Has Michael Chandler Completely Wasted His Time?

- When Michael Chandler first entered the UFC he went straight into the deep end fighting the baddest men in the lightweight division. Has all that dwindled because of this endless pursuit of a fight with Conor McGregor?

Connor is a troll. He couldn't care less about Michael Chandler
Conor mccoverrated not a single title defense 🤡
I don't even think it's trolling, Connor generally just cares about marketing himself more than he does fighting. He probably cared more about TUF with Chandler than actually doing the fight.
@@Godzilla52he wants to be marketed as a ducking coward? because thats what he is until he fights chandler.
Conor just likes seeing his name in headlines. Good or bad
It's Conor....casual.
Ironic Dana talks about Henry wasting 3 years of his career yet has no problem having Chandler sit on the sidelines for McGregor for 2 years.
I'm pretty sure Dana would tell Chandler the same thing he told everyone else, he's most likely advised against waiting for Connor.
@@tarancehill651you do remember Dana encouraged Dustin Poirier to wait to fight McGregor twice and admonished Holly Holm for pushing forward after head kick KOing Ronda, instead of waiting for the rematch.
Its almost like Connor brings in as much money in one fight as Henry does in 3 years so connor can do pretty much whatever while Henry has different standards..... It's all 💲💲💲😮
Dana did mock Chandler during a press conference for wasting his prime waiting for Conor. "You know how I feel about waiting." When asked about the absolute desperation of Chandler clinging to this fight
Chandler is a grin ass man who makes his own decisions, this is all on him.
Micheal Chandler is a great example of why you have to put your career in your own hands instead of letting the higher up’s make the decisions for you. They’ll treat you like you’re nothing
Chandler is choosing to wait. They even given him a date & he waiting. Just keeps screaming Conor’s name into a mic
@@poncetek-1119 They've given multiple dates and later said none of them were happening.
100 percent. It never pays to be a company man in the end. Why be a company man for a company that sees you as a pawn
Dude he chose this, you think UFC wants Chandler to waste the last few years of his career? He wasted it himself waiting for that Conor red panty night
That WWE call out was the nail in the coffin lol
It's literally them taking advantage of having two advertising bodies now 😂
Crowd was silent and booing kinda 😂 in the live a seen the wwe are notorious for putting in fake cheers felt bad for him
Nice to see Tom Aspinal and Stipe Miocic having a convo... they look kinda rough tho.
Looks like they cut to welterweight?
diet tom and stipe lite
dude stop! xD
😂😂😂😂
I really hope the UFC does right by Chandler. We have potentially lost two years of Mike, who is so damn fun to watch. He deserves the fight.
honestly though, knowing the ufc they really don't care on whether they do him right or not. if michael looks bad and loses then dana is going to give the same "this sport doesn't wait for anyone" spiel. im not saying michael doesn't deserve the fight but the ufc is more worried about conor coming back than michael getting what he deserves tbh
Why do you mention the ufc?
Did you think the ufc dictates who Conor fights?
😂
Nope.
You can forget about that.
It's Mike's own fault. He did TUF without a signed contract, and to this day, he still doesn't have a signed contract. He's clearly not hurting for money and gave up on ever becoming a champ. Mike took himself from us, and he could have fought at any point. He just wants one last payday from Conor, and that's it.
It's his own fault.. they literally told him he could fight someone else in the meantime and still fight McGregor when he came back
He could have went and fought im sure. He sat out thinking he was getting the biggest payday. Could have just stayed active
My wife has entered and completed medical school and is now halfway through residency since mcnugget's last title win

Enjoy getting cheated by all the doctors and hospital personnel alike 😂😂😂
Let me guess, you paid for the college?
before I even watch the video, yes, yes he did
Conor will never fight again. He is just keeping the conversation going to keep being famous.
Exactly
Just likes his name in headlines good or bad. He paid & that’s all he cares about or his ego
I agree, it is pretty annoying. He should take his own career advice. As a young man he said all he wanted to do was make a lot of money and then bounce.
Probably, he does have a movie that could use the extra promotion.
If you think he needs anything to KEEP BEING FAMOUS? You're a moron..
yes. he has.
FYI - Road House (2024) is *not* a huge movie.
(They cancelled the theatre release and it is going straight onto Amazon Prime).
