Gg1 Gg1 Ha. Agreed. But as a mathematician, the theorem is based on a vacuum. Meaning, the measurements used must take place without a single variable unaccounted for. The analysis in this video was VERY well done. And represents an “approximation”. The density of the air, literally at a microscopic level, would effect the speed anything is moving at. As would every minor particle the object (quick silver) encountered. I LOVE what was done in this video. So it’s no criticism at all. Just want to point out that the kinematics used in this didn’t account for A LOT of variables. Which means the calculations may be a little off. And by a little.....when it comes to numbers this high, nowhere NEAR enough to make the results less than compelling. Great work to those who made this happen. Just remember all. When it comes to physics. There is A LOT more that needs to come into play in calculations before you can assign a real world number to a “fake” 🤣 video. Great vid and it made my day. And for those not math inclined. If all the data were there for every variable that wasn’t accounted for.....all it would mean is the number for how fast quick silver was running would be HIGHER.

The sound itself still needs to travel from the earpiece to the ears, at quicksilver time that would cause a very laggy sounding song at the very least if the sound waves aren't somehow being accelerated beyond the speed of sound.
During the bee moment, I think it would be more reasonable to assume instead of time slowing down linearly it would do so exponentially, meaning the last wing flap would have taken 12 seconds and Quicksilver would be moving roughly 2,765 times faster than a bee flap.
Love the video! I actually did my own calculation of Quicksilver's speed a while back, and actually came out with Very similar numbers! I even Cosplayed Quicksilver twice.

Justin Mercado well that's something funny about Mutants in X-men is that sometimes they don't have the required secondary powers. Or basically the passive abilities that allows a power like super strength to work without any detrimental draw back. Like how superman can lift a car without it crumbling under all its weight being held up by two points the size of human hands. Or how rogue can't turn off her skins ability to absorb the life force and powers of people she touches. Mutants like Cyclops and his brother Havok are immune to each other's powers because they work the same way but manifest differently. (Eye beams, and hand blasts) So Quicksilver probably has similar passive abilities that make sure his powers don't have any personal drawbacks.

Quicksilver has songs set at certain speeds, it helps him know how fast hes going relative to other people.
In these scenes hes sticking mostly to the speed of the song, but speeds up when its required.

Basically Quicksilver is moving so fast that his shockwaves would cause far more destruction than the explosion, and anyone he rescues would just die instantly from being touched by him (also g-forces). His superpower must include passing through air molecules as if there was no air, and canceling out all g-forces on anything he touches.

@Ibrahim Khan 1. The bomb took that long to blow up to fill up the whole episode or else it would have been a short episode. 2 flashes top speed went 10925.38 speed of sound and quicksilver went 11729.912 speed of sound. It's not far apart but quicksilver beats him in speed barely.

He's FTL actually in my own calculations.
The mansion was actually 76 654 square feet according to movoto.com. Using the time you found the closest explosive would be the ONC which has a detonation velocity of 10 100 m/s. A bee flaps it's wings 230 bps and it took 12 seconds for it to flap, meaning quicksilver is roughly 3000 times faster than the explosion. Don't forget he was moving super-speed in super-speed. Dividing the velocity by 7 (average human speed), we get his perception of time while running super-speed in super-speed. He ran 300 metres to get out of the mansion according to Google Maps, meaning he's 15 times the speed of light. Holy fuck.

The mansion guess was a huge underestimate. Take into consideration that he also has to carry people and that weight would cause him to run slower than full speed. Since he's running so fast, the air resistance of the people he's carrying would be exponentially larger than normal.

This was a well structured Calculation of QS's speed feat from the scenes in X-Men. However, I think the detonation velocity was very much upscaled, I hardly think it was anywhere near 7000m/s based on its yield and the size of the entire mansion.
Perhaps around 1000-4000. It was a movie set in 1983 and the generator could be gas powered or nuclear powered, however, it wasn't a weapon.

does this account for all the time he spends standing still? he is messing around or reacting to people for a substantial part of the scene, and we see him move at increased speed during some of the scenes. I don't see how an average speed for the scene would get anywhere close to how quick he moves at top speed, like when he saves the people on the floor of the main room.

He is not. Not by comics, not in screen time. The reason is speed force. Flash, by comics, can run up to 140.000.000 faster than the speed of light before erasing himself from existence. Comic quicksilver could barely stand 15 times faster. But, you think in terms of screen time..... Flash max speed is 0.9987 from the speed of light. Quicksilver is fast, but he is limited by his body, cos he would kill himself at very high speed from colliding with the atoms. He has limits. Flash has speed force, meaning as soon as he starts running he creates a barrier with no physical limits, which protects him from dying. Therefore, just because of the OP speed force, Barry is faster. But, if they both had this, quicksilver would maybe win. Who knows....

He is moving at 1,333km per second! It's just better to say 1,333 meters per millisecond because that's actually where we see Quicksilver move. We're not watching him move from El Paso TX to Los Angeles CA in 1 second...We're watching him save a school so yeah 1,333 meters per millisecond (with 340,000 nanoseconds of spare time to drink an energy drink, eat pizza, crack his knuckles, moonwalk, stand around at certain points, goof off, etc.)

In CW Barry's defence, he really hasn't been the Flash for too long.
The thing is? In the kitchen scene, I’ve noticed that when he’s moving normally “as in the camera shows him moving at apparent normal speed” the forks and knives and everything are moving slowly. When he speeds up, however (to save the rest of the gang from the bullets) the forks and knives speed up, as if he’s still moving the same speed, just played back faster. It might just be his speed moving the cutlery, but I’m not too sure.

The flash on cw is still not faster than this version of quicksilver. Quicksilver was able to save everyone in the mansion in X men apocalypse, and keep in mind he was fooling around a bit too.
Barry would not have the time to fool around like that, and even then, he couldn't save everyone. Therefore, quicksilver is faster.
Barry will be faster than quicksilver one day on cw, but that has not happened yet.

Superspeed, and time slows down when he senses danger.
Imagine quicksilver going at full speed and he starts punching someone without stopping, if your not him then imaging he punches your hand, then your hand would turn into ham burger meat in one second in your perception

Matthew Lin, you're right but in comics, QS is faster than light like 100000 times but flash is still pretty much faster and it will took him 0.00001 second for him to defeat comic QS but for them it'll be like several hours, and also speed force allows him to time travel
