Thanks for explaining the lighting discrepancies, Lori. I think I’ll put stickies on the page to represent the light sources next time as a reminder (and so that I can’t move the light sources around after I start). Luckily, like you said, it will be easy to remedy by shadowing and increasing the contrast of the areas away from the sun/not in direct sunlight.
@@ColorMyWorld I scanned it and then printed it onto the new paper; I have an all-in-one printer that can scan and print up to 11x17. At that point, I thought that I would just stick to the line art without any modifications just to see…
So happy to hear the enthusiasm in your voice and to have you being artsy once again!! You have been missed so much!!! Oh yeah, thanks for the shout out in my picture💜💜💜💜💜💥💥💥
Awesome work shown here. Thanks to the ones that gave permission to show your work. Lori, I'm glad your Dad is improving. I may have to take an extra high blood pressure pill before I learn the story behind the ring! Take care, see you soon! Hugs!!
No accident this lesson presents...for me, as is most art, music, awareness of light, of source, underlies and permeates everything. Welcome forward, Lori, yr a pearl beyond price.
Great to hear that New York accent again on "ColotTube". Your instructions are always welcome, however, if I followed your first one to " plan ahead before you pick up a pencil " I would have close to zero colored pictures! About the closest I get to pre planning is picking which colored pencil set I need to take off the shelf. At 76 who has time to pre plan? See you soon. I'm pre planning to watch you. Don't take too long.👵♿🎨 Barb N.
Yea!!! I was so excited to see you posted today, I'm so happy you are back. Thanks for the lessons today, I learned a lot, and kudos to the colorists!!
Hi Lori 👋 you do sound much better. Bless your heart ❤️ glad to hear your dad is doing better and on a good recovery path 🙏 thank you for all your teaching 😊 thank you for being you 😁💖
Great to see you back showing us how to see how to correct mistakes that we made. He did a awesome job with coloring his picture good to know what else he could do to correct his picture. Lori just know you are always in my thoughts and prayers 🙏❤ 🙏 ❤ as well your family is too.
Welcome back, Lori!! So glad to hear your voice again, and you sound like the normal you. Hope your dad will get well soon. Great explanations for David's and Sharon's works!! They both did awesome work.
I'm so thankful for you my dear, and pray that you will continue being encouraged and strengthened. I'm thankful for this video too, becuase I've been working on a piece for the past few months, but got stuck thinking about what to do for a background. I do get scared that if I do something I'll mess up my picture, so now I have more ideas on how to proceed. Blessings!
Hello Lori! Great video on backlighting. I will be working on this a lot more as it hasn't been a major focus until now. So much to learn so I'm still excited. Imagine my face, while watching this when you mentioned my name as you scrolled through the pics. You like my work! I'm so happy! You've been missed my friend. I'm so glad that you're back and teaching again. Class is back in session! 😊 Let's do this!
SO SO HAPPY you are feeling better, you do sound better. Your stalker sounds like my sister (for real) LOL When you have time would love an update on the BASE PASTE. Thanks for being YOU.
Hi Lori, I’m new to your channel. I loved this video as I am trying to be as realistic in my images as possible. This has given me some great tips. I hope you are able to continue teaching, ❤
Welcome back! Backlighting is fun, but yeah it's tricky to figure out where to leave less definition. The artwork from your group all looks great! I'm glad you're doing better and that your dad has recovered.
Great to see you back at it and patiently await the base pastes 😁 I know you said you were not going to try anymore pencils but, I think you should try the Arrtx pencils. I find myself reaching for them more than prismas lately because they are soft and creamy but not messy like prismas. I hate crummies.
Nice picture and good lesson! I cut the anchor picture out of a Kerby Rosanes book, colored it with nothing but Crayola's. I hate the lines! I wonder if the artist had a reference photo
I haven't been able to do any arts or crafts for years due to injuries. Am wanting to start with colored pencils and coloring. I have very little money but a mix of cheap colored pencils and a variety of Prismacolor ones. Is it ok to mix different brands? If so should I lay down cheap ones then the quality ones? Or? Do you even ever recommend this. You are my coloring Guru! Thank you very much 💞🙏
Interesting I did a flip thru of Kimberly's moon books and it's funny because alot of the same pictures are also in karlon Douglas gray scale dream world coloring books (which I know cause I own one). So I'm wondering who copied who here or if these images are just taken from pixabay etc and neither author has copied anyone ? At any rate beautiful gray scale books. Also alot of beautiful artwork on your Facebook group.
Designers purchase their pictures from a source, they still must choose content, placement, edit etc. It's not a secret, anyone with a camera or camera phone can make a grayscale picture. Designers save you the leg work. So nobody's copying, their purchasing the pics and making their own books. I am redoing the old B&W family photos, reprinting them and coloring them. It's a labor of love for sure. Hope this helps others.
So happy to know your back. I started watching the video the day you posted. But the older gentleman that ive been taking care of decided to have me doing other things!🤷♀️🤦♀️🤣😂🤭🤭. Alzheimers is such a ugly taken of someone's life! 🤷♀️🤦♀️😤😢😔. I get so mad when I think about it. Anyhoo!! The ring deal!! By chance is it coming from the sicko that I was about to head to you a couple of years ago!!?🤷♀️🤦♀️🤔🤷♀️!?? 😤😠🤬. Looks like and sounds like you should have let me deal with then! 🤷♀️🙋♀️😔. Silly little wabbit they are! They don't know who you know do they!🤷♀️🙋♀️🤣😂🤣😂🤭🤭☺️💞😉😜. Call me! So happy you are feeling better and have the drive back to get back to what you love so much. 🙋♀️💞☺️🙏🕊👋👋

This is exactly why I loved the picture. It's so fixable at this point. How did you transfer it to the new paper?
Art is full of imperfections, but I wouldn’t have ever seen them if the teacher hadn’t suggested the improvements! 🫶✊🏳️🌈