It was never scheduled for theatrical release, it was always a play to try to get subscribers to Amazon prime. It is also about as big as streaming movies get probably. It stars a massive Hollywood star and is a remake of a movie that is hugely known. It’s a big film for sure.
I haven’t seen any advertisements for it anywhere
@@FreefallSC what was the budget? That tells you if it is a big movie or not
@@Induna123 $85 million, it’s a big movie
@@FreefallSC Not one person I know gives a shit about that movie lmao.
Chandler is such an awkward dude. He's like a new single dad that just moved into town and wants to make some friends🤣
what?
What an oddly specific example
Found the single dad that just moved into town and wants to make new friends, he's also projecting for some reason.... 😂
He's just move into a new apartment building and wants to make friends with every person who lives in there "puts the trash out" Hey, I'm Michael. I've just moved in"
Chandler really has that "anxious but super friendly new dude at work" vibe
Very unfortunate. Michael Chandler may not be the best fighter in the world but he is near p4p when it comes to his entertainment value. Would still love to see Chandler vs Oliveira rematch if Charlie Olives looses to Almond Tsraukyan.
I find it absolutely hilarious Conor gaslighted Chandler into thinking he was getting a payday 😂 Chandler was literally brown nosing hard for it , was pretty sad 😂 dude could've fought twice by now
You know they have contractual agreements to the amount they get paid, unless you get ppv points as champ then it's just another regular payday 😂 you fucking casuals are ruining this sport
He probably could’ve fought 4-5 times by now honestly… he’d have made more than whatever Conor would pull
Remember when everyone was bashing McGregor, rightfully, and he was calling him out because he rezpected him so much? Brown. Nose.
@@markasmaclean7571 He would've been better off losing two in a row so Mcregor would think he was easy pickings. Instead he's been calling Mcgregor a coward, which contrary to popular belief makes Mcgregor do the opposite of what you want.
Why does that make you happy? Surely as an MMA fan it should make you sad at the waste...
Without watching the video yet... Yes, absolutely yes.
Just how irrelevant does Conor have to become for him to stop being a weekly topic on MMA channels. It’s like we’re still grasping at a Brock Lesnar return.
FACTS!!!
I know, it's exhausting. I'm grateful for all the new eyes Conor has brought to the sport, it's grown a lot because of him single handedly. But part of me misses the old days, when MMA was for MMA fans.
Not fighting for 3 years after being the biggest combat sports athlete ever makes you irrelevant. Hmmm ... I almost guarantee there are fighters who are WAY more inactive and rusty that you don't keep this same mindset with, you just have a primal desire to shit on Connor because he's successful 😅
@@nickphauxno fucking way you just said Conor is the biggest combat sports athlete ever 🤣
Seriously, its embarrassing. These kids need to go back to watching WWE if they want fake drama.
Chandler has not wasted his time. That man has been fighting & putting on entertaining wars for years! Years! This time off will serve him well.
I wanna see Mcgregor v Gaethje. Would be a rerun of Gaethje v Ferguson
Huge movie that went straight to streaming, give over lol
Dustin Poirier beat Dan Hooker during covid, then beat Conor McGregor 2x, lost to Oliveira, beat Chandler, lost to Gaethje
And now beat BSD
Even if he gets the Conor fight what would that really do for him? I don’t think Conor is the same draw that he was even 4 years ago and given current ufc contracts he probably wouldn’t get paid that much more
We found out that Cowboy was paid a meager $200k when he fought Conor. "Red panty night" was always a myth.
I’m sure the UFC wanted to put McGregor v Chandler on UFC300 (it’s a bigger deal than international fight week and they were struggling to find a headliner). I assume McGregor refused.
Ufc did him dirty by sticking him in tuf with conor when they knew conor was nowhere near ready to fight. Mike could have had two fights and be close to a title shot assuming he won.
Has anyone ever coached TUF with a fight lined up that fell through (not due to injuries)?
If he would have fought Dariush, he'd arguably be the BMF vs Dustin fight at 300 for next shot at lightweight.
YES. He 100% has. Its embarrassing and just plain sad.
Saving this video to my Watch Later since I'm at work right now, but to answer the question in the video title...
