Rush- 2112 & Limelight Live in Rio Reaction - Hudba
Your reactions are memorable and Priceless. But the wiggle and the jiggle and the occasional giggle. Adds a whole new beautiful flavor to your reviews !
.....yeh,,,,, now that you mention it .......
55yrs old and Rush has been my fav band since i was 15 so nice to see younger people discover the talent that is RUSH
They had never played in Brazil and were surprised to see what a following they had. They sold out soccer stadiums.
So did AC/DC.
1981 was the year of Back in Black and Moving Pictures. Ring My Bell was pretty cool back then as well. Don't forget Funky Town.
@@richardeast3328 unfortunately AC/DC doesn't hold a candle to RUSH. The stagehand who sets up Neil's kit might show them a few things if they are nice...
When Geddy and Alex were asked in an interview why they had never toured in Brazil before, Geddy jokingly said, "'Cause we're not that smart". They had no idea anyone had even heard of them outside North America and Europe.
This is one of my favorite live performances. The crowd makes it phenomenal. Those Brazilians came to party.
The seat may rotate, however what's even better is the WHOLE drum set rotates. Sometime check out a drum solo by Neal Peart. Truly cool to watch...
Especially the one in Rio.
Live in Hamberg Germany
O Baterista is the Rio drum solo
My favorite is the one live in Frankfurt.
One cannot deny the power of 70,000 people singing every note sung/played! Check out "La Villa Stragiato" from the same performance!
Do The Studio version of 2112 There are 7 parts to this song they only played the first 2 It Will Blow your Mind!!!
yep, it's a masterpiece and must be experienced listening to it all at once.
I totally agree. I was just thinking the same thing.
Without a doubt
It is a masterpiece.
Greatest Rush song ever! (Next to Tai Shan)
Hey, these three guys from Canada have to do their laundry eve when they are in Brazil !!
I can easily bet this was the greatest night of most of their life’s !
I'm not judging cause we've all been there but no-one escapes the Neil Peart air drumming during a live Rush concert - not even in the reactions!
RUSH, YES and FLoyd never borrowed (stole) from blues musicians (sorry Led Zepplin and Elvis).
@@nattijeff And your point is that LZ and Elvis where just thieves and nothing else. Without Elvis and Led Zeppelin there would be no Rush.
@@richardeast3328 Perhaps, but Geddy's biggest influence was YES. So, you are OK with bands making huge bank without greasing the palms of the original artists?
@@nattijeff Do you think those old black bluesmen or their living relatives would have gotten that money. Do some research about the contracts they were given. You did know that Page is Alex's favorite guitarist. But I do agree with you that LZ should have given those artists writing credits.
@@richardeast3328 Research an author named David McGowan, His book "Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon" explains the craziness of the music industry. Then re-think "Spirit of the Radio" and maybe it will come together for you.
She ain’t seen his “magical drum set” until she sees one his drum solos...
Geddy kept complaining about the huge speaker behind him affecting his bass guitar but they could not leave that empty space on stage, a staff guy said we have a washing machine, the rest is history.
they had chicken spinning in industrial rotisseries at some point :)
There is a ton of Rush tribute bands out there and some are searching hard to find those vintage props from another century, that's dedication.
And that, my dear, is RUSH.
PS It's the drummer that's magical. Nice reaction. Keep rocking.
There were 40,000 people at the Rio concert, 60,000 at the previous night's show in San Paulo.
and 225.000 @ sarfest in Toronto in 2003 all those people clapping in unision to the Spirit of Radio...
AMAZING.
A fun one from the Rio concert to listen to is YYZ, where 60,000 Brazilian fans sing along... to an instrumental piece.
Being Canadian l have been a RUSH fan since their humble beginnings seeing them in clubs with original drummer John Rutsey. Watched them grow into a worldwide incredible stadium filling phenomenon. Three guys individually at the top of the talent tree...put them together and you've got Canadian Dynamite called RUSH!🇨🇦 Been an incredible journey from 3 incredible guys! Thanks for all the great music and live experiences over the years! Well done RUSH! Love you! ♥️🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦🇨🇦
I can't wait till you do La Villa Strangiato, you're gonna flip out.
Thank you I've watched many Rush reaction videos and they always say I'll react to more but they never do. I applaud you for doing what you said you would . Hope to see more of Rush from you. And I enjoy watching your reactions.
Kenneth Tesso check out Enoma. They have 60+ Rush reactions.
@@kevinmcfarlane2752 thank you I'll do that. Sounds awesome!!!!
Yeah, RUSH needs a laundromat like Heisenberg needs a car wash!
Wow. First, Amazing classic partial song warms you up to the all time classic Limelight. Second, you must experience 2112 studio version in its entirety to fully understand how much of a masterpiece album it is. Great reaction, love how you really get into Rush. They are amazing live. You had me cracking up on the smells in the crowd lol. You know its a lit ass concert when the crowd gets louder than the band at times. Thanks great reaction.
The people Brazil waited a long time for rush to come, they were not disappointed....
Cheers..
