Give it to a restoration guy. There are so many channels here on YT and they restore them old tools that nobody uses regularly anymore, but that are a pleasure to look at, still admiring the quality, just like you do. It will spent its retirement in a room with all the vintage tools that shine like new now: them ball-motors, cheesecutters, coffeegrinders, hand-crank milk-centrifuges and grindstones, vises, and hundred year old jigsaws and hydraulic jacks. Who uses an ages old 6" thickness planer? Those restoring-guys!
I actually went backwards with my shop bandsaw. I like the rigidity of the metal construction of old tools but especially the old style hand cranks/hand wheels. They definitely don’t make tools to last like they used to.
There are some great old tools out there. Some just stand the test of time a little better, like bridge Port Mills, etc. This 6inch thickness planner was built like a tank, but who needs a 6 inch, single cutter, thickness planner. The world of wood working has moved past that. I checked out your channel and subscribed - Keep up the great work!

I do enjoy a good tool restoration video! Something about bringing something back to it previous glory or even better than new that is so satisfying.