Yes
The longer they wait the more inflation kicks in
Leon vs Nate wasn't a main event
Imo the ufc owes chandler this fight and if he doesn't get it they shouldn't let Connor fight again until he does. I'm well aware that's not how it works but that's what I would like to see
I wonder if they would give tony to conor just to try to give conor a lightweight win before they do whatever money fight they have planned
One of the barriers to entry to boxing was tracking fighters and multiple belts, so having a single organization with a known roster was a big boost for the UFC. Now that they're trying to put out events constantly, they're constantly bringing in young talent for a fight or 2, never to be seen again. They're creating barriers to entry, all to make the brand stand tall over the fighters.
I think Chandler doesn't believe he will get a title shot, so he's angling legacy fights. Being the guy to "retire" McGregor.
"How is that even a question?!"😂😂
If they pulled some of the fight night main events and put them on PPV’s they’d sell a lot more. I think a lot of these PPV cards are really not meeting expectations
Love the content ❤
The real question is where does Kevin Lee fit into all this?
I met Michael chandler at UFC 298. He seemed like such a genuine, nice dude. Seems like he deserves this pay day and the glory that comes with ko’ing Conor
Could not give a single fuck about Conor at this point. I don’t think he’ll fight again. Dudes worth a lot of millions. No way he’s gonna potentially get injured and/or brain damage in order to make a couple more. And the UFC aren’t giving him a boxing payday.
Chandler has not thought this through.
"Worth a lots of millions" 😂😂

First. Love this channel
This amount of ads is criminal.
Ugh. I have never been more annoyed by a fight in my life.
If he ever gets the fight money, than no..........but seeing as how thats becoming less and less of a possibility with each day.
Obviously the answer is yes.
How is conor mcgregor even relevant anymore it's an actual joke. Bloke got gifted a fight to win the lightweight title and all these people carry on about him being "champ champ" he never fought anybody at lightweight before his title shot, just fought eddie who he beat for the title. He fought nate diaz at welterweight so if he lost he could say he didn't lose to a lightweight fighter so he could then get the gifted shot at the belt. It's an absolute joke. How does nobody see this? Now all he does is talk when there is a good fight and try take the light away from these other fighters. Mcgregor didn't do anything at lightweight and he should just go away and be quiet. Don't know how these people are still so high on megregor.
Could say the same about Poatan.
@martyfromnebraska1045 I'm not a big fan of either bloke but why bring up alex? I never mentioned his name? That's a bit weird.
The ufc wants to wait so that mcgregor gets old and when his contract is up he can’t transition as smooth to pfl super fights (possibly) or boxing fights such as the manny one that had been on the table forever. At least without them taking a piece as well 💯
When everyone in CZcams comments agrees…. You know it’s true.
If someone is under contract wit more then 1 fight left on their contract, How do they get paid more if they don’t get PPV points. If your contract says 250K a fight. Then you get paid that right ?
I love that he's not letting Conor go
1:22 this the greatest analysis
See you at the top is actually a cool catch phrase
Good thing Chandler has a mobile phone otherwise he couldn't leave his house.. might miss the call 😂😂😂...
As for Francis Ngannou, these guys forgot about Vadim Nemkov the Fedor protege. That will eventually be an amazing super fight for PFL/Bellator
At this point it’s a red santa sock night
Short answer, yes. Long answer, for sure.
Hilarious thumbnail
Hes been fighting like hes having a mid life crisis instead of trying to do the best he can. Hes actually fighting worse than he did in bellator. If he fought up to his potential he could have been champ now or at least have more wins than he does now. He basically threw that 3rd round away against Justin.
At this point alot of people barely remember why McGregor even is a star... The Mystic Mac days are looooong past and these days he is mostly known for getting in trouble for some reason or other. His rise was phenomenal, first double champ. Yet he defended neither of his titles, and he has lost more fights than he has won since as well.
I think McGregor is more irrelevant than most people assume he is. Longtime fans know he was good, 8 years ago... but now?
We all know a fighter is for the most part only as good as his/her last fight, and if people barely remember when last you fought all that star power diminishes even if that fight was an entertaining win, more so if it was a loss.
Chandler has wasted his time.
And the UFC keeps wasting the star potential of many fighters... Tom Aspinall is a potential star, yet the division is being held up by two guys that are both retiring after a fight that should already have happened and is mostly past its sell by date.
Came here to answer your question: Yes.
“I’m not here for a long time”
Welp…
By the time he realizes it’ll be 2025. Getting older counting the money he isn’t making
Fans have been robbed of 2 years of excitement MC fights it’s sad
18:27 I think a lot of this has to do with the business model. They're so focused on outside investment that they have to be hyper focused on stock price, so it's all about growth over profitability.
