One of the rare builds that had me scrolling back up first time I saw on the gram. Such a nice steed!
Maaate that's high praise coming from you! Your builds are absolute top shelf 😍
Yeah high praise it's ride of Japan !! Following both of you :) 8:19
the crossover nobody expected
Like that you're honest about why you're not doing a review, transparency at it's finest 👍
Appreciate you saying mate!
about damn time that time gets the recognition they desreve, i hope more people clue into the fact that the pinarellos and sworks are not worth the asking price if they dont have the product quality and engineering to back that up, I'm so glad my own time will arrive at my door steps soon
It's wild how much modern Pinarellos and Specialized frames make TIME seem like a bargain!
Glad to see you back with a new video. Gorgeous bike!
Finally! Someone else willing to go 40x upfront and 10-50+ on the back. It's my dream drivetrain for CX :)
A super build mate what a stunning bike. I'm toying with the idea of the same 1x conversion to my Belgie Spirit.
Just sharing info on the Garbaruk kit. I was having A LOT of noise problems with it. Couldn’t figure it out. I thought it was the bearings in the T47 BB. I went as far as buying a new BB and 11-46 cassette. Went to the bike shop they couldn’t figure it out either.
The Culprit: Cassette Spacer.
Removed the spacer, did some tweaks to the derailleur and that solved the problem! ( the Garbaruk works fine with SRAM rival 1x11 group by the way)
Great build James! I got the gold cassette and cage too!
I used their Aero Oval chainring with a Force crank, and it is noticeably louder than other chainrings I've tried like stock SRAM or QCX1 Rotor.
I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of this best at the Ashton cafe and I can confirm that it's a thing of beauty!
Kinda nuts? Kinda understatement. This is proper mad stuff. Well done!
Sweet Build Buddy 🎉
Love Time!!
Great job
Oh yeah; bring on more Time bikes and other Time products! They are so nice, yet so rare at the same time. Unfortunately, I never had the luck to ride a Time bike, never even seen one for sale here, where I live. Saw some on the used market, but never a new bike in an actual store.
I hope they will make a successor to Skylon; a true aero machine, with fully integrated cables, awesome geometry and speed.
awesome set up especially the AGX wheels
What a sleeper brand Nextie is! They're well respected by some MTBers I know but very few people talk about them for road and gravel.
@@JustRideAdelaide Light Bicycle currently makes the same rim as a new model. 44 Depth 30 Internal Width and 40 External Width. I wonder what I should get
Still waiting for your long term review of the ADHX! Cheers mate!
2019. Good memories. I just wish I could remember 'em.
My only issue with Time bikes is there frames look to good to ride. Should be mounted on a wall and just admired.
Awesome & Thanks :)
We miss your videos!! It has been ages since your last upload!
I went a Garbaruk 11 speed 50t cassette for my gravel bike with a modified Rival derailleur, it worked but shifting was terrible and I couldn't tune it, after only a few rides I modified my shifter and put 12 speed sram eagle on and it worked a fair bit better but it was never quite right, turns out my derailleur hanger was bent from brand new. But it does show that if your hanger isn't perfectly straight you will have more problems with Garbaruk.
The symptom of my bent derailleur was I needed more cable tension when in the smaller gears, but then it needed less cable tension in the larger gears, obviously you can only adjust cable tension 1 way 😅
Oof yeah a bent hanger with a modified drivetrain sounds like a bad time!
Awesome build! How do the Cinturato Gravel M compare to the Pathfider Pro for mostly road and light riding but wet safety?
I prefer Ti or steel frames but I’m carbon curious. Time definitely sets themselves apart with the details that go into this frame but I would really prefer more tire clearance.
Their new ADHX45 should tickle your pickle then.
Wow 🎉🎉🎉
Those bars look great, I wonder why no one has tried that ergonomic shape before as the wrist position comment makes a lot of sense. Are they strong?
Hi great build! Im kind of new in gravel and thinking in a build, about geo, my bike will have 71ht and 74st, with 140 head lenght, 375 reach and 435chainstays
With this numbers will be too racing bike, i will like kind of fast gravel but on long hours events so not idea if its in the middle or maybe too uncomfortable.
About drivetrain im thinki g in firce 42t and garbaruk 10-52, since i do gravel rides with some tarmac do you think 42-10 its enought? And on the other hand in some bikepacking gravel event 42-52 you think its good call?
Its so hard to choose, since some recomend 2x force with 36 rear, or 1x but with 10-45 cassette where the jumps between cogs are small..., even considering e13 helix 9-50....
Will ride with 40 tires and average rider (in road use 50 34 and 11-34 cassette)
Thanks a lot for the feedback and the help
I went with the Giant Revolt Advanced Pro because of the ADHX's limited tire clearance
Great bike. For a size Large how tall are you? Is the geo the same for the Alpe d’heuz?
Great video! In your opinion -would you consider the ADHX (in general) a N+1 killer?
That always depends on your expectations. The ADHX has the geometry to be a road bike and a gravel bike but personally I wouldn't do some of the multi-day trails around South Australia like the Mawson Trail that require carrying a lot of gear. It can do a lot of ordinary gravel though.
It's more of an all road bike than a gravel bike. But what an insanity though 🙌👏 but you probably didn't need more clearance as you still have your winspace g2 right?
Space between frontwheel and downtube is very narrow. Great aerodynamic feature for a racebike but seems a bit strange on a gravelbike because of the dirt that could quickly get stuck. Did you had issues with that? Other than that, great build and very nice frame and bike overall!
