  • It was time to kick up the heat on a Tri Tip, so I mixed up a Harissa Seasoning before grilling up my favorite cut of beef on the Weber Kettle. To go with this delicious beef I also made some Grilled Potato Salad with Linguica.

    Add another 1 to the list of gotta do's. Since Tri Tip is hard to get east of the Mississippi I have only had 1. It was the 1st low n slow on the Weber as I used one of your vids completly as I really had no idea what I was doing. Looks like I got to get another one as that was a excellent cook and video...

    I really need to stop watching these when I'm hungry!! Looks so good!! Tri Tip can be tough to find here in Australia but when i do find it i always get one and reverse sear it. Such an under rated cut of meat

    I’ve made hundreds of steaks and I’m known as the go to guy around my friends but have yet to make a single tri tip that was any good. I follow directions like these step by step, inch by inch. I follow the cutting, marinating, cooking directions. I just don’t think it’s a cut of beef I can apparently do well. I’ve also talked to others and they avoid it as well

    • @CookingWithRy
      @CookingWithRy  Před 5 lety

      That’s odd. It’s the one cut that I can nail every time using the same method.

      Cooking With Ry maybe I’ll get it down one of these days. That harissa looks like it’ll be good on plenty of other cuts. I’m sure I’ll end up trying this way as well. When I’ve made tri tips before they always come out just tasting like a eye of round. Guess I’m not holding my tongue right.

    i was in love with this only when reading Harissa, But man you've got to try DERSA, It's Harissa but without any chemical thing and you've got plenty of pepper in it, How to explain it's the difference between Prime and Normal. But hey i was conquered just right after Harissa Word. Thanks RY

  • @mts982
    @mts982 Před 5 lety

    you should put the harissa on first then the other spices/herbs.

    • @CookingWithRy

      I generally prefer to put the dominant flavor on the outermost side, but this gets all rubbed around so it really doesn't matter.

      Look at my Cheerwine Chicken video and the sauce I made in that. I would substitute some peach juice and peach preserves for the Cheerwine Soda, and then use a small amount of pureed Jalapenos for the spice. You can always add more :)

      Hi Ed I’m in FL and can get them at Sams. Sometimes they slice them into “tri-tip sirloin steaks" for some ungodly reason, but if you ask the meat counter guys, they’ll go grab some whole tri-tip for you. They’re a bit lean so dry brine overnight and they’re awesome.
