Straight Outta Guantanamo. New Bike Reveal! Something that's not CRAP.

- Most of the time, we have useless crap on the channel but for once I got something decent. Time Scylon is my new bike frame. I didn't buy it for the aesthetics, I bought it for the engineering, adherence and the fundamental fact that the defect rate on Time frames has consistently been very low.
This frame was supplied by Time directly, their dealer network is somewhat haphazard. If you want one you can email them at info@timebicycles.com www.timebicycles.com
A video coming on the build up will probably come shortly!

That’s going to look great with some absolute black and ceramic speed parts on it.😉
Sram gxp bb😄
+1 fot ceramic speed gold ospw
Fuck yeah!!!!!
Ooh and Zipp wheels?😉
Yes, it’s the perfect Time for an oversized pulley derailleur.
the following feels both awful to write down but also great: "i'm happy that your time has come"
You win this round of comments, lol.
Oh, so that's what this waxy residue is. Time cum.
If you want to get one, email address is info@timebicycles.com and they will sort you out one way or another.
But how many pennies did you pay for it ?
@@mihpop9733 I bet it was shill bucks!
£2356.20 plus tax and duties to my door
I asked my mummy but she said I'd only break the winder and your mummy was silly buying one of those for a five year old.
Good to know - straight to the top of my shortlist for next bike. Frame is good value too.
Annnnnnd... TIME Scylon price has gone up, because it's now out of stock!
Wait, did they say they're upping the price or is that a presumption based on the increased demand?
Kevlar in the the steer tube layup is a awesome thing to finally see. I have been saying for years that it should be mandated that strands of Kevlar be used throughout bicycle frames. In a failure situation of the frame it would at the very least keep things from complete failure allowing a greater chance of a rider maintaining control and avoiding serious injuries'.
totally agree... I had kevlar reinforced carbon fibre XC ski polls about 25 years ago. It's just the right thing to do.
Kevlar seriously raises the first though.
It blunts knives, scissors etc. almost instantly. So the production of pre-cut kevlar is time and money consuming.
Considering the markup on high-end bikes this would be bad for us customers.
Already high-end bike frames are initially sold for over 4.000€ (Cervelo S5, Canyon Aeroad SLR, Specialized Venge, Scott Foil etc.)
I think the market for even more expensive frames is extremely limited. And limited sales increase the price even more...
Time does it for nearly 20 years!
At the very least when a rider drives into the back of a truck all the parts will be connected in one form or another for easy clean up. All joking aside , we really don’t know the life cycle of carbon frames. There are a great deal of these bikes getting past down from racer to racer to newbies. It would be nice to have a bicycle manufacturer standard. It may only take a few long strands like race cars have tethers on open wheels and suspension components, woven into the all ready under weight frames. Kevlar is a DuPont patent but there is other things similar out there. Kevlar is only cut with special shears and is most commonly known use in bulletproof vests.
@@Bendersnatchling the high end market is far from saturated, there is still plenty of room for super high end bikes
That weave is gourgeous. I look forward to seeing the build up. Dont forget the cherry on top, the AB Hollowcage. Then it will be perfect.
He knocked SRAM so heavily he has to install a complete wireless SRAM group.
However your spelling of “gorgeous” isn’t 🤭😂
@@MrSmid888 🙊😆
5:42 I'm surprised you were legally allowed to buy an endoscope
@Alfred Wedmore Yes it's a joke. Not sure one can be trusted in the hands of a master reamer
@@SWatchik ahahahaha
Probably the cleanest environment Hambini's endoscope has ever been in. LOL
Most adult toy shops in Koblenz sell them.
Top comment, needs more likes.
For sure this the best checked frame on the world before sending 😁
I don’t think Time have to bother picking out a “good” one
@@elstoof they don't need to
Finger crossed that the new owners maintain Time’s legacy. I’d be interested in their updated endurance model.
one thing about seeing just clearcoated carbon is they have the balls to straight up show you "this is how our carbon quality is like, look over and try to find any imperfections". granted that's only the aesthetic layer, but I figure many brands can't even make that look good without paint.
Well done Sir! Beautiful bike. Looking forward to seeing the final build.
After a long day at work I like to idle up to my TIme Scylon bottom bracket and do funny stuff to it. You’ll understand in about 7-8 years.
New frame day! Congrats! Love the look of that weave peeking through.
