The time has come. Cell phone usage in movie theaters has always (and probably will always) be a major annoyance for movie fans. As time goes on, and as technology addiction grows, the problem seems to get worse. Here are some very blunt, straight-to-the-point, and anger-fueled words to vent on the issue as well as hopefully open the eyes of those that continuously botch the movie-going experience.

But poor O Susan is going to be enraged by swear because "tHiNk oF ThE cHiLdRen!!!! REEEEE!" then they're going to demand the owner and reprimand him for showing such vulgarity to little Timmy and little Julie. And besides, why should she listen to some Millenial about what not to do. She's a single mom, she has two kids, she has a right to do whatever she wants or she's nEvEr cOmInG bAcK!
      (Hope my joke went through)
But if that were to happen though, then the movie would be ten times better before it played. 😆

The first time I saw the new IT movie, there was a group of about 3 or 4 girls sitting behind me, my brother, and one of my friends. They were already yapping and texting extremely loud before the movie even started. Now I wasn’t super bothered by this as it was only the pre show/previews. I thought “Well its an ear bleeding level of annoying right now, but they’ll stop when the actual movie starts for sure!” ...
... And then the movie started, and for the first half, THEY WOULD NOT. STOP. TALKING. It was even toned down from earlier. And to top it off, they thought it was ok to pull out their phones(at 100% brightness might I add) and take pictures on Snapchat, WITH THE FLASH ON! FUCKING SERIOUSLY?! It was so bad that by the time they ruined the projector scene for me, I had to get the manager who PROMPTLY told them to stop talking. And you know what else is ridiculous? My brother told me that he overheard one of the girls outside the theatre saying “Oh my god, that’s like, the fourth time that’s happened to me!”, like they’d eventually take the fucking hint!
I know this video was mainly aimed at people who use their phones, but it goes without saying regardless: If you do your absolute best to ruin the movie cinematic experience for people in the theatre, be it through phones, talking, kicking seats etc. then FUCK. YOU!

I can relate to this so well. I hate sitting close to the front, but now I’ve kinda just accepted the fact that I pretty much have to now to avoid this. I’m a timid person, and No matter how polite I am, I deal with people yelling and making a scene if I very nicely tell them that their phone is right in my eye. It’s so frustrating to put up with paying so much for concessions and tickets to have idiots ruin it or to make excuses like they can do what they want because they paid for a ticket or try to make some lame excuse like racism about it. Rudeness and courtesy are basic human actions across the board that transcend race/religion/age, and deep down everyone knows the difference. Why pay $15 for a ticket just to screw up everyone’s night? You could’ve stayed home, ordered pizzas, and scrolled through your timelines to your heart’s content without ruining everyone else’s night. Yes, even opening your phone a few seconds is VERY unnerving and distracting. The world will still be there and be just fine two hours later. Keep your phones off, please and thank you.

As far as I'm concerned, I have never had to endure any of the horror stories that you discussed. However, what's probably as annoying as cell-phone usage is people talking during the film.
I've had to endure this quite a bit recently, especially when I saw Infinity War last night with my dad, who had yet to see it. I happened to be sitting next to someone who spent most of the picture talking to the person next to him, and making a bunch of sounds with his mouth, which was quite distracting. My advice to those who do it is this: Be quiet, be patient, and wait till the film's over, then talk with your buds.

I remember one time I went to go see Oculus and i was excited to see this. The trailer looked good especially when you see the girl that eats the lightbulb, omg that looked horrifying but I was excited. Anyway, we are at the theater with my happy face on, and all of sudden you have a group of punk teenagers coming in loud as ever and they sat a couple rows in front of us. 10 mins goes by, a intense scene is about to happen, I'm at the edge of my seat, and one of the punk teenager girls phone rings and she answers it! I was so flipping pissed off I was about to report it to workers but somebody beat me to it. They still werent quiet through the movie or maybe only half but it waa extremely annoying and frustrating. I never had much experience with a person next to me on their phone but I know how annoying it can be. It dont make sense you buy tickets to a movie just to play on your phone? Unless you got an emergency like Cody said, keep your phone in your pocket or keep your ass at home!!!!

Full agree bro, I put mine on silent and I set it on my lap face down the reason I do this is because I have children and if I got a call saying I need to go I want to make sure I get it but if I ever do have to check my phone in the theater I only raise it up a little bit off of my leg so that the glare does not get into other people's way and I look at it basically upside down and then if I have to take a call or whatever they're is something wrong I step my ass outside

Been a subscriber for awhile now so I don’t know how I never saw this but 1000% in agreement. Chris stuckmann, who is another movie reviewer was saying maybe having all these movies coming to steaming would keep the assholes at home and the respectful movie goers still going to the theater. It’s optimistic but an interesting idea.

I remember when I went to see The Dark Knight Rises and at the part where Miranda Tate is revealed to be Talia Al Ghul there were these kids sitting behind me saying "Talia. It's Talia." I already knew it was Talia when she said "But he's not the child of Ra's al Ghul. I am." so it was annoying to hear kids saying what I already knew.

The only time I go to the movies is with my parents since I’m only 15 and I can’t drive yet, and it’s the most annoying thing with my mom. I always have to sit next to her during a movie and she keeps her brightness all the way up and she also checks her phone often. I always tell her to turn the brightness down because it’s very inconsiderate to other people but she’s way too stubborn about it. One time I was so into this movie during this one sad part and she just takes out her phone, brightness all the way up, and starts texting. I cannot explain how pissed off I was, I snatched the phone out of her hand and turned the brightness all the way down and gave it back to her

Agreed 100%. It's hard to go to a local theater these days because people have little kids/babies, or it's grown adults talking or using their smartphones.
On June while watching Toy Story 4 in my local theater, there was a lady and she brought 3 of her kids and her dumb kids sat next to me and occasionally the kids were talking and she didn't do a damn thing. I got angry and moved to another seat. I saw the movie again the next day in another theater and it was expensive but the good thing is that there were less people in it.
I watched Aladdin movie last month (went to my local theater again) and there's a lady a few seats away from me using her phone. When she used it the 2nd time, I asked her not to use it and she stopped. It's hilarious because I'm younger than her, and she looked like she's in her 30's-40's.
Do you have Alamo Drafthouse in your town? There's one that opened up here in Los Angeles a few weeks ago and their rules are dead strict. If they see you talk or text once, they give you one warning. Do it again, they'll kick you out without refunds. I watched The Lion King in Alamo Drafthouse and it was a great experience.

I'll never forget the time when this guy just got up in the middle of a movie and yelled at the projectionist because the volume was too loud for his sensitive ears, or the time when someone thought it was a good idea to throw his drink as high as they could. What makes matters worse is that movie ushers act completely oblivious to these incidents. Avoid going at night because that's when movie theaters turn into hangout spots, and try to go in the morning instead. Also, avoid opening nights like the plague.

I know this is an old video but I fully concur. A few years ago I was at a movie festival and a group of guys in the same row always turned up late and would be in and out all throughout the movies and I got sick of having to keep standing up to let them out. During one movie they turned up about 15 mins from the end with bags full of takeaway!! I realise this was not a phone related experience but people really need to learn the etiquette .