We also appreciate you doing these reactions and giving us your honest opinion 🤘
That was fun! I was transported with you. Such a fun band
I got to see 2112 in concert when it came out. I’ve seen them every time they came to my town. One of the best 3 man band besides ZZ Top. R.I.P Neil!!!
Thank you for appreciating RUSH I have be a fan for 40 yrs. When Neil passed away at 67 it hurts. Watch Neil Peart Drum Solo Frankfurt 1994 .
Love your reaction. You Rock! A Rush fan since 1983 my first concert till forever..
That's the most awesome crowd ever, they earned the show almost as much as the band.
Love the new intro pics!!!
Congrats on 20k!
12:28... Yup, washer/dryer setup on stage. Complete with RUSH T-Shirts tumbling around. LOL Getty Lee and the band have a Wonderful sense of humor.
Real RUSH fans air drum to their songs...looks like we have a real fan here! Keep the RUSH comin'!! YYZ from this is show is off the chain!
I love your reaction to Rush songs! 😀

Legendary!!!
Makes me air-drum too! Awesome!
20k is now in your rear view mirror! Onward and upward! Congrats!!
im in love
Thanks for loving RUSH.... RUSH is a special band..They are on a higher level! .. Peart was really a genius and he will always live through his AWESOME MUSIC!... I had the chance to see them live... It is still one of the greatest moments in my life!...No concert is comparable!.... EVERYBODY should check the lyrics of Natural Science (starts slow)... The Lyrics apply so much now in COVID19 and Climate Change times... RUSH songs are full of Darwinian observations... He was really The Professor! We the people should learn a lot from Peart and Rush lyrics.. Rush songs are like my Bible and I am proud of saying it! Peart was a special man! I am totally sure he is a true genius! I will like my kids some day to be influenced by RUSH Lyrics , much more than a Bible... Those lyrics will make great citizens.... the future needs it!
Scribecash youre my fav. reactor .....so fun and so intense ....you are a true fan of music
RUSH IS spectacular live, but you have to hand it to those Brazilians, they really brought the energy in truckloads! And truckloads and more truckloads.
Well deserved applause!!!
The magic drum kit!!!!
Happy you got to see the drums we've been talking about. Only thing better was actually seeing them in concert, great review
Nobody else has the ball’s to react to 2112 in RIO.....nice job....
Their transitions are crazy!!!
Congrats you got your 20K
Magical drum set indeed. Your to much lady. Keep’em coming.
I’m late to the party but I love your love for Rush!
You crack me up 😆
You really do need to listen to "La Villa Strangiato" by Rush. I'd suggest an early live version
"One of the more interesting aspects of Rush's stage show over the last decade has been the appearance of working clothes dryers on the right side of the stage. These set pieces, which spin Rush t-shirts throughout the performance, were brought about when Geddy Lee began to run his sound directly through the front of house console, eliminating the need for an amp stack on his side of the stage. Needing to fill a now empty hole on the stage, the band took the opportunity to poke fun at the habit of rockers filling the stage with walls of amps, only a few of which are usually functional. The dryers aren't the only appliances that have made an appearance on Rush's stage, they have also used refrigerators, vending machines and even giant rotisserie ovens that cooked real chicken and were attended to by a chef throughout."
Scribe, this concert took place over 20 years later from official "Limelight" video you watched a few days ago. That video in 1981 was recorded at "Le Studio" near Toronto. Le Studio has a fantastic history. The list of musicians who used this studio is most impressive. It was state of the art, and was like a remote retreat. What you just reacted to was the first time RUSH had ever played in Rio. Also, they really did have laundry in the washer and dryer on stage. They are music nerds with a sense of humor.
P.S. How many of you RUSH fans would like to meet this young lady?
True that the video you are talking about was recorded at Le Studio, like most of the albums of RUSH. Exept that this legendary recording studio was not in the Toronto area, but about one hour north of Montréal.
@@alainrobillard4300 Are you sure? Pull it up on google maps
Sorry, looked it up and you are correct Sir.
@@nattijeff
I was about to suggest you to look for Le Studio, or Le Studio Morin Heights on Wikipedia. But I guess you have already find it. The list of artists that used that studio for their recordings is very impressive, isn't it?

SCRIBE GREAT REACTION 👍
SAW RUSH 4 TIMES , GREATEST
LIVE BAND EVER !!!
That me too person is a REAL RUSH fan!
RIP Neil... You never, ever ceaae to amaze me!!!! Thank you for this!! My fav band eternal!!!!
There's nothing like the sound of an old Gibson custom. Beautiful instrument, with such an awesome tone. Rock !
Scribe, you’re meant to Rock, DO IT
@9:46 Rush rocked Rio so hard in 2002 that they shook a camera in America in 2019.
Heeeelllooooooo! Congratulations from Brazil! From all the Rush reactions out there, you're by far the best! I love the way you go crazy! Pleeeeease, you must do YYZ Live, from the same show, "Rush In Rio"!!! I beg!!! Thank's for the videos! You're great!
That's Beautiful and Fantastic The Boys from Toronto
2112 in Rio....Finally...nice job!!!!
I like the hand clapping you did. We both would fit in perfectly with the audience!
