As an American living on the East Coast, I would love a card in the middle of the day. I usually pass out before the main event, I can’t imagine how bad it for Europeans
Every card main fight starts at 4-5am 90% of the time , I like early cards fir a change this is a liberty
Watched ufc 300 live with a friend, main event was at 7:30. I managed to stay awake but was knackered after, he was long asleep but i woke him up. Card started at 1:00am. I live in France
Yeah I would buy so many more cards if they started 8 pm Saturday or sooner
Its honestly shit asf having to stay up to 5am to watch main events 😅
My favorite card to watch was UFC Singapore. 5 am start with an Irish coffee and a little wake and bake? Beautiful way to start my Saturday
You know who has the best time zone for UFC? Us Australians. We wake up at 8-10 Sunday morning and tune in. Finishes about 5pm-ish.
Oh god that sounds amazing
A lot of time to wind down for the night too.. How much do PPVs cost there?
Same here in Japan, it’s awesome 😅
I think we have it good in the west coast (US) too, main card at 7pm, perfect time to start drinking 😃
Singapore
Such a slap in the face to British fans. "Fine, we'll come over there, but good luck actually watching it"
Also hearing that the bar at the arena will NOT be selling by alcohol after 3am, meaning you will be AT THE EVENT but unable to buy a drink for the BEST part of the card 😳
@@mattkershaw2249a minor issue. You don’t need to drink to enjoy an event. Unless you’re an alcoholic then that’s on you.
@@carwynthomas5836an alcoholic is a reach and a half, if you've payed 500 quid to 5 grand for seats you are well in your right to want to make an event of it and drink, doesn't make you an alcoholic
@@InterYamah if not being able to drink at the event is someone's main concern I'm sorry but that says more about the individual than the event. like when people cry about dry weddings...sorry but if you cant enjoy something without alcohol then that's on you.
As an American in the Midwest, every single fan I know complains about how late the fights go. Bump them up to the afternoon. We'd love afternoon/early evening fights. The main card would still air after dinner Saturday night, yet still make sense for European audiences
Honestly I'm here in Chicago and I wish the main cards started at 7pm instead of 9
Well the west coast is the best coast and we enjoy the time starting at 6 here. We wake up for the stock market to open, you guys have to stay up for the fights lol
A main card starting 2 hours after I've had pizza and beer is a fucking problem
Oh please no. I move to Bangkok so that would be like 3 am for me
As a Brazilian I simply stopped watching the events live. Staying up until 2am for the main fight makes absolutely no sense at all for a normal adult.
As an American, 10pm is too late for the start of main cards. I’m BEAT by the time the main event walks out. Then if I’m at a buddies house I still gotta drive home and woof… I feel bad for you UK folks
"Two ninety nine", PS1, anyone?
Your old ass 💀
Im danish and generally the early prelims start at midnight when there's a PPV 😭
I feel like If they did like an 8pm EST main card it would overall just be better around the world? BUT then it’s 5PM Western Time and that’s pretty early for Vegas… maybe there’s no solution lol
@@JoshAndMurph Im alright with the late start times although it fucks up my schedule, it is an american company with an american base after all. But it's kinda disappointing when they don't even let us have a decent scheduling on EU cards.
Especially cause UK fans will be absolutely piss drunk when the clock strikes midnight, they don't know how to hold back 😂
UFC 284 in Perth, doors opened at 6am local time. Seems like the ufc only bends to the Saudi Oil lords
The Saudi event ain’t even happened yet
There was a UFC event in Perth?
@crusty6148 they've gone to UAE for years bro... that's what he meant cause all those cards start local time for them
@@thenedsmmachannel8970 UAE and Saudi are two different places lol
@@crusty6148 when did he say Saudi Arabia... he clearly mentioned the oil lords over there who are saudis and thats true lol he said nothing wrong you clearly can't read
Nothing kills my enthusiasm for UFC more than the Sunday/Monday exhaustion I feel after staying up for a PPV.
