This band basically is Canada even more so than Canadian Mist, hockey, ice fishing, igloos, Moosehead, Molsen Golden, mounties or maple syrup. To hear the most Los Angeles band ever, check out Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan. Dr Dre lyrics basically but with jazz chops. It's insanely awesome too.

Saw them at Hammersmith on the Hemispheres tour. They were awesome. Such amazing musicianship and great stage presence.