THey are GREAT LIVE.
Hey ScribeCash, if you read these comments, so glad you are discovering this stuff.
I read them
This was put out in December of 2019. She says she needs to learn to play the guitar in 2020. Let's ask the Magic Genie.
Genie: You wish for time to learn to play guitar? Granted! You shall be confined to your home until you learn to play!
And a Plague was released upon the land.
The thing I love about Living In The Limelight is he is telling the artists following them how to deal with success.
Brazil!? Hell yeh!
Thanks for doing Twenty one Twelve! I must admit I'm bummed you didn't do the lp version.
If there ever was a song that needed to be heard from the album, this is it. You have to give this a second listen for us, or on your own someday. Totally different vibe/sound.
That might be the coolest concert of all time. Seen a few so I can talk.
How many people pick up drum sticks for the first after watching Neil on this song
I
I love “The magic drum set....”
Saw them on this tour, saw them on five tours great band!
Its seems I saw everyone in the 80s but rush I never got the opportunity to see them thank God we got vids
How awesome whould it be if Alex meet with her for her first guitar lesson! Someone send this to the man!
Thats a lot of Ric Flairs! Wooo! Wooo!
I WAS THERE!!!!!
CHEERS FROM BRAZIL !
Miss Scribe, you kick ass! As others have said, you have to check out the studio version of 2112 to hear the whole 20 minute song. It's EPIC! Preferably the CZcams version with the song illustrated in "Comic Book" form. Also, when I viewed this here video, ( watchin' you watch me ) LOL, the video YOU were watching the audio and visual were not synched. I noticed that on another video you did. Is it synched on your end? I hope so! Love the air drumming! Youi know, Neil STARTED the whole " Air Drumming" phenomenon!..
They are that good.
We need By Tor and The Snow Dog next. Another epic tale that occured the year before 2112.
Alicia Encaderada I think I’ve only seen one reaction to that. But I agree.
Dammit lives!
Rush, TOOL and Pink Floyd. You can NEVER go wrong.....
This is one of those concerts you would do almost anything to go to but I would recommend Stevie Ray Vaughn at the El Macombo in Austin, Texas. You will spend the next week picking up brains that were blown out of your head. RIP SRV
Scribe
I believe that RUSH had popcorn machines during the stop in West Palm Beach of their Time Machine tour. They proved that band can have awesome sounds without big concert speakers out on stage like others have. Their system is well hidden. I think one stop had a cook checking on rotisserie chicken churning and grilling.
When I saw them on their Snakes and Arrows tour, a young woman dressed in a German maid's outfit came onstage during a song and basted the chicken. They also had a video titled "Don't be Rash" in which several women in similar outfits were carrying jugs of beer around. czcams.com/video/o0zCPEiDfdI/video.html
3 guys just having fun. Amazing isn't it?
That was badazz
There best live performance Exit stage left Xanadu 1981 (live video), Rush at the pinnacle of their greatness and a moment caught in time when it came together for them , their album “Moving Pictures” went to 3 on the US charts and number 1 in Canada
Yet, New World Man was their only Billboard top 40, officially making Rush a technical "1 Hit Wonder" :)
Yes, they have laundry running in machines during the show. LOL
Later on they tried industrial rotisseries with chicken spinning.
@@piratecat5113 I saw that tour! I loved when the roadie came out with the chefs hat to check the chicken
I wish I was you hearing this for the 1st time!!!
The sets have a bit of the guys' humor. Geddy Lee had been sending his bass through the PA for years, so he didn't need any amplifiers on stage. But the stage looked silly with Alex's huge wall of amps (notice his are decorated with Mr. PotatoHead and dinosaurs) and Neil's monstrous drum kit, and nothing behind Geddy. So he started looking for things to put behind him. He's had vending machines (which roadies would occasionally use during the show, walking out on stage and buying a sandwich or candy bar,) washing machines and dryers (the dryers have custom concert T-Shirts they would throw to the crowd - now and then you can find them on eBay for hundreds of dollars,) and later Rotisserie chicken cookers, before the band went to a central "Steam Punk" theme they began on their Time Machine tour. BTW, another feature of Alex's side of the stage was his "groupies." There would be dozens of Barbie Dolls clustered together in front of Alex's pedalboard, holding up signs (post-it notes.) Alex would joke that they were groupies his wife approved of. All 3 of the band members are dedicated family men, with Alex and Geddy both grandfathers and still married to their first wives. Neil is also an exceptionally dedicated husband, who tragically lost both his first wife and daughter in the same year to a car accident and cancer. Thankfully, he's now married again and has a new family.
YYZ IN RIO
Keep in mind that 2112 is a 20 minute piece and they only played the first 2 movements here. You should definitely give the entire work a listen, it's one of their classics.
That is laundry, they have a great sense of humor, for those that wish to see!
Scribe
I knew that you would love it LIVE!!
After you talk about RUSH, I watched some of their live concert videos....there is one song that is not well known as the classics. It is called "Animate". Video shows Neil's skills too.
You should read the cd cover has what happened to them during the tour. Very nicely put by Neil.