Guys, as an American, I hate this time slot for everyone. I want to go to bed at a reasonable time, and 2 AM isn’t a reasonable time to go to bed. I would love it if they put the card on in the afternoon.
going to bed at 2am is a pipe dream for UK fans. The prelims havent even STARTED at 2am here.
Try going to sleep at 7, 8 am as we do here in Europe. 😂😂😂
3am.... brits gonna be mc hammered at that show
❄️
*sniff* and chips will keep em lively...
Alchohol to stop seling at 3 am, 3 hours before the main event actually happens that's a fucking joke
.
@@McYeroc It really is dumb af and it's going to mess up the fighters body clock that have a title fight at 5am...5am ffs wtf were they thinking...
I would actually enjoy an afternoon card. The Abu Dhabi cards are always fun for me because I can watch them as im doing stuff around the house or have a few buddies over for some drinks and food before going to do something that night. I feel the UK fans deserve a reasonable time to come watch it live as well. Maybe we should petition to DFW ourselves? Lol
Youre a hardcore. Bars wont buy it for the afternoon in the US. Nobody shows up.
@@jacksdad734 that’s a good point. I didn’t think of that part. Well shit that’s no fun lol
The bars pay astronomical amounts for fights based on their seating capacity as determined by the local fire marshall. They bank on each fan spending about $65 bucks to break even.
I watch every numbered card at 3am. Now it's in my country and i still have to watch at 3am lol.
Tradition lol
6:03 my favorite card I ever watched was UFC Singapore where the prelims started at 5 am. I got to wake up early, go for a little walk, make an Irish coffee, and enjoy the fights.
I hate having to wait til the evening
Watching UFC 300 with my brothers and father (all of them casuals) they arrived at 4pm when I said the fights started. By the time it was 8pm my dad was asking “the fights are almost over right, we have an hour drive to get home” I looked at him and replied “sorry dad, fights aren’t even half over.” We proceeded to brew a pot of coffee.
Sounds real fun, let's have more coffee.
I was there for UFC 204 and they did the exact same thing. The sun was starting to come up as we left the arena. Insane.
It may also cater for the US prime time because they will pay $80 ppv whilst UK will only pay £20ppv so not only are there more americans watching, they also pay more
I get that it’s a business first, a sport 2nd, they really should have compromised on the timings, maybe put the main card on at 12am local time, and prelims start at 9pm, it’s a big difference, every PPV event, the last hour is a slog when it’s at 5am
Wait… y’all are paying? 😂
Americans paying 4× the price for the same product is halarious.
@@McYeroc
Pft I'm paying an Internet bill bro
If it was $20 that might be a different story. $80? Foh
Do they often have fights where the audience in the arena have to wait to 6am for the main event?
No
Gustafsson vs Rumble was 3am, Fabricio vs Stipe was 3am. There's been a few others too but I can't think of them.
Sucks when you out of arena and bars are closed in the morning
@@robot9071 atleast you can go and have a nice breakfast somewhere!
@@robot9071 no one cares
This is so stupid and against their usual form. They stick on a PPV in Saudi at local time, why is this different?
Because the sheikh pays them shitloads of money to do so, they have, because they dont have to care about such petty things such as human rights or the coming environmental collapse
Cause the Saudis pay them. Australia, UK, and Brazil get US local time. I know the Brazilian crowd got alot of shit for the Hill vs Glover card but was like 3am for them, they were just trying to get home
Most cities subsidize (pay for) the UFC events, but the Arabs must pay a lot more to be able to get any demands they want met.
Yeah the Saudis pay the difference for it not making what the ppv would’ve made
@@drag0.. Bingo. I don't agree with it, but this is very clearly an issue of the US doing more ppv buys during the evenings than the afternoons.
UK Fan here, I said I would go to next UK event as never been before, this sucks, I am not going and Il be in bed before 12
Same
Cool.
This is why I don't buy the fights. I'm asleep by the time they are happening!