Congrats for the new frame! I own an Alpe d'Huez 01 for about a year and still deeply love every meter I ride with it. Wish You many happy kilometers with this beauty!
Called it! Congratulations on the new ride. Its going to look great with a campag groupset, an absolute black cage and those KPS wheels. You'll be the flashiest 5yr old in the village.
And wheelly through those backstreets?
congratulation Hambini! Hope you enjoy the new frame.
Congrats on your new frame & have many safe and enjoyable rides on her. Thanks
Looking forward to this build!
That's the nicest looking frame I've seen in a long time and the fact it's actually made well is very reassuring. Might have to make that my next frame. :-) Look forward to more updates when you've built it up with groupset and wheels to see what you think of it out on the road.
hambini loves his rim brakes
That is a sweet looking frame! I'm looking forward to your bike build video with component list.
Time's inbox just exploded! :)
Perfect!!!!! Congratulations for a great great bike! I bought a Time alpe d'huez 01 rim brake a while ago and put one of your BBs on it 😉!!! I can't wait to see you building it! Please show us the process 👍💪👌
Ce cadre est vraiment, vraiment magnifique et cela donne encore plus envie de faire du vélo...Vous savez choisir Mr Hambini!!!
My 2012 Planet X has the visible weave / gloss so I’m glad to see it’s coming back into fashion. The following year, 2013 they switched to matt black and I was gutted as mine was obsolete......
I call BS on not caring about the colour of the bike. That thing looks bloody amazing and deep down inside, your soul is glowing with joy :)
Congratulation on the new frame purchase. I know you'll have a bang up Time 😁😁🤣👍using it
Congrats on the new frame set.
A good day and have fun with your new bike !
looking forward to that full build video
Aah, beautiful frameset....I am a bit jealous. Enjoy it! 👍👍👍😃✌️
Stunning frame, looks amazing.
Sweetness!! Very nice Ham.
Congratulations on a new quality frame Hambini!! Can't wait to recive my Pragma Mawson frameset! :D
Herzlichen Glückwunsch - viel Spass bei der Montage und der ersten Ausfahrt! Gruss aus Köln!
EFFZEH!
They are beautiful frames to look at and sweet to ride!
Already waiting for the "Live Dreambuild Time Scylon w/out Crap parts"
With some post-rock ambiance
@@mrico523 anything from absoluteBlack will do, right?
That frame looks sick. Want!
Would love to see more in depth videos on this frame/bike!
Can't wait to see it built. I'm interested to see if you go with spaceships for wheels or practical ones. But let's be real, I'm only here for the close up on the paint job and carbon weave. 😆
Congratulations!
Loved the bike. Stayed for the dialogue. 👍🏼
Happy for you! I got my Time because of your review a year or two ago (yea I've mentioned like like 5 times in various videos, I'll stop!)
Awesome rim job !
Thank You for your suggestion on Time. I grabbed one earlier this year. I weigh about 90 Kilo's and am kind of hard on BB's Very pleased so far!
That's a gorgeous frame!
Very well done, sir. It is lovely. Rim brake eh.
Looks beautiful inside
Looks lovely
Ahhh! the smell and feel of a new frame. Next to come is new bike day..🤩
In do hope you're putting this through some NDT and CMM inspection. I want a thorough, thorough inspection.
Can’t wait for the buildup
That lovely carbon weave with the clear laquer over it reminds me of my beautiful TVT92 that I had in the early 90s. I regret so much selling that bike! It was about as stiff as cheese left on a plate in the hot sun, but it was phenomenally light and beautiful to behold.
Guantanamo, thank for for HamB this Friday
Frankly I think I’d just hang the frame on the wall as a piece of art, it’s stunning!
Very, very lovely, wishing you many, many happy kilometres.
Can't wait for the cut up and stiffness check on this one!!! 😄
Yes, in proper order, before he rides it.
he could probably cut a section out of the downtube and then epoxy it back on and it'll still be stronger than an s-works
My erect penis is stronger than s-works bikes
@@Roxas99Yami and a lot shorter than average!
@@albr4 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your work bro
I am the one thats getting off on carbon weave so thanks for that. Now i want one and i get one next year.
Dam fine workmanship. I do hope you're gonna wash it regularly 😊
Without a presentation, showing us 'lack of voids' and the perfect roundness of the bottom bracket, the information feels like: ' take my word on it'
Hambini REALLY IS like a 5-year-old on Christmas Day! New bike day is the best.
very very good choice, I really want a Time bike, the quality seems so good.
