I have nothing against the actual movement itself. The radical misandry is what scares me personally.
And despite my Herbert West profile picture. I'm not scared of misandry because I have cahones. I have XX chromosomes.

That to me does not make anything okay. Its a nasty film directed at portraying a demographic negatively. If a film today said their agenda was to show all black people as evil and nasty, that film would be banned from release. Its only because feminists play the "victim" all the time, people think they are allowed to say whatever they want. Personally, I don't see how that is at all an acceptable excuse. If your point is to be preachy, pandering, filled with hate towards men and not actually making a good and compelling story? Well you played yourself congratulations.
I hope this film bombs just to set an example. If audiences hated Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, MIB: International and most recently Charlie's Angels well we don't like it and it isn't about men being sexist, you're just being annoying with your message and making men and women look horrible in these films. Oh and your story is crap.

The problem isn't the agenda, it's that the people making these crap-heaps focus more on pushing that agenda with strawmen fallacies rather than ACTUALLY CREATING A QUALITY PRODUCT.

If I want a Christmas- themed horror film, I'll stick with 'Krampus.'
    1. That is actually a GOOD movie.
    2. It's an original concept rather than a remake twisted to push an ultra feminist view.
    3. It actually DOES portray women as strong and empowered without getting all over the top and preachy about it. The scene when Aunt Linda goes all "Mama Bear" on the evil toys in the attic with an icicle and an axe was, I'd say, a great example of that; Even though she was clearly terrified of what she was facing, the love she had for her family (Even those she had argued with earlier) gave her the strength and courage to fight off those monsters and save her loved ones. I'd say THAT's pretty inspirational and empowering. Great Aunt Dorothy then shotgunning the evil toys later was pretty cool too.

Something like that anyway, obviously Billy was targeting Jess for a reason which maybe can be explained in my sequal and now maybe he sets his sites on Jess's daughter, I mean idk, I am no writer, but I have been hoping for years for some kind of sequal that answers all our questions from the first one

Even the people who get pandered to are sick of being pandered to now. That's how bad it's gotten. Most women are sick of feminists calling men and other women who don't agree with them sexists. There are gay people who want equal treatment and not special treatment and are sick of certain people calling people who won't give them special treatment homophobes. There are probably plenty of black people who hate the more extreme types who see racism everywhere and so on. Like you say political correctness is the new in thing so they're milking that for all its worth. And its weird how the makers of failed feminist films ignore the success of series with female leads that both men and women like just so they can call them sexist for not liking THEIR films and THEIR female characters. In their heads it's easier to convince themselves people who hate their films hate women than admit they made a bad film. Them using the fact their films star women to call people misogynists for disliking the film for reasons that have nothing to do with them starring women is the real sexism.

They don’t have to look that far back really. The movie Death Proof did it years before this movie.

I walked out on this movie. How in the heck did it get a theatrical release?

This version makes the 2006 version look like the shining and I always kinda liked the first remake for similar reasons you did and for how it's almost so bad it's good.

Great review! We recently covered all 3 on our podcast yesterday. It's nice to see other's perspectives on this film. I personally prefer the original to the remakes. The '74 version I think contained an even balance of psychological horror and gore. The fact that you never see Billy's face, with the exception of his eyes, and only hear his voice and the insanity within it gives more of an unsettling feeling whereas the '06 remake was just more gore and the '19 remake was simply just the filmmakers trying to capitalize on the original whilst promoting an agenda by slapping the name Black Christmas on the film.
