    In my humble opinion the battle reports with Richard are among the best wargaming content on youtube. This stuff is highly underrated :) Thanks!

      I agree, this is some of the best game coverage around, and Richard is the veritable John Cleese of historical wargaming.

    this really is my favorite video. I dont play table top games, but this really lets you think like a commander. Rich really made you feel it, the first move the squad....knowing they couldnt handle a tank....let it roll right by.

  • @DreamHomeSolutionsChesapeake

    Played this game many times and always an excellent time. Our group used to play Bolt Action but this system seams so much more realistic to what a commander goes through with the choices that are available.. Fantastic Rich👍

    I tried CoC once and was a bit confused (I didn't have a rulebook and relied on the guidance of others) but I've been playing and enjoying Sharp Practice v2 a fair bit and I've realised after watching this that they share many similarities and will give CoC another go soon. Great video.

    never played a TFL game but i like how he narrates the scenario right from the start in military terms..ie his troops are reluctant due perhaps to a bad experience in area before rather than how sometimes people talk in a manner that sounds very gamey...and of course plenty of chains

    8:46 at this point isnt he moving his patrol marker outside of 12 inches of another friendly patrol marker? So techincally a illiegal move but also it kinda bites him in the butt because his deployment for that marker is sooooo small

    Great game guys! Just two questions. One, when the M1 Garands re-roll 1s? Second, when an HE round hits a building and rolls three 6s (like the Panther rolled), isn't the building going to collapse at the end of the turn? Thanks. =)

      Both semi-automatic rifles and the BAR in this game do reroll ones. it might not seem like a lot, but it adds up for your basic troops over the entire game.

    Much prefer red markers to show shock. As Rich mentions, it's just so much better visually, not just for the camera. Also a lot less faffing than mini dice. I use red beads purloined from my daughter's DIY toy necklace kit.

    • @aussiejed1
      @aussiejed1 Před 5 lety +1

      Yes. Too Fat Lardies don't make miniatures. You use what you like. There are many companies out there that make 28mm miniatures that are compatible with each other - Warlord (Bolt Action), Artizan, Crusader, Perry (though they can be a little small). If you want to play in 15mm, there are of course LOTS available thanks to Battlefront.

  • @FASAfan

    I’ve watched three videos of Chain of Command, two of which was actual play. I have yet to make it to the point where shooting starts. It’s the confusing Patrol “mini-game” and crossing of measuring tapes to determine drop-off points. Then it’s a complicated process of deciding how, what and where to deploy units. I sure hope the rule book explains this process better. That Patrol phase makes little sense to me.
