  • Despite my over use of the word "actually" in the video, I would actually like to share my challenges and struggles I have had since moving to Finland.
Remember that this could also be a case by case basis and not every immigrant have found these hard since moving to Finland as these are my own personal experiences.

The advantage of the taxation comes obvious if you get sick, need to school your kids, need public transportation, need day care while at work, Zero homeless, no beggars and 100% literacy. Yes, dark winters are the negative side but new activities are being installed with lights which helps.

Wikipedia is 100% better translator for Finnish language then google translator. Because it gives you the correct context as well. It is a great idea to check wikipedia as well when looking for the correct translation and see if they have Finnish translated page as well. They you are 100% sure it is the correct translation in the same context.
ps. This tip also works amazingly well for Japanese as well

Thank you for the video, you have such a great attitude when facing challenges in this country! I was expecting or hoping to hear about your experiences with regards to racism in Finland, but perhaps that is a difficult subject to talk about. I do hope that you have been treated fairly.

    1. Learn to understand first and then try to learn to speak(don't try both at the same time because speaking is harder and a lot easier when you understand what you say). Might even be smart to start writing it before speaking.
    2. You haven't met me yet I'm a fin and speak with everyone(usually old people and they have a lot to say) but you need to learn to read them if they want to speak(Then when they see you they might think, ohno do I have to speak english because if they knew my mother tongue was swe they might do the same or if its a guy you make em shy).
    3. That's why you try to find someone during the summer so you can cuddle in the candle light during the dark time :D
    4. Finding jobs got a lot harder after that we got those "vuokrafirma" bloodsuckers, before there was information in papers and other public places, you were even able to walk into a company and ask at their info desk. Now you need contacts, schools have at least names of companies that could hire a person with this or that profession. Stay away from the "vuokrafirma" if possible because that usually just ends up as short jobs here and there or then a long term without having the same benefits as those that were employed by the company.
    5. The taxes are for your own good. We pay a lot but when times are hard our country takes care of us, so if its not a must don't try to go around it because you are just digging your own pit to a worse society by doing that.

    Hi,
I am thinking to move to finland, like to come there and find a job, as I have a bit of previous experience, and I am from an english speaking country, how much is the possibility and chances to land a job, having a degree in another European country.

I was published this content already to your previous You Tube video but I will do this again in here because I'm not sure how do you follow of these comments. Okay you just got one more subscriber in to your channel ;-) You have very interesting content in here from your feelings to move in Finland, tips and tens but I'm very curious your roots from Nigeria. From your family day to day life in Nigeria with your family before you moved here. Day to day life here in Finland and good things and problems that which you have come across here. From your job here in Finland and your friends and your profession and study in Tampere city and so on ... You will get much more of content to your You Tube site from this way and maybe publish new video ones a week here and then you will get more of followers. I’m excited to wait for more content to your your channel. Regards old dude from Finland :-)

Is it possible to get job with a short stay visa.
Like a one month tourist visa in order to extend your stay. You know our aim is not to visit but to stay. So what's the possibility of getting a job that willake you to stay in Finland before your one month elaps .

I think the language, degree and skills are the key for white collar job or almost any job. Learn the language and start using it as soon as possible. I know so many people here from other countries who know only basic phrases in finnish and then they wonder why they can’t get a job. Of course there are some low paid jobs you can find and manage to do with very basic finnish, but not white collar ones or anything where you need to be able to communicate in finnish or swedish. Dark is hard for some of us too, so we often use these bright light lamps to give us energy in the morning.

At least one immigrant who doesn't claim that more immigrants should make Finland more "friendly" for non-Finns. It's hard to bear when strangers question your culture, even though they came to the country because of the better living conditions.
