I am very lucky to have a partner who is willing to work through my jealousy issues due to a very ingrained fear of abandonment.
My boyfriend is really great but for some reason every time I see him talking to other people I feel jealous and I don’t know how to deal with it, so here I am. He deserves to talk to other people without me sitting there like 👀
How about when you are feeling threatened as you watch your boyfriend you take out your cell phone and text or call a friend to distract yourself or you can also pretend that you are talking to someone who is telling you about their low esteem feelings and pretend that you are telling her how she is a wonderful person and shouldnt feel that way. To make it even more interesting pretend it's a male friend who needs your words of encouragement. This sounds crazy even to me but it might actually help.
I never felt much jealousy before met my narcissist ex who constantly cheated, lied and mentally and psychically abused me. It’s like something in my mind compares me to other females and makes me feel like I’m not as good as them. It’s not a nice feeling but in a different context there’s partners out there that are evil enough to try and make their partners jealous

I agree completely.. I’m more so a secure person but if someone gets into a relationship with someone like I did, that is constantly briskly putting there phone down, deleting messages and has lied a few times, it will make you feel a bit insecure! So sometimes we react based on who or what we are involved with! Either way I don’t think it’s healthy! But when two people love one another like we did that kinda stuff shouldn’t be an issue!

I'm not jealous but I think people lack respect for their partner sometimes and the reaction to that can come off jealous but it's more about respect. If your in a relationship it's about being together. No one needs to be with someone who can't make them feel secure in this already messed up world. I mean really it's not easy to trust these days. So it needs to be built. Flirting with others. Liking photos doing whatever that is all disrespectful when you are in a commitment so people who think otherwise don't even know what a relationship is.

I agree, when we are in a relationship we should respect our partners feelings but unfortunately some may not have the same level of sensitivity to how the other may feel. It all comes down to empathy in the end and if there is no mutual respect and empathy it can trigger all sorts of insecurities in many relationships. I tried the camera lens exercise and it sadly made me feel much worse... Its like I could see even more clearly how he wasn't choosing me in that moment and his desire for the other woman became even more clear from a distance.
I was never a jealous person until some things happened in the relationship that made me to feel jealous. (Lil things like him liking the attention of other girls a lil too much) Now it won’t go away and to top it off now I feel insecure and want to check his phone. I NEVER used to be like this.
Hello Yudy, yes sometimes it is only when we are feeling insecure or unsure in our relationship that we can often begin to experience ourselves being jealous which can course us to feel unsettled. Like you say above re the attention of other girls, rather then you feeling insecure, see it as "his" need for the attention from others rather than put yourself down and feel that you are not enough for him. Sounds like my marriage. To top it off he is extremely non-affectionate which stems from his childhood. That adds a thick layer of insecurity for me.

I think the first step I'm gonna take is to stop asking my boyfriend if the person he is hanging out with is a boy or a girl because no matter what gender, its important to remember that he loves me with all his heart and would never cheat on me with another girl.
I think it´s not your fault that you´re jealous. You just happened to have picked a person who does not feel the need to share what´s going on with him with you in detail.
I am sure you would not ask anything and be in peace if he said: I am hanging out with these people and we´re doing these stuff; or: oh that other day I was with this people and I want to tell you the silly story, we did this and that and it was funny, I found this interesting.... or if he is on the phone: this and that texted and that´s what´s going on with them...
Some people just think it´s not that interesting for their partners or worthy to share. But you happened to be a person who wants to know everything about the person you love.
You should be happy and it´s possible. Just try to communicate how you enjoy hearing about details from his day or if he does not understand you after all of that, maybe you should find a person who is sharer to begin with.
But I totally understand why people tend to like mysterious ones, taking a challenge to open them up, which may stay a challenge.

Oh my goodness you are so right on. I am feeling and going through everything that you describe. I believe you will really get me past this thing that has been plaguing me and the ones I become involved with. It has been a self-fulfilling prophecy that I eventually lose them because of my jealousy. I need to let people be who they are going to be and not try to control and confine them. I felt jealous when my girlfriend would go to diner with some of her friends (i'm sure they were totally plutonic because i would ask and she would tell me) and 9 times out of 10 she would find a reason to not go to diner with me but then the next week she would be going out to diner with her friends again. i find that a little tough to not feel a little hurt... your thoughts please
My partner and I are in a working progress to fix my relationship. I’m ridiculously jealous and can get insecure even though my partner has never showed signed of it. We recently just had a really bad patch and he expressed he loves me less from it and still unsure of our future.

ive really never felt the need to be jealous in my life when i was married, when it ended and met someone new who is the most lovely person, im constantly jealous of his ex they still have a good relationship where as i dont with my ex. my children are older so no need for me to see him but my current partner will see his ex on a regular basis due to small child, i know this is selfish but cant stand the thought of them spending even 1 minute in each others company, and i hate her because that will mean i wont see him that day. Not sure if this type of relationship is normal or am i being too sensitive. I know i will lose him eventually if i keep this up.

The day after I saw this video I was confronted with an issue with my gf talking to someone from work. Unfortunately I did not take the time to evaluate it objectively and blew up a bit. Now I seem insecure in her eyes I believe. Any thoughts on regaining a sense of self confidence or at least showing her that I am working in my issue?

Im jealous to a person who is not labeled mine. It realy hurts seeing her happy with others and i felt competing to that person. How would i accept that this person is not mine so that this jealousy will end.
