  • Today I'm introducing the first of our three new bikes for this riding season. Further, I'm installing TAB's 2-1-2 mid-pipe to de-cat the bike and make it sing a better and louder tune. This video doesn't get into much detail on this bike but rest assured, a full comprehensive review is on the way. If you have any questions I can answer, please leave them down in the comments section. I'll make sure to include answers to those and more when I do follow up videos. As always guys....Thanks for Watching!

    Great video! I’ve owned two Chieftains! A 2014 and a 2018 Limited! Both were Awesome Bikes! At 64 years young I went back to Kawasaki. First a Ninja 650. Then a 2019 ZX636. Now I’m on a 2023 ZX10R ! Keep up the Great Content!

    I never got the obsession with crazy loud motorcycle pipes, but I do like a nice rumble. My victory cross country came with cobra tri ovals which keep the noise down in my geezer neighborhood, but really shine when I open it up on the country roads here in SW, Ohio, but still are not to loud that I can not enjoy my fairing speakers. I did like the sound of these tabs in the video and some of the tabs are obnoxious for me. What a great bike to get, you will love it and next year I plan to sell my Victory and get the Challenger which was the bike that Victory was going to replace the Cross Country with, but instead the glory goes to Indian. By the way, I like your garage.

    Great video and the bikes sounds awesome. My history was sport bikes too but now I've moved to a Goldwing and if I am a good boy my wife says I can have a Cheiftain later this year. If I had known about Indians range before buying my Goldwing last year I'd have gone this way. That is a good looking machine. The Goldwing is fantastic but I sure could put that pursuit in my garage too. Congratulations, lovely bike. Stay safe.

    Another great video. Sounds really excellent! I could probably be comfortable with this dB level around town, but even with a helmet I think I'd get a headache on longer highway/ touring rides, especially out of state. I love the stereo on my Indian (I'm not 100%, but am at least 90% certain my V&H pipes on my youtube videos aren't as throaty or raw as yours. My best sound example of the pipes is the Clear Creek Canyon video where I'm deep in 5 mountain Tunnels) but think I've found a good satisfying balance between throaty exhaust and listening to my music.

Almost like a combo of cruiser torque and sportier bike zip, - I went with RCX 3”, I went back and forth between that and the little more spendy Vance & Hines- I spoke with folks over at West end motor sports back south East and based on the sound and what they had to say, I went with that version of slash cuts- ultimately I may end up going with a full 2 brothers system but baby steps- I love the bike the way it is, factory grips, syndicate seat, all fantastic- just need to hear the bike better and so does traffic- anyway that pursuit is absolutely class A

I will likely take it in for the Stage 1 air intake and that comes with a new map as well. Personally I think its running fine for now though but I do think its probably in my interest to get it tuned at some point as I worry about AFR and long term damage. Hopefully they'll have the 23 ECU's broken soon. Thanks for the comment and question! Take care!

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  Před rokem

      so far, I'd say the clearcoat is "soft" or rather it scratches easily...too easily. Now while I acknowledge that every bike I've ever owned has eventually had scratches from jacket zippers, boot drags, etc.. you just look at this bike wrong and a scratch will appear. Its really something Indian needs to correct in the future. That being said, I think you can manage it by ensuring you keep the paint clean and at the very least apply a protective wax. I intend to take a weekend and do a full paint correction, compound, polish, etc and then apply a ceramic coating. I dont think this will make the bike impervious to scratching but I do think it will strengthen it and should help. time will tell but the bike is beautiful and I will do my best to keep it that way. Thanks for the question and I'll try to cover this in a future video or as part of the review.

    I have a 2022 Pursuit Limited Premium and have a 23 Pursuit Elite on order. I did the full Indian Stage II but didn't do the CAT delete. Did you notice any heat reduction after removing the CAT? I'm worried about that since right now I'm happy with the performance of the Stage II and Rinehart slip-ons. I worry about the bike throwing codes after doing too much. I'm putting TAB 4.5" slip-one with the 2.5" baffles on the Elite when it comes in. I am really curious about the heat reduction by removing the CAT.

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  Před rokem

      I haven't ridden it enough since I did it to tell if the heat is reduced or not. I think it is but then again, I've only ridden around town at this point. I will get some longer rides in, in the coming weeks and I'll make a follow up when I do the review. I'll specifically talk about that. I dont see any reason the heat wouldn't be less at this point since removing the CAT takes out a lot of the heat potential with the more free-flowing system....but then again...i really dont know and I dont want to assume anything yet. so far I'm loving the sound and it rides great so far. thank you for the question and comment. @StormtrooperRides  Před rokem

      Thanks Kerry! I dont think there will be any short term damage done by running it this way for now. I do think it will need a tune/re-map eventually but as of now the ECU for the 23's has not yet been broken yet and so there are no mail-in services available. I will very likely take the bike for the new air intake and that comes with a new map as well and should help a little. But I want to stress that the bike is running fine and I'm really happy with its sound and performance so far. I waited until after my first service and is now locked in Sport Mode. Time will tell and I'll update you on this channel if I run into any issues. No codes and bike runs fine though bottom line.

      @countryboymoto it really changes the sound of those rineharts and makes them much more crisp but maintains that deep tone. Hopefully it doesn't become a problem and I wont advise anyone else to do it but then again, a lot of guys are doing it and so far so good. I will get a tune when one becomes available for the 23's but until them I'm just going to live on the edge haha! Thank you for the question and maybe talk with your dealer to see what they say about the removal and warranty? For what its worth, the bike runs great, it runs cooler, sounds way better and I'm not detecting any ill effects from the cat delete. YMMV. Thank you for the question and hopefully I can address this more in a future video.

I'm not too worried about it at this point, no codes, the bike is running great and its only getting to about 180-200F which seems normal to me. I really like the sound the bike is producing right now, its not overly loud but when you get on it, you can hear it very clearly. When cruising, the bike is hearable but not in a droning kind of way and its very pleasant to head down the interstate on this bike with this setup. Great looking shop but I would add a lift with a Wheeldock chock. Save your back. As for loud, that is a choice you get to make but I noticed you looking around at the street. I don't ride to make noise and don't get impressed with one neighbor I have who can't help needlessly ripping thru first and second gear in our neighborhood. Please be aware when you are tempted to do this. Your loud pipes don't really save lives. Statistics prove it.

    My low side pipe was SUCH a pain to get on! I dread the day it needs to come off

      indeed, that was super challenging and that took almost a half hour to get on. I was cussing through the whole thing...but luckily it eventually went on. It was worth it but you'd think they could come up with a better way! thanks for the comment!!