It's hard to watch the prelims as it is over at 2.am
There’s genuinely nothing more satisfying than waking up at 8am on Saturday and being able throw on some prelims while you make breakfast and shower and stuff!
Fights during the day are kinda weak . I'm on the west coast so its perfect . Starts at 3-4:00 pm ends at 10pm
Showering and making breakfast would make me feel as if I weren’t really watching it though, like I just left the TB audio playing whilst I’m actually busy
I’m from the Midwest USA. Watching UFC 280 in the middle of the day at a roof top bar is one of my best UFC memories. It’s nice to have a fight card earlier in the day once in a while. Makes things interesting. They should change this card to 2130 local time for the Brits
In Australia the usual PPV cards will start at lunchtime on a Sunday. It’s honestly the best time-slot and it finishes at around 4pm. Now living in North America, I’m not a fan of the fights being on in the evening
They're right about having the backing of the British people. Aspinal has huge potential as a star but this kind of business practice doesn't help him in the slightest. No casuals in the UK will get a glimpse of this event. If this was at 11pm it could he shown in pubs across the country which would do wonders for all the fighters on the card and the ufc in general. Do they really want to expand the business or not
They only want to expand to the middel east, since they have the big money
I’m west coast of the U.S. and I work Saturdays. 3-11pm. I get to work and start the stream. It usually wraps up about 45 minutes before I go home. I love it.
F1 is all over the place. As a GMT viewer i watch races at 5am and i watch races at 8pm. This 3am main card is bullshit.
Can you imagine if Bob Arum or De Lahoya put on a boxing PPV in europe at 11pm-6am before UFC ever did? Dana would cut through them for a short cut about how dumb to have fights on in a hungry market at dumb o clock. I was at the last one in UK when they did this and the amount of people drunk in the bathrooms talking nonsense not watching fights (because you couldnt smoke outside) bathrooms were like small pubs and no joke there were loads of people passed out by the main card.
Fuck sake, what's the point
"it ends at 2 am thats sooooo late"
every fucking event has the prelims at 1am here fkin hell
I remember the last time in London in my time zone mst the main card started at 4:00pm I think and that was actually kinda nice. I think the earlier times can be nice
Yeah I actually really liked the start time for the last London card
If they get Aspinall-Edwards-MVP-Allen-Paddy main card it's a stacked event
Bizarre they've not gone for an attendance record for 304. If you can do that anywhere, it's the country that gets 100000 people for Boxing at Wembley. Cardiff or Tottenham could easily hold those events, especially with 2 British champs on the card. Edwards might not get that on his own, but with Aspinall too, easy. Pimblett and McCann and it's an instant sell out.
The fight times are fucking ridiculous, how am I living in the UK and going to be watching UFC Manchester at the same time as any other event in the USA, insane.
Early cards are my absolute favorite. Great excuse to get hammered at noon and still have enough energy to watch a basketball game or something.
times in Western Australia are pretty bad, main cards start around 9/10 am. I love the fight night in singapore that finished around 11 pm on saturday night. was such a different feel
😂 bad you must be joking or just really not a morning person. That actually sounds awesome
@@drag0.. definitely a morning person but a sunday morning for ufc isn't a good feel. Usually have family lunch and people popping over for a visit. 300 was a night mare to watch
Miss the Spike TV PPVs, thats what got me started when i was 14 years old. Time slots were dope, and yes, tape delay made it so you had to avoid spoilers on social media, but still, it was nice when a network had some authority over these outrageous start times.
3am is absurd, no matter how you slice it.
No one is to be on top form.
The live crowd will hate it - the taxis will hate it - there will be no public transport. People will be getting back to their hotels at 6am, and they'll have to vacate at 11am or they'll be penalsed.
People will struggle to stay awake till then.
Anyone having a UFC party/social night will struggle to keep people entertained till 3am.
There's a good chance that the live crowd will be hammered by 3am - leading to a hostile, partisan crowd
Everyone loses except for US West Coast PPV viewers.