Is this a size Large, and if so how high do you set your saddle top above the center of the bottom bracket? Thanks
That's a gorgeous bike, although I thought it would be a lot lighter. My Merlin Sandstone (titanium) weighs in at 19 lbs with GRX Di2 2x, and has clearance for 50mm tires. I'd love a bike that was 2-3 lbs lighter for faster/hillier events, but the Merlin is pretty bombproof. I broke a stupid light Tune stem on one of my road bikes after hitting a pothole in the road descending a mountain (fortunately I didn't crash), so while I do like "light", I also like "durable" lol. I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've heard anyone on CZcams (or really anywhere) refuse to do a review because they're affiliated with the brand/sales.
There's a weenie build somewhere in my ADHX but the stem, bars, and drivetrain are pretty hefty. The stem is basically brick all by itseld. Over time I'll probably trim some of the weight when parts need replacing but for now I'm happy enough!
fwiw my size 58 adhx w/ zipp 303 firecrest wheels weighs in at 18.5 lbs and that's w/ the stock handlebars & stem which i'll eventually swap out
I've got a similar combo- big wide rims and a frame that's rated for a 38. I've got a few concerns though and I'm wondering if you share them:
- I feel like the 35 bumped up to 38+ makes for a great, responsive and well supported tyre. However as it inflates the tyre the tread section (thicker rubber, flat protection, knobs) stays the same size and flattens out. Maybe not great for flat resistance on those shoulders and recruits your cornering knobs earlier in a lean than designed for.
- I feel like as bigger tyres become more and more popular, 35c sizing is increasingly neglected by gravel tyre manufactures, particularly in more aggressive tread patterns. eg G one R/ Overland, Terra trail/Hardpack, Cinturato S. As more and more people say that a 40 is too small it's possible that this will dwindle further, leaving us stuck with undersized CX tyres and clunky touring tyres.
You got any thoughts on the matter?
Good questions, tyres are probably the most important part of a gravel build.
Sidewall cuts don't really worry me. Sometimes shit happens and you puncture. I haven't had any issues with sidewalls when gravel riding so far so I must be riding relatively safely.
I think there'll always be 35-38mm gravel tyres. Maybe a few options will drop off but there's a lot of gravel bikes that max out at 40mm clearance so I think the market will exist long into the future. I know that American Classic's Kimberlite is their most popular tyre and they shift a lot of 35mm units.
The American Classics and the Pirelli Cinturato Gravel Ms give me all the grippy and speedy options I need.
Beautiful bike! Congrats. What size are the handlebars?
440mm wide 55mm reach 100mm drop
Yep, that's correct! I think these have already been replaced by newer models so I'd be keen to get a carbon version for the weenie gains.
Can this be set up with 650b large volume tires? Is it a good all road bike (e.g. 700 X 32)?
I'm torn between the ADH and ADHX for my next bike. I've got a Litespeed Watia gravel bike so I don't need it specifically for gravel. I just want to run 30's or 32's for a more comfortable and confident ride.
I have a set of those Nexties getting built in the coming weeks with onyx hubs and berds.
Not sure if I wanna run 45’s or 40’s on it! Got plenty of tire clearance, what do you think?
Coooool! I reckon start with 40s then work your way up. They'll probably blow out to be about 43mm anyway.
Do the Nextie's really make you more Aero?
What would be the tire clearance on 650b wheels?
Very interested in bars. Was thinking of getting the coefficient RR bars, but that’s wasted on me as a novice and non speed demon. Mainly cos of my wrist injury (ecu tendon).
Those Coefficient Bars are sooo much money! These Deda Gera alloys are much more affordable if you want to see if the concept works for you.
@@JustRideAdelaide have u got a source for the Gera bars that I can contact? I’m in malaysia. Spent my high school years and uni down under. Just to compare the prices in Oz and Europe Oz shipping make make the ultimate difference. Thanks
@@tariqkamil7853 no source at my end, I bought mine from BikeBug
what'd you replace the stock magnetic fork top piece with on the deda stem? very very picky thing that doesn't stay on well... only other comment is (and i know you briefly touched on it) it's probably worth mentioning that you can put a larger 1x chainring on there without going with the SRAM Force Wide crankset setup.. you can use the standard crankset but opt for a 2mm spindle spacer on the drive side which gives you just enough clearance for a 1x 50t SRAM chainring up front.. this is how mine is setup after going down the garbaruk, rotor, oval chainring etc... rabbit hole.. components as well as emailing back and forth with Time thinking Force Wide was the only option.. cheers!
Haha yeah we chose not to use the Deda stem cap and used a Carbocage one from my parts bucket instead. And good to know you can fit a 50 with a spacer. That's a monster ring!
I miss your videos.
swag
Bro got the diamond camo on his road bike
Very nice bike mate we’ll done! I am keen on the new ADH 23 but was wondering- any news/thoughts on when a updated Scylon will be released?
I have heard murmurs of a new Scylon but I'm not really sure how far off it is. It'll be the first of the next gen TIMEs though because their development cycles were slowed down by relocating their manufacturing and getting production going again.
Next stop: Eyropro handlebars?
Will Time build a ADHXX version with bigger tyre clerance?
They just did!
I know. wish the have the same paint job as the normal ADHX. Balck is ok but don't like the rest@@EmmanuelNataf
You Pimpin
I m 180cm in height, which size should I choose?
No more videos?
"i am a size large". Isn't that what we all say, though.
I just test rode this did not enjoy it. Thought I would buy as an all road bike. I currently ride a rim brake trek madone. It is wrong comparison in terms of feel and snapiness!
A single picture with a caliper and you are using it the wrong way (sorry, that hurted me). Cool bike.
That build ruins a great frame
