Great info, but it’s also the case that the initial exaggerated distance of the avoidant can trigger, even in an otherwise secure person, anxiety and the need to move closer to the person who has withdrawn from the relational field in the first place. Avoidance is a coping strategy in the face of intimacy, it’s not always a response to an anxiously attached partner.
