughter was about 18 months old "always watch your toddler when they are playing outside. Because to a toddler, a snail (including shell) can actually appear quite appetising.."
Likewise when we told that particular incident to a close friend who also had small children, she said.. "Yeah.. add caramelised cat poo to the list as well.."
343 guilty spark....... wow never thought twice about this enemy
Seriously, how does this video have almost 300k views yet only three likes? 🤔
They switch the titles
In regards to Eric Sparrow from "Tony Hawk's Underground": "Friends" like him are the reason the song "Walk" by Pantera was written, recorded, and released on the band's 1992 album, "Vulgar Display of Power."
My top 10 conist of Ridley, Wesker, Sephiroth, Metal Sonic (although Eggman, Mephiles, and Chaos are great too), Volo, Armstrong (but Ocelot, Mantis, and Boss are strong contenders), Virgil, Ana/Konstantine from Rise of the Tomb Raider, Angus Bumby from Alice: MR (I hate him, but he's such a good villain), and Akuma.
The lack of Skull Kid hurts my heart
Wizpig unlocked all sorts memories I didn't want to unlock.
It was mentioned that Raziel, from the Legacy of Kain / Soul Reaver series, never started out to be the bad guy, but was forced into it.
Technically, not only was he one of Kain's lieutenants, but he was almost the, if not the, equal of Kain, meaning he was as much a bad guy as Kain all along. He just never wanted to go against Kain, but was forced into it.
Shoutout to my boy Malos! Wasn't expecting him but he definitely deserves a slot
1:16:37 no no dude you are the hero 💀
I did not know that the 4 ghosts from Pac-Man had names, and I certainly never realized they were tactical😮 I didn’t even realize they were ghosts at all xD
Villains I would add:
Ramirez, from Skies of Arcadia.
Dark Force / Dark Falz from the Phantasy Star series.
I find it difficult, because the list contains names of bad guys from games I've never played.
But my favorite villain is the character Desther Indelayne from the game Neverwinter Nights.
Hell yeah NWN fan represent. Top 5 games of all time for me❤
I beat Ornstein and Smough on my first try. I though it was gonna be hardest fight in the game. It was the easiest boss for me the whole game
I'd love to see a Mega Man games ranked list next 😁
Kreia from kotor 2 would be on my version of this list
Yes, KotOR is a great and beloved game but Malak isn't such a great character. Kreia is much better. But I knew Malak would be here because simping for KotOR I is popular
My Final Fantasy favorite would be Caius Ballad from XIII-2. While ending all of life and time would be considered more than just an overreaction under normal circumstances, I can't help but sympathize, knowing what he went through, having to see the one person he is literally fated to protect die over and over again ad infinitum.
The true stroke of genius though is that he not only succeeds in a wonderful gut punch of an ending, but that the protagonists never had a chance to win in the first place, dancing in the palm of his hand all along, as is emphasized through the non-choice you are given after the final fight to spare him and the paradox endings.
Also his musical theme with its variations is among Final Fantasy's best.
If there's anything unfortunate about him, it's that his character design is less than intimidating and that he's stuck in the middle part of a trilogy that doesn't belong to Final Fantasy's high points.
And that Lightning Returns destroys the beautifully bleak ending I mentioned. Always refused to play that...
sephiroth better
Wizpig and his henchmen are too adorable to be iconic villains.🥰
Whoops! Got spoiled for a game i've not finished. Oh well, i'd suspected Adachi anyway and i tend to be forgetful. I just think it's funny. 😅
Sans is never a villain wtf. He's an antagonist. The player is the villain.
Imagine including Wizpig and not including King K. Rool at all, at that point imagine if they included Fawful and didn’t include Bowser at all, imagine if they included Metal Sonic but didn’t include Dr. Eggman at all, imagine if they included Ghirahim but didn’t include Ganondorf at all, and finally imagine if they included Culex and didn’t include Sephiroth at all, that’s how King K. Rool’s exclusion from this video feels.
It’s embarrassing how many times I competed star fox 64. Could not stop playing. I was in 7th grade, don’t judge me!😂. N Mario 64, had to explore EVERYTHING. It was a game changer.
Love you guys!!
Love the shout out to the real "Master" !
No love for The Locust Horde/The Swarm? Or The Brethren Moons/Unitology? Or Shinnok? And a few good others. For the most part it’s a great list but feels like there are a few good ones that should definitely be on here WAY more than others.
Number 0: Player himself
Just remember all the evil things of yours in games...
I was just checking if Micah Bell and Dutch Van Der Linde were on the list in the description, since I only just started this video. If they weren’t, I would be ranting here right now.
Andross is also quite the comedian: "Only I have the "Brains" to rule Lylat!"
The Elder God from legacy of kain should be on this list. He was the mastermind of all conflict and hatred across nosgoth just to keep his wheel of fate spinning.
He was the biggest villain is the series
Ashton’s jawns still hittin even after 8 YT suggested auto plays
Speaking of iconic villain's does anybody remember Culex and his awesome Boss Music.
The greater good
Lack of any of Bioware's fantasy RPG villain is pretty painful. No Sarevok, Jon Irenicus or Loghain? Baldur's Gate series basically kickstarted Bioware's legend.
Meanwhile we get Sans who is iconic, but can he really be considered a villain when he only opposes us if we are the murderous assholes?
Whats the background music
Really glad Frau Engel was in this list. She was legit one of the most horrifying villains i've encountered in a game. This woman is literal damaged goods.
I can't believe it's taken me until today to realize that the protagonist of Bioshock is named Jack Ryan... Does Tom Clancy know about this?
Must be one of the most common names in the English language though, no?
