Anything that allows extreme acceleration, which is much more important than velocity to Quicksilver's stop-and-go antics than our video host here cared to acknowledge.

You forgot to add Einstein's general relativity to your calculations. Even moving just one-tenth the speed of light, time actually slows down (called Time Dilation). This gives Quicksilver the ability to "buy time" for himself by increasing his speed. Hence his nonchalant smirk while stopping to save the girl's fish, checking the toilet stalls, licking his hands and giving one boy a quick hairdo, stopping to cringe at the kissing boy, drinking some Tab Cola and polishing off a pizza before saving the dog (when I laughed the hardest btw). So it's not just how fast Quicksilver runs, but how intuitively he is able to slow time and manipulate it to his advantage! ;)

Also, he couldn't have had multiple gulps of the cola (as per the sound effects while he drinks it) because he'd need for the cola to drop from the can at the same rate as his speed, because gravity is still 9.8 m/s for the cola

He wouldn't be that much faster. His body wouldn't be able to run faster than the speed of light. If he does run at the speed of light, then his body would burn up into energy. Unlike the Flash, Quicksilver isn't tapping into an energy purer than light.

u guys have it wrong. when speedsters run, they're perception of times slows so if someone talks while he's running say the scene in days of future past if Xavier kept yelling at magneto while he was moving the bullets and all that it'd take forever for him to finish his sentence. when they're not running, everything is normal time like everyone else

You will notice quite often when Quicksilver runs with somebody he grabs the back of their head for safety.
Cyborg Satyr wouldn't matter. Still would disintegrate them, which is why the real explanation is that the forces that protect him also extends to people when he touches them.

Yep, anything in physics that would be a problem for you would just not matter cuz he bends reality around him and can independently bend reality of other things around him too. He doesn’t have to slow down to seem normal, he just bends relativity so that he is perceived as normal or vice versa.
His powers as shown in these movies really just says he bends physics, which is like the non lazy way of explaining it while still making sense. No speed force necessary, his real power is just being a god.

well, in that speed, a human's head will be immediately decapitated...there's a reason why every vehicle has a headrest in each seat, if an accident occurs, without the headrest, the passengers would suffer internal decapitation
As he learned to harness his power, he became able to accelerate people to his speed the same way he does himself, preventing catastrophic injury or the effects of friction. I think it is mentioned in the comics a few times.
Being able to move at a tenth of the speed of light, he experiences a certain amount of time dilation, which could possibly explain how he doesn't age much. Of course one would have to do an explicit calculation to check if this is plausible.
Ok, I did a quick calculation, and the time dilation effect when moving at a tenth of the speed of light isn't much, so the only explanation for how quicksilver looks only two years older after 10 years have passed is that he's able to move much faster than shown in the movie. In order for two years to be dilated to 10 years, one would need to be constantly moving at 98/100 of the speed of light.
At that speed, one would have to take relativistic effects like time dilation and length contraction into consideration tho

i think that quicksilver has a time bubble . cuz the stuff that he touches moves at the speed in wich he is moving apearing to us as if its at normal speed but when it goas far from him it slows down immediately.so what i think is that quicksilver powers in these movies are the fact that he has a time bubble that keeps him and other ppl or objects within the bubble at normal speed whilst everything else is in slowmo and vice versa due to relativity ......or at least thats what i think

Definitely there has to be a lot more to his speedster powers than supercharged muscles. He can move fast, think fast, and doesn't even feel things which would liquefy a normal human moving at those speeds. I think some kind of localized space/time bubble makes the most sense.

Feel like quicksilver's power is time control rather than super speed. If you're in a very fast car, you're just gonna see blurs of your surrounding. Quicksilver, however, is seeing everything around him in slo-mo. His power is more about controlling his own time stream. It's kinda like Tracer's power from Overwatch

The very fact that the people he threw out of the mansion or any of the people he moved didn't die, must mean that he has more power than just super speed. He must be able to control things around him in some unknown and weird way.

James Cupples Aye. And first time we saw Quicksilver, he was automatically in Mach 1. Flash took a bit to reach that, and he needs to speed up to even get there. Flash, in C.W, seems to be "cheated" by being able to race through time without reaching the Speed of Light.

If he's faster than a 1/10 *c his body would need to be nigh indestructible. He'd be experiencing upwards of 1.6*10^10 gs. 1g being one normal gravity. If you're really tough you black out at 10gs after a few seconds. imagine somebody not passing out at 16000000000 gs. That's nuts. He's more OP than anybody in the XMen Universe and Newton's laws don't seem to affect him. So he probably isn't just fast, he can alter the laws of physics around him.

The scenes with Quicksilver are indeed truly amazing, but as you said I am also surprised by how overpowered he is. In a realistic scenario (if you exclude the fact that a human running at that speed would obliterate everything he ran past) he's unstoppable. This guy can literally annihilate the entire X-Men before they can react. So, to sum it up, his power makes amazing scenes but it's terrible for the plot.
also in a commercial, Cyclops shot a laser and quicksilver saw it just as the way he sees bullets. lasers are light speed, his lasers was probably near. does this mean his speed is beyond light.