It's dumb, dumb and dumber
This could backfire on the UFC organisation.
Even an 11pm - 1am main event schedule would make much more sense.
It sets a ridiculous precedent.
In Melbourne & Sydney, we get the UFC PPV events on Sunday morning... the main card starts around noon and the Main Event starts around 3PM.
It is awesome!
Especially if a public holiday lines up on the Monday.
Can have a few extra beers 😂
I love being in Asia. 9am Sunday❤ breakfast, coffee, UFC
Cards in the middle of the day are awesome. Lunch time with the boys watching a sporting event is always a good experience. I’ve never liked how late UFC ppv are. I’d be so mad if I was fighting on the Manchester card 😂
I'm so glad this conversation is being had. The UFC need to acknowledge and respect their international fan base and fighters.
I will never forget the Paris card. Not the fights or the performances but the crowd. It was absolutely incredible to watch
Watching from the West Coast, having cards wrap up around 10ish pm means i still have an evening. I would gladly take an afternoon card so that my East Coast buds can also have an evening. Some of those end times are absolutely nuts.
Getting adjusted to NFL brunch was kinda silly when I first moved, but I appreciate it now. More early cards!
O2 in London has a strict 11pm curfew Monday to Saturday 10:30pm on Sundayd
I'm so gutted. This was hopefully meant be me and my brother's first time going to an event after watching UFC for 6 years
I have always said that the main card should start at 7 pm local time
When i saw this i assumed it meant 6am start time for US audiences and the complaints made no sense.. Like yeah, time zones exist.. But then i realised what they meant. If there was a way beyond streaming every single event as a means to boycott the UFC while still enjoying the atheletes id do it. They make EA look like a reputable trustworthy brand.
They have a tv deal with ESPN and they probably need it to work for programming on that channel
The 5am finish basically means that everything will be closed and the trains probably won't have even started. If you're going you have to stay and get a hotel for Sunday unless you live in Manchester
I’m from the UK and during the last UFC London card it was on mid afternoon PST. I was in Seattle and loved watching the card at that time! I often regret watching a main card here as I waste my Sunday because I’m up watching a main card until 6am.
People will quickly forget.
Everyone seemed to forget how late glovers final fight was.
Then moaned at the fans for not being there till the end
How would the PPV starting earlier for the Us be less harmful for streams than 3am in the uk like usual?
I actually like those day time events. We watch the other sports during the day, so UFC come on. Give UK their prime time.
As someone in the east coast I HATE the 10pm start time. When I was younger I could deal with it and still didn't like it. Now being a parent and older those cards are rough to watch. I rarely watch them live for this exact reason
i've been a fan of ufc since i was in short pants, i actually remember ufc 1 but i've never been to an event. i decided when i heard they were coming to my home town, with one of my current fav fighters (Aspinall) i'd treat myself, i have 2 kids, a wife, a cat and a dog so i dont splurge much on myself but this felt different, this felt right when i heard my favourite show was coming to town and i was in a position after all these years to finally see THE ufc LIVE. i was so pumped. i still want to go but this just feels like a bit of a slap in the nuts, like i'm seen as some kinda second class fan. i love martial arts and combat sports, they are important to me and mma and the ufc are, to me, the epitome. going to this event is special to me. but now it feels tarnished.
"Prime Time" for the US is 8pm EST. Yet UFC main cards don't start until midnight (at least). Why?
They don't start the Super Bowl late at night, they don't start the NBA Finals late at night. Or the Stanley Cup Finals, or the World Series, or anything... except for boxing, in Vegas.
I don't know why the UFC continues to copy boxing's 10-point scoring system and late night main events. I think most people would prefer a normal time. Especially when the local audience is asked to stay up for a main event at 5am. It's ridiculous.
My least favorite thing about ufc PPVs is that I have to stay up until 1 am. I usually go to sleep around 8-9pm. I love early cards. UFC is blowing it by doing this to the UK and to me.