Like looking at it too and was lusting after that exact gloss finish because that carbon weave is damn sexy outside and inside too. You had way too much fun talking about this frame. Love the unique headset and like you an aluminum dropout too. Guess I'll have to hold on to my Trek 5200 for that until I wrangle up for a Time. Rim brake FTW!
That weave is a thing of beauty
Stunning bike. I'm happy for you. I want alp d'huez 01.
After watching too many Hambini videos, I’ve long ago decided that my new frame will be from Time or Look.
I went form a second hand look to giant :( i couldn't find a cheep disk bike with aero and light attributes
And yet, neither will actually make anyone faster. Did we not learn anything from "It's Not About the Bike". Spend the money on better dope.
@@truantray Hambini's argument for Time and Look through the years isn't about speed though
@@truantray it won't make you faster necessarily but you won't be shredding bearings or creaking 24/7
I love the looks of the frame, not too flashy.
Very coool!! Looks great!
I remember the old Specialized Epic "carbon" frames that were actually a carbon fiber wrap over very thin aluminum. They had that gorgeous weave with a clear coat, and the lugs were polished. Sadly, they had a bad habit of the bonds failing at the lugs (a trait shared by the old Look I also had), but both the Epic and the Look were beautiful bikes. Enjoy the beauty of your new ride!
@45 fottuto stronzo Still do for stems ..
Beautiful! Enough said.
Picked up a Fluidity frame , love it!
Love my Time Scylon!!
You look and act so excited for that lovely new shiny frame - almost like a 5-year old :)
it's about TIME ! I still have shoes & pedals from the 90's & 00's. I hope the new owners keep up the quality.
Yeahhhhh, I also have a Time Scylon and you sent me a wonderful BB for it! Enjoy it!
Yeah yeah but i want Hambini's opinion on the video from GCN about 3T's manufacturing technique.😉🤔😯😁
vroomen, need i say anymore
@@Hambini That'll do.
Was wondering the same... and figured what Hambini's response would be hahahaha
Even though 3T used RTM method just like TIme's, we don't know if their BB hole is going to be perfectly round and aligned.
@@Reanimator999 it's OK, Luke Walker is consulting.
Can’t wAit to see the full build!!
Congrats, it's a beaut!
A round bottom bracket! What a novel idea!!!
Beautiful frame.
Looks pretty sleek!
Very nice 👌 enjoy the ride
It's beautiful!
Welcome to the TIME owners club mate!
Leuscher sliced up a Time frame...
It looked exceptionally well molded.
Enjoy in good health. Cheers
You have taste Sir
The only frame I would buy again.
Damn you I thought it be something cheap and good. P.S thanks for the quick dispatch of my BB30 bearings my man.
Congrats on your new baby
Would love to see you look at a Felt! Similar finish with the clear coat
Looks like even a 5 year old can make a great choice! I have a Time VRXS and it's t he best riding bike I've ridden! And yes, the weave is amazing... is there still a matching stem? The weave real looks amazing on the stem!
Love my Scylon. Best bike ever.
It’s a beautiful frame. 👍🏻
Beautiful frame. I presume you'll be filming the build?
Interesting that Time is using the weave and epoxy injection technology when 3T claims they had to invent it with bespoke equipment designed and built in house. I first saw this used in the 90s by John Britten for the front suspension of his V1000 racing motorcycle. Britten was a genius, but no Luke Walker.
My pen is working.
3T says that because probably they were not able to buy the tools and equipment that other manufacturers (i.e., Time) use. Most of the time, these manufacturing processes are very complex and optimized, so you don't really want to sell your equipment because that is part of the industrial secret you are trying to protect.
Luke walker comment wins 10000 internets.
It looks nice, I knew it had to be a look or a time.
That is a nice lookin unit right there
Yowzers that's nice Hambini!
Seeing the weave is exactly what you want from carbon. When I got my first carbon bike I was quite Disappointed that the weave wasn't visible. Especially coming from motorcycles where carbon parts have the weave shown.
Good to see they've gone back to a conventional style seatpost too. Put me off getting a 2nd hand one when I bought mine (2nd hand time or brand new Ultimate CF SLX) as it might not have fit me and couldn't realistically be adjusted.
GIS A GO MR! 😉
Nice looking frame mate.
