If handling is important to you don't buy a poxy SUV!! Get a wagon, all a SUV is anyway is a wagon (same shape!) on stilts!! There is reason racing cars are low to the ground, it's to improve the handling etc. :)

I've gone to two dealers in the NYC/Philadelphia area where there is absolutely no markup at all. It really just varies by dealer. My friend works at JLR and says that dealers are not profiting nearly as much with the newer models, which is why some dealers are probably doing huge markups

I have 2018 sport. Test drove a few of the new ones and finally figured out what i didnt like. First of all when i drive my 2018 i felt more connected to the road like a BMW. In this new RRS i think the air suspension takes away that feeling which makes driving it too much like i was floating on the road. Plus none of the 90k sound systems in these new trucks could come close to sounding as good as my Meridian 3d sound system.
Decided to by an extended warranty for my 2018 and call it a day.

Don’t like the letters on the tailgate are on a black strip-you can barely see them. Outgoing generation looked much better with the letters on top of the body color. Also what’s with manufacturers today and these floating touchscreens? It looks like an aftermarket Apple CarPlay upgrade. Touchscreens look a lot better when they are integrated into the dashboard.

Great review. Have seen a new one, was on the back of a tow truck, and first impression was that the new Sports seems to look like a full size RR only with a shortened rear end. But with your video boot space still looks okay. Just wish they would be more reliable, then would be first car considered along new Cayenne.

You compare the RRS to the German SUV’s but don’t mention off road capability. On UK shooting days the German SUV’s get left in the parking lot and everyone piles into the Range Rovers and Land Rovers. Then there’s looks. The Porsche was a great design when it was introduced but is now looking more than a bit dated. The BMW looks like the result of a brief liaison between a 1920’s steam locomotive and a wingback armchair. The Audi, along with its Mercedes counterparts are bland and indistinguishable from many Korean and Chinese products if you can’t see the grille. The RRS is quite distinctive by comparison.

Whilst his sentiments may appeal to the majority of U.S. drivers with their obsession for performance, it must be remembered that both the Porsche Cayenne and the BMW are at best, merely "SOFT-ROADERS"..! The Range Rover in all it's guises will leave the competition far behind in genuine off-road situations. Okay, I may not use the "off-road" abilities much, but I would much prefer to have the ability and Not use it, rather than Need it and Not have it..!!

I was hoping to convince my husband to buy a Range Rover Sport until I finally watched reviews about unreliability. We own a mercedes & Porsche & both are quality vehicles. I fell in love with the Range Rover Sport style, quality & it's perfect size. What a disappointment.

    • @jimrothwell535

Yup. Drove a Porsche 944 right back to the dealer after they couldn't fix an ignition coil issue. Engine would stall out EVERY time the revs got close to 2700 unless you blasted full punch through it. Speaking of POS. I've had multiple BMW's and loved them all, but they were NOT cheap to fix.

The sport has lost everything that made it a great vehicle. The exterior design change a couple years ago was the beginning of the end, making it a box. The they put that tv screen console forcing you to take your eyes off the road to do anything was the straw that broke the back. Now it's too expensive and too ugly to even consider.
