If Barbie had been released in the 90's it would have been forgotten in the second week of release. It didn't deserve to win anything. 99% of the trash coming out of Hollywood today isn't award worthy, Barbie is no exception.

The irony that Barbie the wokest movie of 2023 wins only 1 Oscar at the Awards and Oppenheimer a masterpiece in filmmaking and a tense, realistic meaningful, entertaining movie wins 7 Oscars at the woke Hollywood awards show. It's a delicious irony.

Oppenheimer was brilliant. Worthy of Academy Awards. Just because Barbie made a lot of money that doesn't make it a great movie. It just makes it a Blockbuster.
If Box Office mattered- We would have had TRANSFORMER movies winning Oscars. Box Office has nothing to do with quality.
People need to stop calling this a snub if Barbie doesn't win an award. In the top 15 biggest films of all time, only like 5 or 6 of them have an Oscar. Box office performance doesn't automatically translate to award winners.
Daniel Day Lewis is not Irish born. Cillian is the first Irish born man to win a Best Actor Award at the Oscars and also the first to win a BAFTA.

Barbie wasnt an oscar film. None of the actors had to reach deep down inside themselves to bring out a character that needed depth lol let's be honest.

Oppenheimer was ok. It wasn't anywhere at the level of the great biopics of the past. When everything is accompanied by highly exitable, dramatic and noisy music, telling you how to feel, it does diminish the quality. Also, they spend so much energy on the McCarthyism, only to then kind of admit that American Communists gave the Bomb to the Soviet Union. Both things were awful in real life, but the film didn't seem to notice any connection.
So yeah, Oppenheimer is fine, but by modern Holliwood standards, it is a work of Genius, because most other projects have been absolutely pure crap.
It was ok. The bomb sequence after all of the dramatic lead up was a damp squib. I expected it to be emotional in some way considering it was world changing, but nothing. There was very good acting and good cinematography, but the film as a whole was mediocre and overly long imo. Plus it was basically a remake.
Clowns who think Barbie deserves all the awards because it grossed soo much. They never thought that before when a movie made a lot of money.

Fast and Furious 8 has a very big balance as well so would you say that was a great movie?
Oppenheimer could have been a great film, but it was let down by shooting a talking head picture in IMAX...why? and music drowning out dialogue.
Barbie was a great feelgood and funny film taking the mick out of itself, very watchable and hilarious in places.
The creator, mission impossible and others were overlooked . Overall a woke and dull selection.

Bingo! Mission Impossible was actually brilliant, normally would overlook those films seriously as an action flick, but it was the best film since ironically Maverick. Oppenheimer was a long drawn out drama, more suitable as a mini series.
