      I'm from Ecuador (south America), I'm a chef and a foodie by heart. I've had the chance to live in several countries, currently we are based in England, I've tried food from all over the world, I haven't tried much of British food (due to diet requirements), tho the English breakfast is bomb. I'm here today as I want to try a good Sunday roast, only by it's items I know it's delicious.

    Okay… I am American, and I have been seeing this meal for years. I have never had a Yorkshire pudding. I thought I would make this full meal. For fun you know? I like to cook and this looked delicious. My life in now ruined, my family ate until they were sick, my baby rubbed the gravy on her face, my 7 year old drank gravy from her pudding like it was a cup. Delicious doesn’t even scratch the surface of this meal. This was definitely the best video I found on the meal. Thank you? I dunno, I think I’m upset that this meal is going to haunt my dreams.

    Question: what cut of meat is that which will be so tender when cooked for such a short time??
    We had a true Sunday Dinner after church every week while I was growing up. In the dining room. With a tablecloth and the ‘good dishes,’ some sort of centerpiece on the table, and a proper dessert. What a lost art! And how did my mother pull it off week after week?
    I wanted to share this story: Yorkshire Pudding is not commonly known in America, but somewhere along the line my parents (foodies) found a recipe for it. They only knew to use the roast drippings for the recipe. My goodness, we all loved it! However, we only had Yorkshire Puddings for Christmas dinner with the annual Prime Rib Roast. A parental argument was born. Using the drippings for the Puddings meant far less gravy! Father wanted the gravy. Mother wanted the Yorkshire Pudding! They dealt with it as they always did….compromise. Hence, the meal rotated from year to year. 😂 It was even noted in the recipe book!
    The other holiday food compromise I remember was with the turkey soup made from the Thanksgiving turkey carcass. Mother liked Turkey Rice Soup. Father wanted Turkey Noodle Soup. Noted also in the back of Mom’s cookbook to prevent any gaslighting. My father was a skilled gaslighter and could make you doubt your memory of which was served the previous year. 🤎🤎😂😂 They were hilarious and happily married.
    Thanks for your channel content. I’ve just found you while looking for Sunday dinners and reviewing your recipes, I’ll be marathoning them all!

    • @ChristopherShaun
      @ChristopherShaun  Před 9 měsíci

      Thank you so much for the story. That’s really cool. And thank you for the sun and all the future watching hah. The cut is a fillet but to be honest with most cuts that you would use for this meal like a rib or sirloin you won’t want to cook it much longer because then it will be over pink and it’s never good to have it more than medium.

    • @ChristopherShaun
      @ChristopherShaun  Před rokem

      Grape juice could work but you wanna try to valence out the sweetness that comes with grape juice. Depending on the meat you could always use orange juice or cranberry juice too, just reduce it to a nice consistency to gain even more flavour, and just experiment. Let me know how it goes too

      Im wondering if you’re trying to take the piss because I didn’t add the shire on the end. But just to let you know, most of us in England don’t bother pronouncing the shire.

      Americans always say WAR-CHESTER-SHIRE sauce but we just say Worcester sauce , pronounced Wooster Sauce like they city where it was invented.

      I mean you can say it either way! But you can’t tell an Englishman how to say it properly unless you know yourself right?

    Good recipes, but you've got to present clean bowls and clean materials to your audience, not dirty one's. Some of the stuff you used looked very dirty, even the surfaces. It's simply unappetizing. I'm not sure about the final presentation. I'd leave them all in their individual dishes, but hey, it's your thing. I'd do that more for a charcuterie.

      Thanks for the feedback. I know I have a bit to work on, thinking about filming and cooking and editing and clean areas and everything is a lot more difficult than it looks. I’m hoping I’m getting better and will continue in the future. And I really like the idea of it all on the board and placed in the centre of the table for everyone to help themselves. I appreciate the comment tho. Hope you stick around for more vids.

      I completely understand your issue. It’s so hard to regulate the temperature of an oven that uses gas marks. My advice is to buy an oven safe thermometer so you can always know the exact temp of your oven. As they can be so temperamental. But I’m guessing you don’t have time to go out and get one as I think your about to cook it now. So I would go with gas mark 4 as that is roughly between 170-180C. And then just keep an eye on how quickly your beef is browning. Hope that helps.

      Haha I understand. But I’m sure the whole cooking process has been fun as is should be and not too stressful, dosnt matter the outside as long as your happy and proud of trying.

    Well, times are changing.
    I'd prefer my meal on a plate.
    Not cold, on a wooden rack.
    And a stuffing is only a stuffing if it was stuffed into something before.
    Could go on . . .
    Poor.