Short answer: yes. Long answer: absolutely.
Conor sat out and never fought Tony Ferguson when the belt needed to be unified. Not surprised he's sitting out against Chandler.
He was given an entire Season of the ultimate fighter to build up the fight! He spent the entire season of TUF bitching about Brad Katona behind his back, WHO WAS ON HIS TEAM AND ASKED HIM FOR HELP!
And now he's practically begging Conor to even acknowledge him.
Guess who fumbled the 💰
Personally with how active Chandler was I think he could've made what he thinks he'll make in this one fight in the fights he could've fought by now
He might’ve nearly made the same from fighting the fights on his contract but at the expense of millions more brain cells
Everyone in the world knows he's not going to fight McGregor except Chandler himself.
What if they have contracts signed already with mcgregor and chandler for 300? Then they announce 300 a week or two before. A bunch of the top selling fights were all very short notice
Me when I see the name of this video: yes.
I think this time off let him and his brain heal up after the wars he went through. Not saying it was worth it but it’s a bonus for the guy
He got played 😂
"Stars" in MMA have ruined the sport for me personally. Coverage just isnt like it used to be
Leon vs Nate wasn’t the main event. It wasn’t even the co main
I would've loved to see more Chandler fights, but I also am fine with him waiting for Mcgregor. The man had an entire career in Bellator before coming to the UFC. He has spoken before that he has deals/investments outside fighting that make him a good bit without having to fight.
I think he's just someone who is on the back half of his career now at 37 going on 38, and just wants to have fights that interest him the most.
I think they just want to bring MC down to CMs level, time off wise to try and give his comeback momentum if CM wins
Belts are feeling meaningless compared to everyone wanting the big money fight vs fighters who aren't at the top or are retired😢 ......every champion now only want the belt so they can force the UFC to give them those fights instead of making the divisions and champions mean something or be the money fight😢😅
Yep
The weirdest thing is that he doesn’t get more money for the McGregor fight.
UFC hasn’t done any Justice for Mike Chandler. Stepped in as company guy & over a year now nothing. Not even a date with Conor.
That Chandler Raw Vignette/Promo whatever the hell you wanna call it was SOOO CRINGE!
I seriously hope with the two companies merging under TKO we see less & less of that garbage.
It makes The UFC seem so bush league.
Dana can't be liking this.. It has to be something out of his control.
USADA was Hendrix’s downfall.
Cmon man he was playing to the arena while at the same putting pressure on that juice boiii. Don’t slam him for his patience.
I’m never this early
Calling out McGregor in general is a complete waste of time you know how many fighters called him out over the years and none of them actually fought him I think the only one was Diaz and that’s cause RDA got injured
Lets be honest, he should've fought sooner, got a win, called him out on the mic.
Huge movie ? Shit ain’t even in theaters 😂
It is 100% yes. He might still try and fight Connor when Connors in a fucking urn
I’m not a huge Chandler fan, ofc i love his fights but I don’t like watch most interviews with him and stuff like that. But i feel actually bad for the guy that it has taken this long
Who really thought Conor has the ⚽️🏀 to fight Iron Mike?
Cowboy only made 200k for the Conor fight. Eddie Alvarez took the same amount of money on his contract for the Conor fight. Michael chandler being the company man he is will take whatever the ufc gives him. UFC should compensate him more for the wait but not guaranteed
Yeah we already knew when chandler came to the ufc he wasn’t gonna be here for a long time so it’s incredibly unfair that now he could’ve had at least 2 fights by now but he’s stuck waiting for mc chicken
Shouldve kept fighting. Ild say if hes interested we can do it but i cant wait for you.
Roadhouse promotes the UFC. Part of it was shot during a card.
It's because Connor is on his last fight of his contract and wants to fight Manny. Which could happen because Manny owes paradigm like 8ms which would be taken from his fight purse. Mac and chandler should of been the big reveal for 300 though!
Cowboy said he didn't get paid any different than any other fight when he fought McGregor. Cause he was in a contract for so many fights. I'm sure it depended on the fight. Now if it's someone that gets ppv points then yes it's red panty night.
I watch MMAonpoint pretty much everyday! U guys do great and Chandler is getting played while Conor laughs in his castle of rich. Chandlers prime door is closing