Here in New Zealand the UfC ppvs start 3/4pm on a Sunday. It’s fantastic
When I lived in Korea and the cards were generally at around 10 or 11am local time it was perfect. I got to have a killer breakfast/brunch at my favorite bar broadcasting the ppv, had drinks during the fights, and then took a nap before going out for the evening. The ones stateside (US) are fine, but I just do them at home mostly since it's kinda a pain in the ass staying out at the bars here and Dana didn't catch all of us in his sweeping pirate hunt. :P
East Coast here. HATE how late these fights go as it is. Can’t imagine starting at 3AM. That’s insane. My favorite ppv was last time they went to the O2. Started at 5pm East Coast. Phenomenal experience
Belal Vs Leon at 5 am.
Wow.
As an american on central time and one that lived in the uk for 5 years. Cater to the local time. As much as i love staying up till 1am to watch fights i dont. Crowds can make an event. I cant imagine a lively crowd when everyones either pulling an all nighter or waking super early. The people that are going to watch are going to watch.
$10 million gate, 500,000PPV @ $70 (90% US purchasers). You do the math
As an American from the west coast, times for cards have never been an issue for me. I can’t imagine the pain yall are in with these times. I know the fighters also cant be happy for this
Got a second sense no need for a late notification 😂😂
It's not just England either. As a non-English European, I never really had the opportunity to catch the live broadcasts until I went on exchange in the US a few years back. It really surprised me just how much watching the live broadcasts added to the experience and it really bothers me that European-friendly time slots are so few and far between.
They gain almost nothing from Europeans watching it live. Wr aren't buying PPVs, they have deals here with broadcasting networks which we subscribe to regardless of when we watch the fights. It would be almost pure charity to cater to us.
I just moved from the west coast to the east coast. I can’t do this 2am main event stuff man. I’ve been settling for either staying off socials and watching the fights Sunday morning or if I’m not too invested in the fights I’m just skipping them and catching up on socials. I can’t imagine European fans staying up all night for fights.
...I can only speak for myself, but I'm a dad now...we need a similar time slot as the old sports, like basketball and football...baseball's time is not ideal either (it's for deadbeat dads who aint got shitte to do the next day)...we need to go to bed early!...lol...the kids wake up early and wanna eat and shitte, we gotta be ready, that's all I'm sayin...I know the partyin, single, young adults are the main demographic now (that's when we got in), but some of us are grandfathered in through the Spike days...lol...we're gettin old, boys!!!...WOOOOOOOOO!!!...I cant "Just Bleed" anymore, my blood pressure is outta control!...lol...
Australian here. UFC from 9am Sunday morning until late afternoon. It's great.
It’s pretty disrespectful, to the athletes and fans. Show some curiosity to the people who wait to have a card one maybe twice ( very rare) a year and you’ll be going home when ya Nans on her way to get the Sunday shopping
I lived in Japan for a while and got to enjoy a bunch of UFC cards while enjoying lunch and it was great. Would love the occasional afternoon card!
I was at UFC 204(Bisping v Henderson) in the nosebleeds and this is nonsense, the crowd was insanely hyped and energetic.
It also becomes viable for TNT in the UK to sell it as a ppv (not that anyone wants that obvs) if they run it on GMT. I'm quite keen to try and go regardless of the stupid timeslot but it sucks.
In Australia, we already get "normal" cards at 2pm on a Sunday and it's great. I'm sure enough American viewers would be happy to watch in the afternoon. Still, I do understand not wanting to change the time too often because that can be confusing and people forget (and then that sucks for their mates if they were gonna share the PPV), etc.
Being a UK fan I often stay up to watch the US events. Being a night owl is not for everyone, can't help but think some of the crowd will be dozing off.
I live on the east coast of the U.S and I fuckin love when the UFC is in a different country so I can watch the fights at 3pm instead of them ending at 2am
UFC is missing an opportunity with this. US fans generally complain about how late the main events start on ET & this would be a chance to see how moving the car up a couple of hours would work. Although I think 1 thing that is the availability of be public transport as with the card starting that late people can get the last trains into Manchester & it will finish so late that the first trains of Sunday morning will have started, a hybrid start time may have resulted in it finishing in the early hours BST and there being no trains home.