Take a drink every time the narrators say "Titular"
"Wait, stop, don't open that door!" Opens the door... Every single enemy on this list is on the other side. Good luck.
What makes the best video game villain one you love yet hate some games it only works first play or before you watched spoilers
I will be happy as long as Wesker, Liquid Snake, and Patches make the list.
You say its random, but having said that we all know the last 10 will be the best. Even Billy Ray Walnus knows that.
The streamer beating melania with the dance mat is impressive but so is "letmesoloher" a player known for soloing melania while nude, using a mere katana and usually doesnt take a single hit from her. (There is thousands of stream clips of this person. They are real and watching the video is nothing short of astonishing)
Spat my coffee out at "Sunderland"
Im curious if Ganondorf and Ganon will have seperate entries .
Eric "A-Face" Sparrow certainly gave new meaning to the term "Butthead".
I still play these songs the way I learned from this book
Called it! I won't spoil the fun but #1 was the first villain I thought of
Handsome Jack 👑
“OH BOY (or girl or other)!! Is becoming something of a channel catchphrase!
Hope Vaas and at least 1 Persona 5 villain is on here. Maybe Akechi
Could we get an honourable mentions for EA and Blizzard?
Also, F*** General Shepard.
Well thanks. That Simon Miller shodan haunts my dreams now.
Not been in my feed for a while cos.... CZcams 🙄
So... Bump bump bump for the algorithm
Melania is the only elden ring boss I fully gave up on lol
Father Karras from Thief II and The Guardian from Ultima VII are two legendary and iconic game antagonists I personally would have included.
Also, “Mecha-Hitler is like Hitler, but even worse”? Oh, so Stalin then.
There is no way Kefka is as low as 85th
They aren't ranked... These are in no particular order..
So a giant hand is a more iconic villain than Albert Wesker? Gotcha.
Can the analytics tell that I skip over all the parts where Ashton talks?
If it was me, I would have had at least one character from SNK - Geese, Rugal, Goenitz...... I guess I am watching western channel alright.
Always Sephiroth never Kuja.
What good is being evil if nobody remembers you eh?
15:57 lmao I love how tall she is
He didn't make the list - but I strongly support "Premier Cherdenko" from Command and Conquer 3. Acted by legendary Tim Curry, his over-the-top acting style just *sells* the character.
And who can forget "I'm Escaping, to the ONE PLACE that hasn't been corrupted by CAPITALISM!!!!"....
.... "SPACE!!!"
Since we can’t do a battle royale, I’m doing the next best thing. I am going to take every villain in this list, have them face each other gauntlet style with the help of ChatGPT, and keep it going until there is an ultimate winner. Wish me luck!
EDIT 1: 14:00 Elden Ring came out in 2022, after ChatGPT’s database ends, so simulating that fight is impossible, but so far 343 Guilty Spark has emerged victorious in every battle so far, so let’s assume he wins this one too.
EDIT 2: 23:24 Despite me saying that there had to be a decisive winner, Kessler proved to be the first person capable of drawing with Guilty Spark. I reestablished my rule, and Guilty Spark won anyway. But he may be tiring out!… Maybe!
EDIT 3: 31:13 Another fight that’s impossible to simulate since ChatGPT doesn’t know 2022 video games. But… yeah, Guilty Spark’s still going. He hasn’t lost yet.
EDIT 4: 32:48 Somehow we got another draw. I’m going to have the AI simulate it again…. Okay, it didn’t even simulate a battle. It just said Guilty Spark won. I’m not satisfied with that. I’m going to try this one more time… Guilty Spark wins. The streak continues!
EDIT 5: 36:52 I swear, if THIS was the villain that dethroned Guilty Spark, I would have lost my mind. But, well, he didn’t. The streak remains alive.
EDIT 6: 41:10 I had to run this fight three times because ChatGPT wasn’t understanding the “one boss absorbs the other’s powers” mechanic. Each time Guilty Spark won. I’m starting to think Guilty Spark is unbeatable.
EDIT 7: 59:15 When 343 Guilty Spark beat this villain, I took a short break from the gauntlet setup and had him fight other powerful foes. 343 Guilty Spark beat the entire Greek Pantheon, drew with God, and finally lost to Chuck Norris. I… I don’t even know what to say anymore.
Spoilers for Radiant Historia, which was remade for the 3DS and is the best DS AND 3DS game, period, in my opinion
Heiss is an amazing villain. A massive part of his villainy is, in fact, done out of love for the main character, who is his nephew. He uses time travel to try and make things work out so that The Ritual, which requires a human sacrifice, would not be carried out. Minor detail, The Ritual is necessary to stop an eldritch monster from sucking all the life out of the world. He was designated as a sacrifice, but escaped, and so Ernst was supposed to be the next one-but Heiss kidnapped him and wiped his memories so he would become Stocke-our main character. Heiss is Stocke's uncle, and so carries out much of his villainy to PROTECT Stocke-with no regard for the fate of the world.
Then in the true ending of the original game, he saved Stocke from The Ritual by making himself the sacrifice. In the remake, he changes his ways and survives, and the eldritch monster is killed so The Ritual never has to be carried out again. (and there's even more stuff going on with him)
Hey for pokemon Platinum to the best of my knowledge the red chain Could NOT control giritina. As until Palkia and Dialgia were captured Cyrus didn't know Giritina exhisted. He got kidnapped BY giritina to the reverse world.
Emet Eelch 😢
You forgot to put Sephiroth in the thumbnail
I hoped for Kessler to be there.
There was Kessler in there!
YYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHH (positively)
Wasn't master hand in battle toads double dragon before super smash bros?
