    This time around, we take a look at the "UPi" (UPerfect Raspberry Pi) Touchscreen Monitor and at the same time get set up with our own Pi. This tutorial covers installing and configuring OS for not only the RPi 3 B+ but RPi models from 2 - 4. We also take a look at how to install a handy, full virtual keyboard to type with the touch screen, sort of how you'd do it on a tablet, but with more capabilities.
    This really cool mini Monitor not only can be used with a Pi as a desktop PC but as a 3D Printer progress display, industrial assistant display, or even as a fairly sizeable screen for operating a cinematic drone!
    Those mentioned are just a few ways to use this Monitor, there are heaps more uses out there.

    After looking at the cost of these monitors, I came to the conclusion that it would be cheaper to buy an ordinary large monitor.

    Do you have any experience with using monitors like this that are on pretty much 24/7? I'd like to do a homebrew alarm clock/weather radio that displays the real-time weather radar, but wouldn't want to burn the thing out by keeping it on at all times.

    • @MaxImagination
      @MaxImagination  Před rokem +1

      Hi, Jared. I don't have that much experience on dealing with monitors/displays on hand. Though, from what I've seen is that there shouldn't be a problem with low power consumption monitors being left turned on around the clock. With larger displays that are typically quite bright, those might just need a form of cooling, from a fan or something.
      Cheers,
      Max

    I would like to see your new UPI monitor and software have the voice command like my Android phone! Then you typically not even have to use the keyboard. Can it be done?

    • @MaxImagination
      @MaxImagination  Před 2 lety

      Hi, thanks for watching.
      With the right Linux voice command add-on, it may be possible, sort of like an Alexa.

    • @MaxImagination
      @MaxImagination  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, you may hook up a regular pc monitor via HDMI/VGA to your Pi.