I wonder if they will sell out the stadium as public transport doesn’t stay open at those times so everyone attending will need to drive or have a hotel booked
Because they hate their fans apparently with the price gouging, bad timing, not making the fights that make sense, letting Jon hold onto a belt he will never defend while Tom rots away. The UFC management are beyond out of touch.
I am from Sydney Australia. The normal main card start time here is midday Sunday and it’s awesome! Surely the UFC can come up with a special time slot so that both English and American fans fans can get the full experience
As an American I’d love to have an early day event. Finish around like 9 pm. It would feel like Sunday football. It’s kinda upsetting
They start Sunday between 6-9am in Sydney main card is usually midday
I remember a tape delayed UFC show years back showed the main events results during an ad before the main event was aired. That was a facepalm moment for sure.
In Australia we have the best time, main card starts usually about 11am or 12pm, so its a Sunday BBQ event and we all get together and make a day of it
The time of the card is horrific but do you know what’s worse? They are most likely going to have Edwards vs Belal 2 and Aspinall vs Blaydes 2 as the two main fights on the card. These fights are not bad by any stretch of the imagination but they are when you consider the fact that they are catering towards US audiences who will most likely look at those names and go na I’ll watch the highlights or I will stream it illegally. I’d have no issue paying good money to go watch those fights in England if the time zone was normal for English people. However now ima just skip going and watch it in the comfort of my home like I normally do
I am on central standard time. I can never stay up for the main event and sometimes the comain. Main card usually starts a few hours too late in my opinion. I’d love to see them back this up about 4-5hr. I think they’re just so worried about the west coast? It’s really weird. I guarentee anyone who is buying the PPV will make afternoon/early even work! Change this and make it right for the Manchester attendees Dana!
As a brit living in Canada, this is absolutely fucking bizarre that they're doing it at US prime time - I mean from my veiwing perspective it works sweet being in the better time zone for it, but it's still dumb as hell
The perfect timezones to watch UFC events live are in...the middle of the Pacific ocean. Genius, Dana
Bruh the come down when walking out of the arena and the sun is rising because it'll be like 6-7am on a sunday morning in the UK will be awful 🤣
Guys: 500,000 x 80 = 40,000,000
Gate would be MAX 10,000,000. The math is very clear on this one unfortunately for the folks watching in person.
I live in the midwest and I always fall asleep before the co main. The ppv should be hours earlier.
Being from Eastern Europe it's even harder for me to just to stay awake for the fights. I can't imaging actually fighting at 5-6am
In Aus all the PPVs normally start at 11/12:30pm and it's rad. You get to go the pub for lunch and watch a PPV
"Oh fuck, I can't believe you've done this"
As a croatian i think the ufc is counting on us from europe will turn in no matter what time because we watch from 3 am till 7 am on every event
I stayed up to watch 300. Went to bed at 7am and didn’t wake up until 6pm Sunday afternoon. Literally slept all day and wasted my Sunday.
Ufc could be bigger than boxing in the U.K. but no casual is going to stay up to watch it noway
I always have to wake up at 4AM on Sunday to watch UFC. We also work on Sundays here, but no complaints. UFC is so damn good it's worth it.
The reason is more than likely last time local time was done sales where not that good so as priority IS MONEY they will now place it at a time the market is optimum for PPV sales
As someone living in California I couldn’t be happier with the times
I live EST, regularly fall asleep before the main events. Yet another reason why I don’t pay for the fights.
As a west coast fan we have it so good, absolutely wouldn’t mind noon/mid afternoon cards though. Especially if it allowed fans all over to get good card times as well
As an American I have 0 interest in the UK Fighters, wish the UFC would change the time so you guys can actually enjoy it, plus them crowds are wild so the UK deserves it
