      It’s funny to ear that. I’m in the same situation. I be discovered a restaurant of English food and I was surprised to see how good is English trqditional food… they cook well and even if it is not full of flavours it tastes VERY GOOD. We need variety of food and taste to make an amazing world 🌎

    so much just isn't right about this.. 1. totally unseasoned chicken is not the way to go... where is the stuffing?? (sage and onion paxo at least) also veg was just dead boiled veg?? there are 100's of ways to add flavour to veg.. garlic lemon and butter broccoli... honey roasted carrots and cauliflower cheese for example... gravy could of done with a splash of white wine, cranberry jelly for sweetness (anything to give in personality character and flavour) need to go back to the drawing board on this one ... sorry.. :(

    • @mervinprone
      @mervinprone Před 2 lety

      Potatoes had strong seasoning w the rosemary and thyme, chicken had the lemon and garlic. Carrots can be nice and fresh when plain and balance the assertive flavours of the others. Cheesy cauliflower sounds good

    • @janetscarfe4798
      @janetscarfe4798 Před rokem

      Zoe Dixon Par boil potatoes and drain shake to rough up. Put in fridge some chefs say put in freezer. Anyway when ready put in dish with fat, not olive oil as burns. Cook in oven along with chicken and they will be very crispy. Also traditionally Yorkshire puddings were only served with beef. I notice they are served with all meats and poultry now. I had one in London pub so large I asked for small side plate as it kept falling of my plate. Yes cauliflower cheese is nice and parboil carrots and parsnips and roast with chicken halfway through cooking time. Just a few more ideas for a delicious roast dinner.