0:22 i didn't watch this video in months because i didn't keep watching due to the spoiler alert haha and now i find myself in this video again.
I think he isn't actually physically that fast, seems to me that a lot of the things he does don't violate pure physics because perhaps part of his speed is due to a control of time itself for him and the things he touches and has touched for a very short time. So I can see how Stryker would have been able to get the drop on him, he has to kick his powers in fully to get the faster pseudo-time-reflexes.
Super speed is the most ridiculous super power in comics... so over powered. Nothing should be able to stop Flash or Quicksilver.

or possibly he might have the power to make chronal fields rather than super spead meaning he can make a field, typically around his body in which a parameter for the dimension of time is altered that he can posibly subconsciously extend to things within a certain range (explaining how he can listen to music and not spontaneously combust from the air friction) that he may be able to apply to humans he touches if he chooses to do so but is unable to help their brains jumpstart to a time mode where they could utilise it making them just stand there blissfully unavare of anything going on

Yeah, I've always thought that if anyone is traveling that fast and they touch anyone, even if it's to move them...that person would be dead instantly. That is...unless he has a way of "sharing" this "time and space" with those he touches so as to not hurt them.
Also, yeah...when striker landed and shot that gun thing...he should have been able to stop that without any problems.
Yeah, the movie is jam packed full of deal breaking plot holes and broken physics.
He has to be warping space and time. It just visually manifests as speed.
Sidenote: Deal breaking plot hole: Why force Xavier to send the planet message? Why not just do the pyramid build, body swap, and then do it yourself? End of movie because he'd have owned Xavier before heroes even figured out where he was. (there are MANY others)

The Director and Crew of X-Men Apocalypse made a behind the scenes video stating that they wanted to take Quicksilers power to a new level, as they had a camera that runs 3000 frames per second which that set up the background. They probably wanted it to seem that he was going 1/10 past light speed.

Okay. Watch what happens when QS lets go of an object. It returns to normal time. People ignore this aspect of his power. Look at the Twinkie. It stays in the air when he lets go. So, the people he threw immediately return to normal time when he let's go of them. QS's power isn't just speed. He seems to be able to manipulate time on a small scale.

Yea actually, if you ve seen a vid with camera at 1 million fps showing light itself moving he says at some point that if we had a bullet run across the camera screen at a million fps it would take the bullet 2 fucking years to do that exact thing, and he said quicksilver was moving at a tenth of light speed, yes explosion is faster than bullets and w/e all the points you have on this you might want to think a bit about this video's stupid math, time to drop some dislikes boys
He ran in and out of the mansion multiple times starting with the lowest possible level then moving up, he easily ran a few miles doing those multiple trips in and out of the mansion and that's only to the deepest level and the foyer combined not including the various other parts, I think you seriously underestimate how much would have been involved and I just noticed you said km not m the truth is though we don't know how far down the lower levels really are or how he'd have gained access for instance one way may have involved a lot more distance to cover than another
That makes me ask how quick are Apocalypse eyes, and powers. Being he was able to spot Quicksiver moving at that speed, and use his rock powers to grab his ankle.
I think of quick silver as a guy who isn't so much fast, as... working on a time-stop power, but isn't all the way there yet.
But I LOVED this scene in Apocalypse, where... even though he can't yet stop time, he's confident that he can slow it down enough to take on an explosion... cracking his knuckles at the start, and then just working through it, one room at a time.

At those relativistic speeds, distances relative to him begin to shorten - everything gets squished, so he didn't travel the full distance relative to the observer from the driveway to the mansion. But yeah, those people he saved would have been goo accelerating from 0 to 1/12th the speed of light instantly.

Everyone's skin should have melted, bones should have broken, clothes should have disintegrated and incinerated (especially his own), and much more. It doesn't really make sense that he could slow down while throwing them because since he is fighting against an explosion he can only slow down so much if he wants to get them all out. Even if he did they would not be able to handle it (To them he is not slowing down but tossing them at super speed). So he would have to throw them at a speed that would kill them.

If he runs faster than the speed of light then in my theory he would run out of our physical realm or at the least out of our ability to perceive. Im not a huge follower of comic books. Light was already there in the first place. In theory, no one could actually outrun light to run into darkness itself. That's not how "faster than light speed" works. Light is already everywhere. The light you emit when you turned on a flashlight in the middle of the night in the woods 10 years ago would probably still be traveling the universe.
yungasme im most certain you are wrong because when you are in a dark room and you turn the lights on and off the room goes back dark again. The light doesnt just go on for eternity.

He turns it off when he is interacting with people which is why Stryker's (Thats the bad military guy's name right) guns actually affected him. it's likely his power is the power to alter time rather than super speed which would explain any inconsistencies like him not flinging the kids to the midle east for example
but now that I think about It it could be both because he sometimes superspeeds while superspeeding
So quick silver manipulates time around him to move fast 💨 but how come it doesn’t effect anyone around him e.g. sonic booms, liquefying people around him and straight up breaking people when he touches them. So he can not only manipulate time for himself but also for the people around him.

Without getting into the math, the easiest way to conceptualize it is to realize Havok/Alex was basically obliterated by the blast wave of the explosion... the same blast wave we saw spreading through the mansion in slow motion, while QS zipped through and occasionally went double superspeed to accelerate all the people out of the mansion. And somehow they all made it out without injury.

Flash can basically tap into the time force, even moving back through time. He could arrive a day before you even teleported. Time & Distance are irrelevant to him.

Logic doesn't work in movies
In my interpretation, Quicksilver's ability isn't always active. He can drastically increase his speed whenever he sees or senses that shit's going down, but he doesn't experience every second of every day like that. Otherwise there would be no way he could interact with people or things moving in normal time. This means that he must have sensed (who knows how) that there had been an explosion in the mansion, activated the ability, and only then run into it to save everyone. This probably makes his speed even faster, as he ran all the way from the road into that room in the basement of the mansion in the time it took for the explosion to get from its origin point to just past where Havoc was.

Speedsters are not actually speedsters. They can consciously or unconsciously manipulate time dilation. This solves many of the paradoxes of super speed. By being able to make a single second the equivalent of a day or a week allows Quicksilver to appear to be moving at hyper-velocity when in fact he isn't. Think about it.
