    OMG you just mentioned the problem I have been having with my stoelting SF144-38I. The temperature is above 100 degrees inside my ice cream truck and it takes forever for the machine to freeze and go to "SERVE" mode.I started installing an AC unit into the truck. Hopefully that will enhance the performance of my machine.
    My goal is to open an ice cream shop in the near future so I will keep you guys in mind.

      Hi machine cannot function properly over 85 degrees. You can also find a way to vent out that hot air from the condenser.

      We don't typically recommend using water cooled machines in a food truck or any location not hooked up to a proper water line. You might reach out to a food truck company for their expertise on this.

      It is best you stick with an air-cooled machine, with a water-cooled machine you need a drainage system.

  • @dallascreative9015
    @dallascreative9015 Před 6 lety

    We have a water cooled machine, but no water line or drain. Would it be possible to set up a water pump from a water source and let the water drain out into a container? Does the water ever come into contact with the yogurt?

    • @slicesconcession8012
      @slicesconcession8012  Před 6 lety

      Aaron. The water never comes in contact with any product. It is inside the machine. You could do glycol chiller system which has a pump as apart of it. That is one option and glycol systems while expensive upfront can pay for themselves in water bill savings.
      Also assuming it would meet local codes and your floor has no elevation up you could run your "out" water line up to ten feet if you have a drain within that margin. However you need a tech to adjust your water valve to ensure proper head pressures. This is vital. Your tech needs to make sure he or she adjusts water valves while looking at freon pressures.

    • @slicesconcession8012
      @slicesconcession8012  Před 5 lety

    • @slicesconcession8012
      @slicesconcession8012  Před 5 lety

      @@ETSecm HI, Not really. You could create a glycol system on the roof of the truck but that would be 15k easy. If you parked in the same place every time and can have water come in and then down the drain following your local laws you could. Truly mobile requires air cooled and lots of duct work and extra AC. Machine cannot reach full capacity above 85 degreesF

    Hello!
    I'm looking at purchasing 6 Taylor 723 water cooled machines. My question is, how much water does 1 machine go through a day? Lets say its running 8 hours and dispenses about 10 gallons of product a day

    • @johnanders8861
      @johnanders8861 Před 5 lety

      It would use a lot as I is in such might demand. I use a glycol system in my shop in Wheeling, WV. I also have 6 machines, but mine are Taylor 334 machines which are water cooled. All together, before I had the glycol system, I was using regular tap water, which used almost all of a 2” water line coming into my store. I would say over 300 gallons a day if they are running intermittently, but if the water is a little warmer than mine, which was at 50 degrees, look to use upwards of 400-500 gallons per day.

      John Anders where I can buy glycol system?

    • @johnanders8861
      @johnanders8861 Před 5 lety

      Marco daniel Trevino You can go to your local restaurant supply store or refrigeration tech store nearby to you and they should be able to help you. I made my own with just a Little Giant water pump, a large fan and radiator from a seller on eBay, a cambro food container, and some polyethylene line, it works fine, and is approved by the local health department. It can chill up to 10 machines per circuit, but I would get help with the water valve removal on the actual soft serve machines. If you don’t take my word for it, or you don’t feel comfortable doing it, just hire somebody. You would rather pay $2000 to pay someone to buy one and install it for you that ruin 6 ice r dam machines worth well over $1000 a piece, or possibly even the building you are in. Just my 2 cents.

    • @slicesconcession8012
      @slicesconcession8012  Před 7 lety +2

      Air cooled machines work best in environments under 80 degrees F. The colder the better. If you are running a single machine maybe put a fan to keep air circulation in that area. If you have multiple machines, you may need to add an A/C just to blow on the machines. Third option is to pipe the hot air from the machine to outside. This would require using A/C ducting and added fans. Water cooled machines will also run much more efficiently when the water coming into the machine is colder, but they do not discharge so much hot air as to raise the ambient temperature around them.

    Thanks Joe.
    In summary:
    Water cooled: Transfers the cost of cooling to your water bill.
    Air cooled: Transfers the cost of cooling to your Central Air Conditioner (electric bill), and requires device to be in AC climate,
    or Northern climate where Ice Cream is in less of a demand.
    Non-glycol water cooled systems are SIMILAR to taking the output from your house water heater, and pouring it down the drain.
    I realize codes do not allow consumption of that 'warm' water, but its still a strange mentality to see this resource flow.
    I'm beginning to see what affects the price of consumer level product.
    If possible, I would run an Air Cooled systems air output thru ventilation, and pump that heat outside.
    Let God cool it back down.
    Such a bizarre concept when considering the net energy/resource usage.
    For Ice Cream.
    Such is the way of capitalism.
    See You Later.
