    I’m in my 30’ and can attest that what he’s saying is 1000% true. Most car guys in Brooklyn/NY start driving like this from their teens. My friends and I been cutting up since ~2008. Like he said, only difference is he makes the videos and edits them. But best believe this type of driving has been going on for decades especially on the belt. I used to work for a doctor who told me stories of him having a girlfriend In like Babylon and he used to tear up the belt in his 911 back in the day. I gotta say it was a lot less cops back then.

    • @jadesded
      @jadesded Před 11 měsíci

      @@Augie- Everyone parroting stuff like this is the comments is putting too much faith in the american legal system, yes plea deals & money can lower sentences &/or get people off the hook, and even often police don't want to do their jobs & don't try to dig up evidence, but when you're a special case like 981 they can make an example, like what they've been trying to do with whistlindiesel & on the other side of the coin if you're a nobody then nobody will care if you disappear into the prison system. So basically on both ends of the spectrum 1% & 99% you can be fucked easily with the wave of a gavel, to say that oh it's fine, because the system works as it should is about as naive as applying logic to swimming, ofc you can logistically lower your chances of smacking or getting the book, but even 981/Float (seem to) recognize that, how much they suspend their disbelief on that fact idk, but especially that last bit of the interview it seems with the popularity of the channel they've definitely been taking the legal & life-risk implications at least more into consideration.

      Here in Canada it's sort of bizarre, national and provincial highways are the only places most people follow lane etiquette, and yet a three lane highway is usually treated like a two lane, one passing and two cruising, for some inane reason. Cop presence here is also insane, but unlike deep in the city, if you get caught out there, you'd better be cooking good cause they'll run you down in a few minutes no problem.
      I've been told they don't bother chasing you and simply radio ahead at a certain speed, the exact number being enigma to idiots like myself, it seems to change all the time, but sometimes it's down to luck whether you get away cause it's nothing but small towns and countryside out there and it's a fair six miles to the next exit.

      I know dudes that ride like this for years, usually 20s and early 30s. Given the swim teams, rational, calm, calculated cuts, and mostly non-criminal activities (traffic tickets aren't criminal acts).
      They are far more likely to get caught and probably face jail time than die. They are skilled drivers, and I'm not saying that they will never make a slight miscalculation while swimming and get caught with bad luck, but as it stands, with how they measure the risks and pick which situation to run from and driving skill, they are far more likely to get caught then die in a fiery blaze.
      NA traffic laws need real reformation regardless, Street swimming is largely a byproduct of the shitty NA transportation regime, with laws feuled by fear rather than sensibility. As 981 said, our highways are designed to safely go much faster than 60 (permitting traffic and line of sight). If we had the sensibility of the Germans, things would be much different.
      It doesn't make sense to penalize more competent and skilled drivers that aren't causing egregious risks to public safety, I'n a continent ruled by the automobile.
      Either way, all love for 981, for the longest time, I thought I was alone. I do hope he retires one day, or takes a lower profile. Lucks gotta run dry or NYPD might look to make an example. Would rather see him live on as a legend among the community and example of why the road rules in NA are broken, rather than anything else.

You can't really get away most places in the south outside of maybe dead in the middle of town and it's not really worth the risk because they will pit you or spike tires.
    On a bike though, it's a whole other story. Most southern states don't pit bikes but may still try to spike which is easily avoided usually. Sometimes you can literally just go where they can't, like supermoto on trails, sidewalks, alleys, hell even stairs on smaller bikes lol.

I found out the hard way, not all cop cars are restricted to 130-135. Sometimes it's not realistic out running a cop with speed. This is when you really need to be a top notch driver. Unless they stop today, one of them is 100% going to get caught, and the police will make him talk. They will throw the book at all of you and that means prison for a long time, and permanent suspensions on licenses. Once they get you out of the car, yall will never get behind the wheel legally for the rest of your lives even when you get out. Worth thinking about, no point in being rich if you have no freedom.

    This shit might be fun till you kill somebody. When you see some candles on the side of the road think about that next time.
    My step sister was with two friends and nearly died from the idiot driving, he was running stop signs. T-boned a mother and killed her instantly. SUV rolled and step sisters friend got ejected from the vehicle and has brain damage. Driver was 17 tried as adult and got 6 years. Step sis was beat up but okay.

    17:50 While pursuing a suspect, the NYPD Patrol Guide instructs officers to weigh the potential risks of traffic crashes, against the perpetrator's danger to others:
    "Department policy requires that a vehicle pursuit be terminated whenever the risks to uniformed members of the service and the public outweigh the danger to the community if suspect is not immediately apprehended. If chase is terminated, members will attempt to obtain sufficient information to effect apprehension.

    All for 981 and all but one thing you gotta always keep in mind too is that a lot of these new upcoming po’s dont have much experience, be careful out there because even if you know for a fact by law they can’t hit your vehicle for just “speeding”, they always will find an excuse to justify anything to save their own ass and play hero

    9:22 I don’t drive quite as crazy as these guys. (I drive an suv) But I’ve always wondered how people can’t see the openings and/or avoid traffic. I always attributed it to my pops teaching me how to ride, always being alert to behind and ahead, where are the outs if you need to pull an evasive maneuver
